Hi Arvind, great video! I did my HS in India and took NEET there. I did not receive any "cast-reservation" benefits. Although I scored in the 98-97 percentile and got into an Indian government medical college, I believe the MCAT is much harder than the NEET. Compared to NEET where questions are pretty straightforward, MCAT is a logical test that makes it more challenging. NEET is more like a content review test, while the MCAT requires understanding concepts and applying them to different scenarios. For ESL students, including myself, the MCAT gets more rigorous as it requires fast reading, which is something that Indian students don't get to practice often during their HS. It is incredibly difficult if you aren't completely familiar with every type of question that could possibly come in the exam. Unless you are someone that truly loves and enjoys reading physics.....it is going to be a pain in the ass. NEET exam is very hard to crack in the 1st attempt. Even great students that get 95%+ in boards don't get great marks in the 1st attempt. Only students that are exceptionally good and fast at understanding concepts or hv another family member that is a doctor, usually perform well and get 650+ . Most students end up taking 1 or 2 drop years to crack NEET. If you want to know more about the pressure that students feel while preparing for these exams then i recommend you watch the series-'Kota factory'. This show is not about NEET aspirants but about a similar exam called IIT-JEE - which is just as competitive and hard .
This is an appreciation comment: I've already left 2 comments on you channel considering i just came to your account accidentally 10-15 mins ago and i must appreciate your work/ energy. I'm pretty sure your channel will flourish very much , content's just dope ❤️
Hey I'm new to your Channel. just so you know i loved the way you explained the topic also i was impressed how you respected both the exams cus yeah both are difficult in there own way. And if you don't mind me asking which college/university are you in?
another major thing that stresses us out here preparing for neet is the number of reservations that are made. the major ones being the state quota and the caste reservations. basically, if you belong to a state then you get to enjoy the state quota provided by a renowned college of that state which consumes like 85% of the total seats and just 15% is left for the students belonging to the all India quota which further includes other sorts of reservations like the caste reservation etc. so admission into a good college becomes even more difficult when you belong to a state that doesn't have a good med college and you belong to the general category. also you need to get at least 680-690 for a prestigious college.
That’s insane - it’s crazy how the only thing you can control in the process is your NEET score - here at least there are other factors to balance your application. Definitely need to make a follow up video discussing this system.
@@a23oj28 it does, since neet has such a low acceptance rate and a much much much vast syllabus(and you hardly can skip any topics), the difficulty level is kept much lower
@@Saisenpai991 Med school acceptance in India is based off of 1 test, but that is not the case in other countries which take a holistic approach. The difficulty of the MCAT is not equal to the difficulty of being accepted into med school in Canada so you cannot use that as a metric to compare the exams. Yet we still have ~4% acceptance rate here, all things considered. Depending on which school you apply it can drop to 2% as well. This does NOT consider the MANY pre meds who change their mind early on in the undergraduate program either. In Canada we also have to sacrifice much more of our lives to preparing for med school applications, including thousands of hours in varied extracurricular activities, research experience, clinical and non clinical volunteering, casper exam, multiple minute interviews, maintenance of > 3.9 GPA -- the MCAT is a gruelling marathon of an exam but it is a SMALL part of our overall extreme application. Moreover, the MCAT actually tests understanding of material and critical analysis rather than just being able to recall facts quickly or solve a physics problem in 40 seconds, which is arguably more difficult to train for and requires years and years of honing your knowledge, test taking abilities and ability to dissect research texts.
You need 620+ to get a college( any college like cutoff ) 670+ for good prestigious college! Also there is a reservation system which makes it harder for general category students more.
