A few days ago, rumors started running rampant on Black Ops 3 due to users suffering completely broken matchmaking on PC. After further investigation, it turns out that this is solely an issue with players in North America, but even still it is isolated to specific users and not to every US PC Player. One user on Reddit shared that their anti-virus software flagged the Blackops3.exe as a trojan virus with an IP address linked to a datacentre located in China, making people believe that the games servers may have been compromised and re-routing to China. This if true would be a very dangerous and scary situation but today we finally got clarification from someone who knows the Black Ops 3 PC Security better than 99.9% of people and that is Serious, the creator of the T7 Patch.

TLDR: According to Serious, Black Ops 3 PC Servers haven't been hacked/moved to China and compromised. Nothing has changed. In order to keep yourself safe playing BO3 on PC, run the T7 patch with a network password set and/or play the BOIII client. No one should be blamed/targeted for sharing the server rumor as safety and integrity with this game is HUGE importance to the community and if things don't seem right, noise should be made to raise the issues to Treyarch/Activision. Matchmaking not working for some NA players could be down to an issue with certain US ISPs. Ultimately Activision has left BO3 PC in the state it is where the community has to fix its security problems which shouldn't be a thing in the first place. But hopefully this video clears everything up so we can go back to safely enjoying the game.

@@Aximasan But BO3 wasn't discontinued. You can still buy it on Steam for the same price it released at nearly 10 years ago, you can still buy microtransactions for weapon skins and DLC, and there's no warning anywhere in the game that it's outdated and unsafe. They could still update it to fix these security issues if they wanted, but instead they just send cease and desist letters to anyone making their own improved versions.

So from this video I get that. Activision/ Treyarch has let their game go to hackers and bad actors. Letting the players be in danger if they play the base game. That someone in the community had to do the work to make bo3 safe on pc.

@@Angel_Invader i'm of the opinion that they should cut the servers entirely and just open the game up for 3rd party hosting. really they should do that for any COD game that is over a year old. put all the network focus on the new game and let community solutions keep the old games alive
There's nothing wrong with the zombies servers. I can find a match easily and connect to friends easily. Did it on live stream recently and it worked fine. What we need are dedicated servers
What do you mean? They work 100% fine
As an infrastructure engineer, Nat traversal and isp issues make perfect sense as to why this is happening. Basically, Nat traversal allows clients to establish an internet protocol connection. If an isp is having issues some connections will not establish and results in the user not being able to connect to the servers due to a bad gateway. Malwarebytes does have a tendency to flag legitimate files as Trojans. This is something I’ve seen in my field of work.
i think also what people need to realize is these issues become more and more apparent as the player count drops as well because you are no longer getting optimal network options for all players anymore. instead of everyone you are playing with being within 500 miles you are now left with only people who might not even be in the same county just because there are fewer people to pick from along with fewer servers as well. this highlights networking issues that weren't previously apparent before

An half of united states isn't able to play online. The other half is able to play bo3 properly.
It should be illegal to sell something that is a danger to you.
Playing on ps5, only issue I’ve run into is people running invisible in multiplayer which a lot of people have called it god mode. If that could be removed I would appreciate it. Never had any issues with zombies except the decrease in players
it can't be removed as it's a series of glitches that make this possible so what tryarch did is make the class unusable but it doesn't work all the time which i've tested
This has been a thing for months if not years that the servers are riddled with hackers and unsafe for you spii in your computer

Bo3 always had problems with non joinable lobbys over the years the NAT TYPE sucks on bo3 on another game you can play together and have no problems and bo3 you need specific NAT TYPES

It's different for zombies youtubers because they're never safe as hackers usually target them. Everyone else is fine.
I mean even if it's safe to play with the client there's no reason anyone should be playing this game. If there are exploits that aren't being used but can still do damage, what's to say that bad actors couldn't just start abusing it now?? Why is everyone so confident that these exploits won't be used against random people? I know I personally won't even touch it until I know it's 100% safe, and for the record I also got a Malwarebytes flag.
I know every game will have it's risks to playing online, but it's totally unacceptable for people to be able to download files onto your system, use RCE, etc. That's not even incompetence it's malicious, Activision is a multibillion dollar company with the resources to fix this for people to enjoy the game, let's not pretend that they can't.
Such a shame, I would like to buy BO3 on steam but can’t justify the fact that you have to play offline just to be 100% safe.. and they still want 40 bucks for the complete package for a game this old, and yet they can’t be bothered to fix essential things. Will stick to the console version.
Take it when it in discount and keep to custom zombie with the patch and you will be 100% and the patch is very easy to instal literally just drag in

a few months ago it would disconnect me from every zombies game i tried to play but now i can load into every game and it runs without crashing and getting server disconnected errors!

It's the only blacks ops with FULL mod support so that's the reason to go back and fix stuff plenty of people still play it more tht any cod

The zombies community seems like a ticking time bomb nowadays, Any little thing that happens is a conspiracy or a huge problem that ends zombies if they dont do something.
These server issues are bad though, the game's legitimately unplayable right now in 9/10 lobbies. Lag in every single match. Players losing connection and host migrations every 3rd game. Should we just say nothing when a product we paid money for is nonfunctional? Quit defending corporations, it's not the zombies community's fault
@@plaguepandemic5651 i do think its a bit unrealistic to expect anything more than the bare minimum for a game that's nearly a decade old with a new one being added to the series every year. people need to realize that BO3 is 9 COD games ago. 11 if you include remasters. i don't really blame them for not prioritizing the game at this stage. i do however think its really dumb to not allow for privately hosted servers at this point though. they really should just open up the netcode and leave it to groups like plutonium to handle the hosting at this point.
@@plaguepandemic5651BO3 uses Peer to Peer (P2P) connections for all online zombies matches. This means that there is no server being used, meaning that any issue you have with internet connection is due to either your own faulty internet or the internet of the people you are playing with. When the game migrates hosts, it’s because the host disconnected from the game, meaning there is literally no connection between remaining players and that’s why it crashes. Furthermore, experiencing poor connection in an aging P2P game is to be expected. If there are not enough people playing the game and searching for a match, the game will be forced to match you with someone that does not have a good connection to your internet. There is literally nothing you can do about this except play with people you know that use the same isp you use and live closer to you irl. If you’re joining a public match, then you really can’t complain as there is nothing you or Activision can do about it.

My rebuttals is Activation shouldn’t be selling an Old and Unsupported game at full price. Further, they should be required to put a disclaimer that the game is old, broken, and unsupported at the bare minimum, with a forever discount, that gets even lower with sales. Why is Activision selling an 8 year old game, that’s 11 games from the latest game, broken, unsupported, and still full price??

servers have been hacked theres a discord that doing liquid drops and ranks gums on xbox one this has never been possible. you dont even need to go into a game with the person who does it you just like in the menu and it all changes in real time

The truth is BO6 shills are trying to get people to quit BO3, but it's never gonna happen. I have BO3 on PC and PS4 and I play every day with zero issues. Modern zombies is trash and they are scared OG zombies players will never stop playing BO3 and BO6 sales will suffer. BO6 zombies looks like trash so I'll be playing BO3 for another ten years.

Ps5 isnt safe to play either... Just connecting to online services the hackers can open web browser tabs on your ps5 and acces your consoles private information
i seriously don't think a lot of you guys understand how computers work because if you did you would know that outside of PSN information there is absolutely no such thing as "console's private information". It's all public. Your IP, location, address (or cell tower if a mobile device), your provider, etc... is public to everyone that connects to your device which is everyone in most game lobbies. The only exception is stuff like the t7 patch which adds a layer of encryption between you and the server client.
