Furthermore, everyone knows Kris, Luhan and Tao are making more money since they left EXO. I think SM is just trying to give Lay some freedom in order for him not to leave like the other Chinese members.
This is the reason why I like EXO K and M. When the Korean is too harsh (it almost sounds chunky against the beat), the Chinese is often smoother to me, and when the Chinese is not strong enough (as in the language is too calm for the beat) the Chinese version is often a better fit.