@Mayank Chaudhary So are they subjected to this kind of treatment even now? I know a lot of people with good rich families having reservation certificates and get easy admissions , one of my known person who owns a range rover and gets admission in UCMS( AIQ quota ) at 567 with SC quota . He has an iPhone , a macbook , an iPad , a smart watch , and literally so much. Damn he's oppressed ! Reservation is creating more problems than upliftment right now in 2022...! The upliftment era using reservation is over (2000-2010) So please keep your thoughts to yourself . Economical reservation , YES, Required! Social reservation , NO , IT'S TRASH People these days even get fake General EWS(economically weaker section) certificates easily made and use it falsely. And everybody right now is at perfect Liberty to drink water , Like Please... This is 2022!
@@jasmine0613 no.. it's not.you are right that reservation should be removed for the upper class sc and st candidates. But you can't claim that they're not subjected to casteism. I,myself belong to SC category and we have been facing mild casteism for 33 years in workplace, residential area, etc. We can't buy a house in some apartments or places because the builder denies us by saying that they don't make deals with lower caste and communities. Yes, we're not that oppressed but i must say that people of my community have faced atrocities and they're still suffering from these things. In Rajasthan's private school, recently a 9 y/o boy was beaten to death by the teacher from.upper caste because he drank water from the pot. The point is... reservation is not the only solution. We have to be more kind to these people who have been oppressed, abandoned and humiliated by the society. I'm joining med school on lower score of 560 and i know that some of my general category friends who have scored 580 may not be able to get admission. That also breaks my heart. And i wish that reservation get limited to the most needy people.but Don't just say that we're not oppressed now ...ho and hear the cases in rural and urban areas of many Indian states where people belonging to lower categories are oppressed for performing basic activities!
Approximately 22 lakh students appearing for NEET contribute to the intense competition, resulting in high cutoffs and increased paper difficulty. The exam becomes excessively challenging due to the heightened competition, even though the paper itself shouldn't be excessively difficult.
Randomly found your channel but your content is dope. I have to say that. But there is one thing you forgot to mention which is the casting system of India. I mean these system does not make any sense. I am a NEET aspirant. And sometimes it feels like giving up. But I have to make through this to become a veterinarian.
Hey! First of all great content! I am international student in Canada, soon will-be taking undergrad. I was wondering where did you get these mock tests paper of mcat?! Can you please let me know. Thank you!
Thank you for the detailed analysis!!! 😊❣ The ability to get into a good medical college in India depends on many factors like: 1. money: management/private college seats can be filled if the candidate has just the minimum qualifying marks: approx. 120, and a lot of money 💵 💵 2. region: some states have more competition due to more aspirants and higher cut offs than others 3. reservation: community/ caste based, Physically challenged, Economically weaker section(recently introduced, with the lowest cutoff) 4. your overall rank can also vary based on the individual subject marks(bio>chem>phy), no. incorrect answers and age. On a rough note, a candidate must get a 600+ to be on the safer side. That does not guarantee the "top" colleges though. I am a repeater. I got 440 last year, and can get a dental admission/ or ayurvedic course. I chose to take the exam again in 2023. Also, apart from periodic table, no log tables or calculators are provided as well... making it super hard to do calculations in the given time slot 😥
Hey..!! I really liked your video..💯😍 I just wanted to enquire that if I did my mbbs in India than can I join usa medical universities by usmle or MCAT instead of doing Indian pg??..🙏 If I came from middle class how much would it cost..?? 🙄
You would have to do USMLE. Cost is definitely high unfortunately, but I don’t really know the specifics. Try to talk to your seniors and see if anyone has taken that path before!
Also i thought usmle was the exam that one needs to give so as to become a doctor in us umm maybe you give it after your md degree ig? Also i wish to become a doctor in us from what I've planned rn : I'll complete mbbs from india and then apply for usmle. And I've seen a lot of videos on usmle but never really understood what's after that like i know that it's a whole process and everything. What I'm tryna say is if you could please make a video on usmle as well and explain it from scratch to what after to get matched. Would really be of so much help to me also since you're someone who lives there you'd probably know better.
