Hey man! Love your videos :) Would you recommend the PSS A50 over the Mini Play or the other way around? I need a small portable keyboard with built-in sounds that I can use with my looper to make backing tracks :) (I've got the RC 500). Thanks!
Notice that the MPK Mini Play does not have a looper, unlike the PSS-A50. You would need to buy one. The advantage of the Mini Play is that you can tweak the sounds (filter and envelope) with the knobs and get interesting timbres. The Yamaha only has the mod button for filter and other effects (kind of gimmicky IMO).
I know it does not have reverb, but would the "sustain" feature mimic reverb a little bit? nice video, nice keyboard, but I'm hungry for a built in reverb and delay... and no keyboard like this one has it at this price point
There are comments about the low quality of the line out of this keyboard. Did it give you trouble for this recording? Did you use a noise gate/suppressor or was the signal this clean (I don’t hear noise, but I’m using iPad speakers).
The noise is very strong if you use both the usb and the audio jack on the same PC (ground loops). An audio noise filter (audio transformer 600:600) is magic to prevent having noise. Also, audio is unfortunately mono. I developped a mod to make the PSS-A50 stereo ! I still wonder why Yamaha decided to restrict the PSS-A50 to mono, while it could be stereo and have a much beautiful audio rendering to make your music much more beautiful. Have a look (headphones recommanded) on my intro here : ruclips.net/video/F4OMHS_O1EA/видео.html Have also a look on my youtube video "PSS A50 stereo mod explained" : ruclips.net/video/bAUvMFMGzyE/видео.html I mod the PSS-A50 in order to recreate the RIGHT channel path since only the LEFT channel of the soundengine chip is connected to the left+right jack headphones. Most probably applicable for both PSS-A50, PSS-E30 and PSS-F30 since the hardware is the same.
@@LionelN that is a great improvement to the PSS A50 sound! I don’t know if I would risk to do it (I’m not that experienced with electronics), but all praise to you!
@@LionelN Now that's some work. Fair play to your expertise. Whilst it's tempting to study electronics for five years to make this mod I think I'll just buy the Roland Go:Keys instead!
I assume you go out the headphones into the pedal and out the pedal into an external amp (or straight into the computer but you might get latency (lag) to any monitoring (listening))
Funny Not complaining but checked this video specifically for bass sounds Wish the bass sounds had been played … oh I don’t know… like a bass Jokingly serious
Dude, you are an excellent keyboardist. You've really brought this beginner keyboard to life
Thanks. I'm considering getting this and this video helped a lot.
I just bought this. Everyone else is way better than me, so I am looking for ideas on how to use the features.
Ah refreshing to hear the variety.
Haha Love the ending LOL! You're very talented, I Enjoyed this video!
It doesn't have a harpsiochord. Dang. Literally the one sound I needed.
Cool demo thanks for sharing!
Sir how do you connect pedals to pss-a50?
I really like these songs
Hi! What are those two devices on your right side that you the synth connected?
That's my looper pedal (Boss RC 500) and the Hall Of Fame Reverb Pedal by tc electronic. Really useful tools!
How do you connect those pedals?

For looping the Mini Play I think is the way to go. The kits and sounds are better for the most part, especially like synth bass sounds.
Better on mini Play?

Please give us link to loop efect u use on that keyboard

Closest you'll find is the akai mpk mini play in my opinion. I know it has reverb.
@@BoneZone but no speakers? I'm right?
Edit: Oh, I just found out it's the play version of the Akai mini. Nice thing, going to check it out. Thanks
Consider a multi effect pedal like a Zoom
Or on a keyboard amp
Cool. There are harpsichord and pipe organ sounds?
How do you record this if it doesnt have a line out?
There are comments about the low quality of the line out of this keyboard. Did it give you trouble for this recording? Did you use a noise gate/suppressor or was the signal this clean (I don’t hear noise, but I’m using iPad speakers).
Edit: just turned the volume all up and heard the “hssss.” Not terrible but makes it less usable for recordings.
Yeah I never seemed to have a problem. I think I was using batteries too and that can sometimes help reduce noise, worked for me though

Amazing!
Cheese! What's better in a portable
Fantastic cheese 🧀
I saw reviews of these dying , stop working when used with batteries. What do you think? Nice review thanxs
Does it have rhythm set drum patterns etc?
can i hook up my alessis vortex wireless 2 and how
How did you add the reverb pedal??
I assume you go out the headphones into the pedal and out the pedal into an external amp (or straight into the computer but you might get latency (lag) to any monitoring (listening))
Latency with the computer, not with an amplifier
👌🏼👍
Can I use it as beginning level ???
