This is so weird to see this channel. Both of my grandfathers fought in this division from 1941-1945. They didn’t meet until my parents married five decades after they fought together.
Damn, I was born to soon. An inn on base or pick a nice hotel! Wtf. My first night with the 25th was a rocket attack at Tay Ninh base camp and a major ground attack. Vietnam may 69
I got bussed straight from the airport to my unit in 86. Bco 5/14th Golden Dragons. Tip - Start doing a lot of lower body workouts if you're infantry. The terrain there can be brutal.
For mountain training use a stair master and wear a ruck sack with at least 40 lbs. It makes all the difference in the world to combine cardio and good leg burns.
I came there in 1984......for some reason we stayed the first night at Fort Shafter then I think I stayed in D Quad for 2 days...….I remember I was with a black guy who smelled so bad...……. he smelled like a dead dear in the woods from never taking a shower.......saw my first rainbow that day.....my first roommate at my unit was an E-5 Vietnam Vet who had just come back in.....a lifetime ago......Wow...……..
I know a dude who spent 2 1/2 out of his 3 years in Replacement; he said he does the most than anyone there, and even that was an exaggeration of how little he works lol
@@asimhusain8087 that sucks. When I was there in May, 2017 they told us to pick up cigarette butts off the ground. I just chilled in my room the entire time
@The Last Ryder the original comment that we are all replying to... definitely had the tone of those horrible "grown here, not flown here" bumper stickers. Also, I'd say that the replying inquiry is justified given the implication and connotation of "keep Hawaii Hawaiian?"
This man sounds dead inside lol
All E-7 sound like that lol
Try spending 3 years in Division there and you too will sound dead inside
He is

It’s great. There’s gonna be Hula dancers welcoming you, you’ll be able to surf and have fun in the sun. The locals are great!
Working at Replacement must be a sham job.

@The Last Ryder And I was just asking. What makes you think I'm a boot? I'm not a marine, nor have I been in basic for over a year