So we take the usmle during medical school - there are two different usmle exams that i know of: step 1 and step 2. You usually take step 1 in the second year of medical school, then step 2 at the end of medical school, after that you get your MD degree. I'm not sure the process for IMG's like yourself tho - I think you take usmle after mbbs in your timeline! Sorry I'm not that much help haha
@@ArvindRajan not a problem.. i did my reasearch lol it's the same for us too like usmle 1 in second year and step 2 you can give during your internship year ... why am i even telling you this baahaha it's like of no use to you
brother according to neet information you have given in the video is somewhat different but actually, students who get 600+ in neet are getting into med school. but those who are getting even 580 are not able to get selected into top government colleges. it's very difficult to clear this exam. but yeah you can get private institutes even if you get 200 marks but they range the tuition fees from 251291 dollars (approx).
As a person who has cracked the neet exam.. over the years the scores have sky rocketed.. out of 720 to get into good institution you may need somewhere around 670+.. which really owe to the increase in students.. and quite frankly the exam has become more or less.. sharp and easy
MCAT is much harder ig because it focuses on your IQ level , your critical thinking level, your inteligency level ig in this exam you should have sharp mind whereas in NEET it is purely based on your root memorisation skill , theory and concepts on fingertips. It is not mandatory that u r intelligent then only u can clear neet if u r not as sharp minded u can also clear it coz it wants hardworking and consistent in studying like 8+hrs ... just the same difference like neet and iitjee difficulty level
The video is extremely good while comparing both of the exams but I would like to add some changes: In NEET Exam, if you want to get admission into mbbs, u need atleast 620+ ... no scope under 600 but for dental, ayurvedic and homeopathic colleges, we need around 500.. Also, the no. of candidates appearing for the NEET exam is increasing year by year, 1.5 million were 2-3 yrs back, in 2023, they were around 2 M and this is bcz of the fact that droppers are increasing.. AND AND AND! after mbbs, we need to get our specialization (md/ms) which is of 3 yrs, ie. we also become dr after the age of 26! And for doing md after mbbs, we need to give another exam- INICET/ NEET-PG (NEET Post Graduation) which is also rank based so as to get different specializations (ortho, cardio, derma, gynae, internal med, etc.)
Hey! I hope you are doing great I aspire to go to Harvard med school . I am currently in grade 12 . What should the best shot for me to give neet or to do my undergrad from Canada or USA and to take mcat there?
I am from India Currently in 2nd year of my graduation of Applied Life sciences Am I eligible to give MCAT ? I ll be finishing my graduation in 2023 And how do I prepare for it sample. question papers and materials ??
You can! The journey is definitely harder for international students but possible. From what I see, India does not have MCAT test centers so you will need to go to a different country to take the exam. In terms of preparation, look up what topics are covered on the exam and see what you already know/need to learn. I have another RUclips video on MCAT prep. There are official test papers on the aamc website (but you do need to purchase them)
So MCAT you don’t need to worry until at least your second year of undergrad - once you learn all the prerequisite science content in your undergrad science degree, then I’d start studying dedicated for the MCAT.
The NEET cutoff is determined by various factors such as the total number of seats available, the difficulty level of the exam, and the overall performance of the candidates. So, while aiming for a score around 600 might seem feasible in some cases, it's crucial to stay updated on the official cutoff scores released by the authorities each year. Aspiring medical students should always aim to score higher than the cutoff to ensure they have the best chance of securing admission to their desired medical schools.
Hey, I was just wondering, since you took the MCAT and went over the neet questions, at a personal level being in the US education system, which exam did you think was more challenging based on the academic upfront? Like wrt the syllabus? ( ps: not comparing the difficulty level of admission process in any countries, just based on pure academia/sci knowledge)
Good question! Objectively, I think the MCAT is harder. For this exam, you need to not only know the content, but you need to know how to apply the content. Additionally, it’s a much longer exam which makes stamina an important factor. The NEET seemed like it tested concepts in a more straightforward way - if you knew the concepts, you could do the questions. Maybe I’m biased because I studied full time for the MCAT but not the NEET, but that’s my thoughts. Both are extremely challenging despite this though, and the thing that makes NEET especially difficult is that you take it at a much younger age than MCAT.
