    You will make a decent living if you shoot to be a 1 man crew and provide what we call "Indispensable Service" which the bigger companies can never match. You would be surprised what a 1 man lawn care company can earn in a year if you live a more basic life and focus on paying your bills. People run into trouble when they try to offer too many services and get away from what made them comfortable.

    We look at pricing BUT what's even more important are the reviews like Google Reviews - that's the 1st place I will check. You have the 5.0 rating with 50+ reviews, I would call you. Great video!

    Great Video Juan! Keep sharing these gems. Pricing is such a tough thing in our industry. We both live in Florida I am sure that we both have landed on that one customer that says well my last guy or company. I think you have to believe in what you offer & I see you have also run electric equipment you can offer a premium because there is not loud equipment. No fumes no oils to damage their driveways or walk ways. Keep crushing it bro you got this!

    After a full year with your ryobi under commercial use, do you think electric is gonna work for you moving forward or you thinking gas might be the way? I ask bc I have a 40v 20inch kobalt at home I’ve used for the last 4 years and it’s pretty decent but one of the batteries have gone out and the reviews are not great on the replacements. If I was to get started I would love to go electric as well but it seems like as far as commercial work it’s just not there yet. Idk

    • @Greenergroundslawnservice
      @Greenergroundslawnservice  7 месяцев назад +2

      Great question!
      So the lifetime of a battery might differ, but think about how much gas money you might spend in a month for a gas powered mower. I haven’t done the math but I think it might definitely be more than the cost of a battery. On Amazon I have found and purchased Ryobi branded batteries that are slightly used and that way I know I’m getting actual ryobi batteries and not after market ones that don’t always guarantee the right amp hour it claims.
      I think electric isn’t all there YET. But in a couple years time I think electric riding mowers will be like Teslas, a lot more common! More and more people become environmentally concerned and might prefer a “green” option.
      On top of the fact it’ll be quieter they are putting their part in hiring a Green friendly option.

    When you first start out in lawn care the goal would be to land jobs. These jobs will give you on the job training for every property that is different. In time as you mentioned understanding your time and experience will merit you more value. Ask yourself this question. What value do I bring to the market of lawn care services?
    Understanding your worth will translate to your specific pricing to stay in business and profit. Every dollar you earn must come from someone else’s pocket. This would include those who can pay well and those who live on a budget like the elderly. You can include all by varying your pricing to the situation. You can also exclude those who live on a tight budget. It’s your business. I personally choose to include all and not deny people to have the opportunity for lawn care service because of strictly money. I find others give tips and that makes up any loss. Again you must define what value do you bring to the market of lawn care services? Happy cutting everyone.

    • @Greenergroundslawnservice
      @Greenergroundslawnservice  7 месяцев назад

      This is a very good take on the topic! Defining the customer you are catering towards, do you cut for everyone or a specific type of customer!
      In times of need people get humbled and will take any yard work that comes their way. I’ve lived through that, it’s also having customers you are happy servicing. Nobody wants to be making $300 a month from a client that is always on your ass nitpicking every detail and always with the “while you’re here can I have you do…” last thing we need to worry about is dealing with bad customers

    • @ErnestPerez-rg2uo
      @ErnestPerez-rg2uo 7 месяцев назад

      My business model is to provide quality affordable lawn care. This is my purpose. So some of my customers are retired or considered elderly with health issues. Others have their own business and don’t have the time. It must be a win-win situation for my client and myself regarding satisfaction cutting their yard at the price. I want them to have a quality value of service for the price they pay. My first year anniversary will be in April. I recently let go of 3 clients. Two of them showed no involvement interest on their yard or patch of land on this earth. The third client was a perfectionist. I believe in aesthetics and quality but not perfection. I will never make a perfectionist happy in my mind. So I will happily let them go. For 2024 I raised my pricing for new customers in my quote or bid. I communicate with most of my customers so we don’t see each other as just another number on this planet. So I form a relationship and recognize their value. Politics doesn’t make America great. It is the individuals who provide money in exchange for a needed service. In business, all have the free will to hire someone else or we ourselves let them go. Until then, it is an honor to cross paths with many good people. I work my business with purpose. Here is the difference between a plan and a purpose.
      A plan has a specific route to a destination. We obstacles happen the plan becomes sidetracked and can be abandoned.
      Purpose focuses only on the destination. There is no specific route.
      Define your purpose in lawn care (your destination). Then your creative mind will find the way to get there. Everything you do will be for that purpose.
      You are doing great on your videos. Looking forward to see you evolve into your purpose.@@Greenergroundslawnservice
