The only part that bothered me is how the glass bridge exploded and killed the girl. The contests were supposed to be fair, yet they all get injured after they already won the game. Just seemed out of place in an otherwise fair contest.
This wasn’t the first time they’d cheated. They intentionally shorted the food to make the players fight among each other and cut the lights during the bridge game. The front man was also aware of the organ harvesting and must have known the doctor was being helped by the guards
There's actually more. The first 200+ contestants probably got killed in Green Light, Red Light because they didn't know that their lives were at stake. During the honeycomb game, all of them got different shapes and how they purposely gave the players less food so that a fight would break out. Doesn't sound like this game is fair to me.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve loved a show this much. And after hearing the writer’s backstory and how hard he struggled, I’m very happy that he received this win with Squid game blew up the way it did. He deserves this.
One thing about the classical music that you might not pick up on unless you have lived in Korea is that many universities and schools use classical music to wake the students up. It is something that resonates with Korean's that lived at the schools they attended. It is also a traditional way to end classes... most schools don't use a bell to end their lesson, but instead a musical selection of some sort.
My grandkids came over to spend this weekend with us and I was introduced to this series all I can say is wow it captured my attention from the very beginning….I look forward to completing the series and looking forward to the next season….
This show has so many hallmarks of anime sensibilities and I hope it pushes people to explore that medium who otherwise wouldn't have. There are some amazing stories in anime and manga which might fly under the radar for western audiences, hopefully more Asian media gets exposure in other countries but the future is looking bright on that end compared to when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's. It was very difficult to find anime and manga in the usa back then but I'm happy to see the explosion in popularity
This was one of the best videos I watched about the extra tidbits. I’ve heard the same facts over and over in other videos - but this one had many unique layers and information! Thank you!
Great show and by far the best thing I've seen that wasn't made in Hollywood. The map shows 3 countries that don't get netflix. China is one, can anyone name the other two?
sub always, but makes me wonder how much potential korean artists are being held back for the sake of looking good (in case of the actor who played gi hun)
Subtitles: dubbing grates on my nerves so badly for the sound and the lack of matching the mouth movements. Part of acting is vocal expression and dubbing takes that away from the actors. I thought all of the major characters were phenomenal. I loved the series so much. I thought the violence would turn me off but the characters drew me in. Nice video!
As bizarre as the show was, it was absolutely BRILLIENT... The conceptualization of the idea about what Squid Game was about, was genius.. As a psychology-scollar, I was facinated by how, if pushed to the brink of desperation, one would do anything for that 'fix' as in the case of Gi-hun who had a gambling problem.. Again - good idea..
From a vid I saw,it is said that he had the key to his handcuff..Its stated that he was handcuffed to the rope in the beginning but in later parts, his handcuff was off while the others still had theirs on
People keep saying 001 was safe during the games, I don’t think he was, if you notice in other scenes the doll sees 001, only on that one scene it kinda disappears, he obviously didn’t know what game 2 was, but even he had to use gi-huns strategy. In tug of war, even if he had his cuffs not padlocked, how could they fake him falling? And in marbles he was supposed to not be picked and would be the one who was dragged away and presumably killed.
I’m confused. Squid games is supposed to be banned in North Korea and some kid got killed for watching it. How can they have any opinion on it if they aren’t allowed for watch it
Round 6 (in english) is actually the show's name in Brazil, I think everywhere else is Squid Game, and we're pretty sure it's because our ex-president's name is Lula, which means squid and calling the show "Jogo da Lula" would cause a lot of havoc because people here fight a lot about politics
I watched the sub. When watching a show in a foreign language I like watching the sub because the dub voice overs can be really bad. The only show I ever watched the dub of was Death Note.
For sure watched it subbed. I'm use to hearing Korean. But thr truth is the dubbing was so obnoxiously bad. Sorry to the actors that did the dub voices. But I would rather read subtitles than listen to the dubbing. To me it was that bad. 😬
Agreed! Plus, you lose something when they call each other by name instead of using Hyeong and Oopa! The overdubbing didn't keep the sense of respect between the people and their ages and THAT is very much a Korean custom.
this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think everybody who "fell in love with the series" should ask himself if the world actually needs a perverted story like this in these times...
The inflection of the actor's voices is better subbed. The ease of watching without reading and the actual intake of other information is better dubbed. Just learn to speak Korean and soak it all in.
It's always so strange and odd to see how producers and people in charge of media companies never get things right how was his rejected by every Korean company and thank God Netflix picked it and made it the global number one show
I hate when people compare this to Hunger Games and Battle Royale. One is senseless killing, one is for food and Squid Game is for money. Yes, the contestants are all poor but that's the only thing in common that they share.
I thought it was good, but not that good. Being mindful about detail, plot twists and gore doesn't mean the shows gonna be good for everybody. I personally thought the acting was weak. For a show about how crazy people go for money, I didn't see one real tear, one convincing acting on them going insane or being delusional.

@@natashavernon9828 the last game is 100% not fair, the only one benefit the one who pick last. Well if they're able to reach before time runs out.
They didn't actually kill her tbh but they hurted her, Still due to too much loss of blood she became weak and then Sang-woo killed her

I could definitely see Squid Game themed escape rooms becoming a thing.

I do have a lot of admiration for Squid Game. Korea should really be so proud of this and Train to Busan. They're doing well
Ooooh yeah, we are sooo proud🙄

I started the first episode dubbed then halfway through switched to subbed. I liked it a lot better that way
I want to ask, who let their pre-teen kids watch Squid Game, and thought nothing will go wrong?
Mu parents did cuz we are exposed to all sorts of violence but only inappropriate scenes are a BIG no no 🤷
If I had a kid, even I love the film but it's full of violence I will not let my kid watch it until they are 12.
if i owned that number that is shown in the show, i would ask if people would like to 'participate in the games'
🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
Imagine if a hacker owned that number who also knew squid game, they would say whoever called them real name

Citizen Kane gets manipulative and violent in his search for Rosebud!!!! Great show!

They probably go home until the next game