After qualifying NEET with good marks, the medical school fees is like 30k per year (Rupees) ... So whats the fees of public med schools in the US per annum after qualifying MCAT with good marks?
Hey I'm indian and also neet aspirant...cutoff is not same for everyone I mean it depends on the categories like lower caste people can get college with 480 or 500 marks but general category needs 610+ to hardly get a seat
So in the US there is no MBBS - only MD. MD cost of tuition could range from 30-70 thousand dollars per year (but you may be eligible for financial aid)
Hi i am from india and i want to do md is usa so can u plz tell details about mcat exam currently now i am in degree final year planing to go usa next year
Yoo Mohd! Unfortunately I don’t know too much about the process for international students, but I do know it’s difficult. For example, they do not offer the MCAT in India, so you will need to take it in a different country. I’m planning on making a full video on this in the future - stay tuned!

NEET is very memory based and questions confuse you a lot also the time pressure is massive, i gave MCAT too for fun, i found it pretty easy as compared to NEET but that's just my perspective.🚶🏻♀️
Damn.. I wanna give the MCAT but it seems to be even much harder than Neet since you need to appear in 5 to 7 subjects additionally which are not even in your touch for the last two to three years or could be even more, since a students needs to appear the mcat at 21 Years age but still it seems harder.. But yeah, sir, Id just like to ask you something that how did you manage to appear for the mcat with humanities along with science,, I mean see it's obviously a bit tough right to mug up things, when you aren't in a touch with it for last 4 to 5 years ig
For US medical colleges you have to get a bachelors degree first to take all your prerequisite classes, and it might easier if you do the bachelors in the US. Then you take the MCAT exam which is used to apply to medical school. However it’s important to remember that you also need to do other stuff, like research, clinical experience, and volunteering to be competitive for a US medical school.

I'm pretty sure your channel will flourish very much , content's just dope ❤️
ayeee thanks so much!!! i appreciate you!
Hey I'm new to your Channel. just so you know i loved the way you explained the topic also i was impressed how you respected both the exams cus yeah both are difficult in there own way. And if you don't mind me asking which college/university are you in?
hey thanks so much :D i'm in a university in north carolina in the US
I have my Neet after 45 days !
I am so nervous!
1.87 million aspirants this year , nearly 20,000 general category seats ..
God give me strength!
GOOD LUCK!!!! Wow - that’s SO MANY PEOPLE!
@@ArvindRajan Thanks! I may tell you my score after the exam if it comes out good , haha😆
Hey bro what is your score😼
@@jasmine0613 how'd it go?
another major thing that stresses us out here preparing for neet is the number of reservations that are made. the major ones being the state quota and the caste reservations. basically, if you belong to a state then you get to enjoy the state quota provided by a renowned college of that state which consumes like 85% of the total seats and just 15% is left for the students belonging to the all India quota which further includes other sorts of reservations like the caste reservation etc. so admission into a good college becomes even more difficult when you belong to a state that doesn't have a good med college and you belong to the general category. also you need to get at least 680-690 for a prestigious college.
That’s insane - it’s crazy how the only thing you can control in the process is your NEET score - here at least there are other factors to balance your application. Definitely need to make a follow up video discussing this system.
This is one the best video I have watched today, a wonderful channel . SUBBED and liked ! a fellow creator ~~
I’m your 900th sub les go
AYEE LET’S GO🔥🔥
Well neet has less than 2% acceptance rate, 2.5 million students sat for the exam and only 50k are selected........
That has nothing to do with the relative difficulty of the exams
You need 620+ to get a college( any college like cutoff )
670+ for good prestigious college!
Also there is a reservation system which makes it harder for general category students more.
Wow!! I completely missed the mark on that - thanks for the correction. It’s interesting to see how big of an effect the reservation system has.
