Sorry about the chequered squares in the bonus myth text box not syncing up with the music; They did while editing (and it was a lot of effort to get them to), but I forgot to account for Clipchamp's terrible exporting (That's also the source of the weirdness in the outro). Whoops! Hope you enjoyed either way. Next video shouldn't take nearly as long as this one. Hopefully.
1:40 I actually just had that happen to me, i even have a clip of it happening. I'll try and upload it on my channel. As for the steps i took that caused it to happen, here they are: -Wake up, sleep at ember twin for about 12 min (i think?) then go inside ash twin project -Wait a bit, then suddenly the casing holding the core opens (without me manually opening it for some reason? Note that it opened way before the supernova) -Go inside casing without turning off artificial gravity i think? (I noticed right as i jumped into the casing, the glowing ball that opens/closes the casing freaked out for a split second) -Casing automatically closes on me for some reason -Chaos ensues Im pretty sure those were the events leading up to it. Though im not 100% sure if i turned off the artificial gravity or not. Pretty sure i didnt though
One I've confirmed and would love to see you cover: If you manage to get up to the ship without activating the Nomai statue by shooting yourself up the geyser and landing on the launchpad railing (known as "Guyser Skip") you can visit the Stranger without starting the 22-minute timer and sleep at the green flames. If you sleep for a few hours and visit Giant's Deep, the Tower of Quantum Trials island will not be on the north pole and will instead be drifting somewhere near the equator, and will even clip through the construction yard island.
I think the fact that meditating is treated as falling asleep for entering the dreamworld is a subtle joke reveal by the devs: Gabbro's "meditation" was all along just a way to fall asleep, and it's why it normally skips the rest of the loop: you're unconscious for it due to being asleep.
If you do the statue skip, the Tower of Quantum Trials, on Giant's Deep, will eventually float outside of the the big cyclone where it can be picked up by the smaller ones. I discovered this while attempting to complete my log within a single cycle. My attempt was cut short while investigating the construction yard. The Statue Workshop landed on my head. 😵💫
Here is a myth: Does jumping into the black hole in ATP several times each with/without scout or while holding various items result in the breaking space time ending?
I've gone back and tested the Myth I sent in a couple times and similarly to you nothing of note happened, I think you're right with them patching it, especially considering back when I encountered the desync it was before echoes of the eye was even released
It might have been patched in between the DLC release and now, since I looked through my screenshots and encountered it during the self ending, with Echoes of The Eye installed
A lot of effort is put into these videos! Outer Wilds was always my fav game when it came out and it's so exciting to see people like you care about it
I'd be curious to see if your mask in the ATP only starts glowing if you actually pair with a statue(before starting the loop). Maybe you can't get into the ATP if the loop never starts but you could still use a projection pool.
(Spoilers for the DLC) You can complete the DLC alive instead of burning yourself in the fire. So there would be no reason to get the "YOU ARE DEAD" text in that case. The wake-up bell can be disabled by in-putting the right code: 🌓 🌔 🪐 🌔 🌓 That would be a great opportunity also wakeup (alive) on the Stranger and showcase how the Vault has also opened in the game's real world. You can visit the Prisoner's remains to pay your respects. Consider everything I have claimed to be a myth and test this in a future video.
The datamined code enables a fun challenge run that I recommend trying out - freeing the prisoner and going to the eye, in the same loop. It's fairly tight but very doable and it's a fun challenge! And this way the prisoner can be free forever, not just for one loop :)
I always have fun with that first one. 8:57 ah yes my favourite, the quantum rock hopping strategy. Love that one. I’ve already tried the following ‘myth’ and confirmed it, (with a video coming about it sometime in this lifetime) but I think it’ll be a lot of fun for you to do anyway. If you Lucid dream, exit the dream world with the ship, go to timber heart and use the ship flight training, it will lock you in place. Just wait for the tower to collapse and then it should take you back to timber hearth, with some wacky results! Great video! ::)
Very cool video! Just finished getting all the achievements and thought I had learned everything about this game. Unsurprisingly, there is always more to learn!
That's an interesting idea, I assume if you managed to get in the dead centre it'd just pick a direction to pull you in, similar to how the scouts behave when trying to get the Fire Arrows achievement. Not sure if I'll be able to test it (I can't mod the game without probably at least 10 hours of effort lol) but if I find a way to get that high, that could definitely be fun
So regarding that last one where you get isolation within the stranger; Am I right in thinking this is because the stranger never gets destroyed by the supernova... it's been a while so I may be misremembering, but I vaguely recall a screen showing that the stranger is monitoring the sun and uses the green panels as solar sails (of a sort) in order to escape the supernova radius... Well it occurs, I don't know if I've *observed* the stranger make this manoeuvre fully... I have a slight memory of, after learning the above, and looking out the window later into the cycle; noticing the solar system being more distant and thinking "huh, that's cool"... But I haven't directly *seen* the actual movement of the stranger, if it indeed works how I think it might... Basically I guess I would like to see a timelapse from inside looking out the window, from just outside (if there is an angle at which this is at all interesting), and then (if it's possible to disable to shroud that usually makes the stranger invisible), various perspectives of the manoeuvre from further out. If it even moves at all; I could be hallucinating 😅
As far as I'm aware, the solar sails activating is what causes the lights to flicker momentarily and what causes the 'quake' that sets off the dam's eventual collapse
@@daniielah.7569 yeah I think so, I assume there's a physical jolt within the whole structure, either from the sails opening at all, or from the acceleration in the "away from the sun" direction, and I know it is shown in lore to be designed to move outside the supernova radius, I just don't know if I've ever SEEN it move, at best I only vaguely recall looking out and seeing the solar system seemed further away
What if, you return to the solar system after the supernova? I know there's already a video about it, but they didn't remove the hitbox of the supernova that kills you. Surely you can use some mods to prevent yourself from dying, and go to the planets to see if they're really all frozen like the map shows they are?
I’m fairly sure you get another secret ending with similar text, it says something along the lines of “How long has it been? They don’t even chase you anymore. Your life before becomes some half remembered dream” something like that lol
0:15 Haha once again I click on a random Outer Wilds video because it looks interesting and I find my face on it! I thought my video had only been FEATURED in yours, I didn't think it was actually an inspiration for the whole series! It really warms my heart, and you're doing great work. I'm having my girlfriend of 3 months play Outer Wilds, I hope I can show her these experiments once she's done. Oh, you could see if they already patched the Ringed World bug I showed on my channel ruclips.net/video/NwztEwmJB5E/видео.html: in the Eye of the Universe, you make the Ringed World appear in the sky by digging only a little of the Prisoner's grave, then do Solanum's sequence. When the Nomai shuttle launches, the Ringed World graphic glitches out, becoming transparent and cropping weirdly. Or maybe not anymore, I'm not sure!
Spoiler ahead for the DLC: If you go to the third entrance (the hole in the wall) and park your ship outside. You can see your ship back in the dream. Especially when visiting the belltower.

No you're right, it does move away from the sun using the big green thingamajigs. A timelapse of that seems like a fun idea, could be a neat short!
