"It was a clear foul" except NBA's Official twitter listed that Luka bait closeout play as an illegal offensive foul. Literally using Luka video as an example of an illegal offensive move.

Disagree on Towns 3 point foul on Luka being a foul. Every other one was stupid and he complained for no reason. But Luka jumped into him, and if he shoots normally there is no contact.

Luka is smart enough to cheat on that by leaning toward Kat. A really bad call since the replay makes it so obvious Luka leaned.
Home court advantage disappearing theory: All the real fans are priced out of attending playoff games.
That’s only one part of home court advantage though. Another important factor is just being able to go to your actual home and practice and rest in a place that is your own/ you are comfortable with.

Both series could have realistically been flipped the other way (3-1 pacers, possibly the same with the Wolves) if the clutch time performances had been so much better. Never seen a 3rd round like it for what Will seem like ‘dominant’ victories as per the final numbers, barring a collapse from the Mavs

I’m a huge Mavs fan and that 6th foul was caused my Luka imo. But I think this win for the Twolves was more about Kyrie and Luka struggling and missing Lively than what the wolves did.
You could easily say the same for the Mav's wins. If Towns/Edwards just had slightly below average games Wolves win.

I think the loss of home court advantage is due to a variety of factors like y’all discussed. But another big one may have to do with the amount of money these guys are playing for now. With huge bucks going to even bench players the expectation of the team and commitment of the players increases. That means comfortable and standardized travel schedules and more disciplined players. These factors lower variance from arena to arena. In addition, the large amount of AAU experience playing games in different playing environments may have also conditioned the average player to hit closer to their averages during away games.
As a Mavs fan what makes me nervous is all the rest the Celtics are getting while this series progresses. I hope it's not a Denver-Minnesota type series where now they pull 3 straight wins lol.

26:44 I think another reason that home court advantage has gone out the window (pardon the pun) is the vast improvement in air travel. Even in the 90's they were flying commercial and staying in 4-star hotels, eating burgers and smoking cigarettes, waking up hungover after a night out gambling and drinking.
I had a bad neck strain once, it can cause extremely painful headaches, you can't even think, lights hurt. Lasted about 6 hours and another 12hr of a dull pain.
Mine was caused by a combination of stress/tenison and improper lifting techniques at work.

I wondered if Luka's heliocentrism and Harden style play could win him a championship. Seeing him pick apart this Minnesota defense with this level of mastery and versatility, that questions is gone for me. People always wondered if people liked playing with Harden in Houston. The way this roster thrives off Luka and coexists efficiently with Kyrie is amazing.

Idk how anyone can blame Gobert for this series. He was dominating the suns, did well enough in the Denver series vs jokic and he’s been solid this series but the greatest scorer in the league hit a 3 on him so he’s terrible I guess

A high sprained ankle would linger and keep you out only for you to re-aggravate after wks off. Know things have changed and I understand the pearl clutching for repeated stingers in a short timeframe, but individual isolated ones really aren’t a big deal at all

If brook lopez can develop to be a 35-38% 3 point shooter on 5 attempts LATE IN HIS CAREER (Year 8). Then lively can eventually put up 3 a game at 33% and that would be amazing for the mavericks.

For those who complain about Luka getting all the calls and whining every play…..IT WORKS. He has a found the perfect balance of exceptional play and needling the refs the right amount to have it work massively in his benefit. King of the “game within the game”. Unfortunately, it’s really tough to watch at times but he is arguably the best in the league for a reason. His style of play and skill makes it very hard for the referees to judge and they will usually lean in his favor.

Initializing contact should ALWAYS disqualify you from drawing a foul. Luka can play physical all he wants and of course abuse guys who jump into you - but bumping a defender should NEVER get you anything other than the defense out of balance.

Home court theory:
Once upon a time in a land far, far away. The lights were always bright on Broadway. The director cried 'Action' and the film would roll. There were 4 channels, 3 studios and the worst cringe invite was home movies.
Today. Everybody has a film crew in their hand and multiple channels to help you distribute. (fb, tt, ig, yt, etc) As a result the lights are bright all the time and home or away is the time to shine.

Barring injury Mavs in 6. The Mavs have been more consistent in crunch time. KAT had a good game and Kyrie had a poor one. I’m not sure I like the chances of that happening 3 more times. But, the Wolves aren’t going to give up on themselves so if anyone is going to comeback from 3-0, it’s them.
Was it me or were there a ton of phantom calls for Luka, but Ant was getting smacked going to the hoop with no foul calls. Scott Foster was reffing and there were several calls down the stretch where he is not even trying to hide the fix.
Why would they fix it to sweep? Scott is a trash ref but I don’t see any reason why the league would want the Mavs to win in 4 or even the series in general

I think the wolves played better, mavs played too cute trying to score knockouts and it mostly led to long rebounds and turnovers. There is a notion that the 3 close minn losses were flukes and finally game 4 is the expected outcome. I 100% disagree and believe the Mavs will close it out game 5. If lively is out then maybe game 6.