Social reservation , NO , IT'S TRASH
People these days even get fake General EWS(economically weaker section) certificates easily made and use it falsely.
That’s really interesting- maybe I’d love to make a video on the casting system and how that plays a role. Thanks for stopping by man!
@@ArvindRajan and yes, make sure to mention that this casting system makes NEET twice harder than MCAT

First of all great content! I am international student in Canada, soon will-be taking undergrad. I was wondering where did you get these mock tests paper of mcat?! Can you please let me know.
Thank you!
So if you check my free resources MCAT video you can find them there!
Sir Which books we should read for MCAT
Please make a video of Books
Thank you for the detailed analysis!!! 😊❣
The ability to get into a good medical college in India depends on many factors like:
1. money: management/private college seats can be filled if the candidate has just the minimum qualifying marks: approx. 120, and a lot of money 💵 💵
2. region: some states have more competition due to more aspirants and higher cut offs than others
3. reservation: community/ caste based, Physically challenged, Economically weaker section(recently introduced, with the lowest cutoff)
4. your overall rank can also vary based on the individual subject marks(bio>chem>phy), no. incorrect answers and age.
Thanks for the information!! This is really interesting - there are so many factors that are out of your control
@@ArvindRajan True. You are welcome :)
The maximum I can do as an aspirant is keep studying and hope for the best!
Hey..!!
I really liked your video..💯😍
I just wanted to enquire that if I did my mbbs in India than can I join usa medical universities by usmle or MCAT instead of doing Indian pg??..🙏
If I came from middle class how much would it cost..?? 🙄
You would have to do USMLE. Cost is definitely high unfortunately, but I don’t really know the specifics. Try to talk to your seniors and see if anyone has taken that path before!
Never understood why ppl are so humble. Mcat is obviously the hardest entrance exam and becoming a doctor in the US is the hardest
Hi I need more details about medical degree in US.... how can I touch with you buddy?
@@ArvindRajan not a problem.. i did my reasearch lol it's the same for us too like usmle 1 in second year and step 2 you can give during your internship year ... why am i even telling you this baahaha it's like of no use to you
Your accent is too good brother and i have to ask how did you learnt it
brother according to neet information you have given in the video is somewhat different but actually, students who get 600+ in neet are getting into med school. but those who are getting even 580 are not able to get selected into top government colleges. it's very difficult to clear this exam. but yeah you can get private institutes even if you get 200 marks but they range the tuition fees from 251291 dollars (approx).
ahh interesting! so it seems like the main difference is the concept of getting into government med schools and normal med schools.
I think that’s a great way to put it!
In neet qn pattern has been changed from 2023 more statement wise qn more assertion type qn and ultimately ultra pro mx level competition 😢
Hello! What was your MCAT score? Did you appear for SAT and AP exams? Are you in USA currently persuing pre med?
I just started med school! And yes I did my whole education in the us
The video is extremely good while comparing both of the exams but I would like to add some changes:
In NEET Exam, if you want to get admission into mbbs, u need atleast 620+ ... no scope under 600 but for dental, ayurvedic and homeopathic colleges, we need around 500..
Also, the no. of candidates appearing for the NEET exam is increasing year by year, 1.5 million were 2-3 yrs back,
in 2023, they were around 2 M and this is bcz of the fact that droppers are increasing..
Thank you for the updated information!!
I like your commentary. In india there is no upper age limit now to do medicine. Let me know is it the same case in USA.
Nope, no age limit!
Hey! I hope you are doing great I aspire to go to Harvard med school . I am currently in grade 12 . What should the best shot for me to give neet or to do my undergrad from Canada or USA and to take mcat there?
Good luck on your journey! Best shot would definitely be to do do undergrad and MCAT in the us!
I am from India
Currently in 2nd year of my graduation of Applied Life sciences
Am I eligible to give MCAT ? I ll be finishing my graduation in 2023
And how do I prepare for it sample. question papers and materials ??
