As a fellow Australian 🇦🇺 Tim Minchin is a living legend
The significance of the orange peel at the start was brilliant!
Wow! He’s singing about how I sometimes feel now that I’m older. I have never heard of him and thank you for introducing me to his talent and wit. The song is excellent and I want to play it over a few more times to remind me that old or not I should stay involved and make the world a better place.
Tim is highly intelligent and super talented. He wrote the music to Matilda the musical. He started out doing musical comedy but even then it was kind of hard to fit him in that box because a lot of his songs include lessons like this. He is also an actor, writer, poet and director and has an album of more "normal" songs.
I wish I was hearing Tim Minchin for the first time. He is a brilliant man
Great reaction to a brilliant song about such an iconic place.
As great as Tim's more comedic work from over a decade ago was, his more recent songs are just brilliant. I'd recommend next either The Aeroplane or I'll Take Lonely Tonight, two of my personal favorites.
I cried when I listened to I'll take lonely tonight for the firts time. Its also Tim's wife favourite.
@susannariera I can certainly understand that. It's sort of the flip side to Tim's more satirical ode to her, If I Didn't Have You.
@@timpwhit she said is the song that better shows Tim's personality, the most honest.
LoL I saw in an interview on ABC, his wife laughing about that song..as if Tim was looking for admiration for not cheating on her!
@@jemxs she said she likes to joke about it but it's the perfect Tim song, Tim mentioned other women being upset and asking if he wants a medal for not cheating.
He is brilliant.
I love this song. Funny how emotional i get about a building in a country i've never visited. Love Tim and look forward to everything he creates. Notice the orange peel making the shadow of the opera house? The Aeroplane by Tim is an incredible, emotional song that is recent, as well.
I'm glad to be one of those crazy Danes with weird ideas like the Danish architect behind the Sidney Opera house, Jørn Utzon (well maybe my ideas aren't as crazy but maybe I'll get there one day 🙂 ).
This thing makes me tear up every time. For all the evil of which humanity is capable, there is still the unfathomably beauty of the human spirit that makes life worth it.
Thanks for reacting to this! The irony is so pointed, even at the beginning ... don't be a showoff, go with the flow, don't be a clown ... when all the while they're doing precisely the opposite. That's Tim for ya! Appreciate your take!!
Just to let you know brother harry mack had coast on his podcast which was dope and they freestyled it was such a movement for hip hop peace
Hi Nick. As a Sydney sider who sees the Opera House nearly daily, this always brings tears to my eyes. The moment when he adds the little black figurine to the original model which contained all white people is incredibly symbolic in this country as no doubt you’re aware. The Opera House trust chose the right man for this job, I’m sure Tim would have changed heck to the f word if they’d let him though 😂❤ oh PS the design was a global competition and the winning architect was Danish..
I heard Tim in an interview talking about keeping it clean. He said he did slip one in by mispronouncing content.
@@CraigShifflet yes i think the Opera House trust would have had some guidelines for sure lol but that “heck” he would have loved to change that one if it wasn’t commissioned 😂
@@Dr_KAP He said he wanted to say "How do you explain Fuck Boy Island if the universe wanted you out and about' but they wouldn't let him. Lol. Apparently it's a TV show.
@@PianoDiary85 oh no way??!! That’s hilarious 🤣
@@Dr_KAP Yes way. This is Tim we're talking about 😅.
👍thanks for playing this song !
How about some Queen ! Live Aid 1985, Wembly Stadium. If you’ve never seen it, you will be glad you did ! New sub here.
let's face it, they're preparing us FOR WHEN THE ROBOTS TAKE OVER
look up the behind the scenes of the making of this, it will give you some more insights. cheers.
