Happy I found both you and Ryan almost a year ago. The genuine motivation the both of you have given to me in the gym has changed my life.
It's good seeing both perspectives, how they both approached the Olympia and what it really takes. A strong mindset, time, literally anything that falls under the category of self-improvement. In 1987 I was lucky to work as an assistant strength coach with Washington's Dan Riley, although I had really controlled form and techniques, Dan really stressed the pause and slow controlled negative. At 60 my joints are great. I teach all my athletes the importance of slow and controlled reps. Going super heavy will eventually catch up to you. As a pro bodybuilder, you cant afford tears and bad injuries

I am not a bodybuilder, yet yesterday I presented my thesis for getting my degree in civil engineering. Better late than never they say, I mean I am currently 33 and the past 15 years have been quite a rough ride. Even the last year hasn't been friendly once I was diagnosed with some sort of ankylosing spondylitis. I am on serious medication, the pain comes and goes, the side effects of methotrexate and TNF are real. But, hey, everyone's got their own struggles in life and fight for what's meaningful in their lives (sorry, that was me channeling JBP ha ha). Thanks for being authentic Chris, I wish you, Courtney, and the rest of the family all the best in life and health.

I remember the time when Chris was in his Ottawa apartment and he and Ryan had a Skype video session. Hilarious , full of mutual respect, brilliant to say the least.
