Well this is perfect. I had picked up a dehumidifier recently and was thinking about using an attiny to read the state of the full led to control a pump. Then I came across this video lol.
thought about this also some years ago. Solved it by using a smart plug which has a built in meter ... just keep track of the power consumption and send a msg when tank is filled up. But nice project. Motivates me to start tinkering around with nordic + zephyr.
I considered something like that. However, in my case, the dehumidifier does not always run continuously. (Granted in the middle of the summer, that would be effective.)