You can! The journey is definitely harder for international students but possible. From what I see, India does not have MCAT test centers so you will need to go to a different country to take the exam. In terms of preparation, look up what topics are covered on the exam and see what you already know/need to learn. I have another RUclips video on MCAT prep. There are official test papers on the aamc website (but you do need to purchase them)
Nice but bro you showed physics question of neet , you got them wrong? They were easy , neet aspirant here ❤️
It's now 2.2 million student take neet exam.
That’s crazy
Hey bro can u guide me or suggest me the process what I have to do or how should I start from 11th....for mcat exam?
Public med schools are around $35k per year
Have you done with your BS course? Have you joined any coaching for MCAT or universities were preparing you for MCAT?
I just self studied!
Hey I'm indian and also neet aspirant...cutoff is not same for everyone I mean it depends on the categories like lower caste people can get college with 480 or 500 marks but general category needs 610+ to hardly get a seat
Yes
Everything aside how do you edit your videos, I mean what software
Final cut
Hey arvind recently I knew about MCAT I don't know much about it will u plz tell the fees of mbbs after clearing it?
So in the US there is no MBBS - only MD. MD cost of tuition could range from 30-70 thousand dollars per year (but you may be eligible for financial aid)
👍👍👍
My dream of getting into the medical school is ruined due to my poor performance in the MCAT exam
I've been struggling to pass the mcat for over a year . Does anyone know any alternative to pass the mcat. please share 🙏
5:50 minimum of 600 score is required for mbbs... U can still get a college with 500 score but u won't get mbbs, u can take BDS (dental) then
can u please send a link where i can find past year mcat que for mbbs admission
If you check the aamc MCAT website you can find them! However you will need to purchase access to them.
Are indian mbbs degrees accepted for mcat Or do we still need to have a ug degree from us itself?
That’s a good question. I think UG in US is preferred, however I don’t know for sure.
Hey arvind brother I just want to ask how sit in mcat exam because I don't know about the procedure about MCAT exam and I want to give it this year Only please help me out and also tell me more About MCAT exam
Hey man you just need to look up information about it there’s plenty of info online
No bro we need to score 610+ to get minimalistic now ... mark my words ... data for neet at internet is old
Actualrch this year it's 2.1 million
Mbbs in India and pg in harvard how to do plz tell me
Arvind avargal can you suggest any books for mdcat biochemistry preparation.
Kaplan has a good book set that I recommend!
NEET is very memory based and questions confuse you a lot also the time pressure is massive, i gave MCAT too for fun, i found it pretty easy as compared to NEET but that's just my perspective.🚶🏻♀️
It’s a very different style - if you have strong critical thinking skills I can see why you’d find the MCAT is easier
Hii i need some help
Damn.. I wanna give the MCAT but it seems to be even much harder than Neet since you need to appear in 5 to 7 subjects additionally which are not even in your touch for the last two to three years or could be even more, since a students needs to appear the mcat at 21 Years age but still it seems harder..
But yeah, sir, Id just like to ask you something that
how did you manage to appear for the mcat with humanities
along with science,, I mean see it's obviously a bit tough right to mug up things, when you aren't in a touch with it for last 4 to 5 years ig
I am a 12th passsout student from india can you suggest how I can get into medical colleges in USA and which exams I need to take ....
I did my 2 years Diploma in Chemical laboratory..after my High school
Am i still eligible to study medicine..?
Because its says undergraduate degree require..so confused now
Yeah you need a bachelors degree with all the science prerequisites for med school
Since you got 5 right and 5 wrong, it does not mean you got 5/10 but actually 0/10 since every wrong answer means -1. So yes
🥲
How can we give mcat in india what are the requirements
How can i get into pre med collage ??
Bro your all points are right in the perspective of MCAT exam .....But
The indian NEET exam is more harder than MCAT because it gives more time and other material and other stuff provided to yours but in your preparation plese come to INDIA (i.e BHARAT ) for giving indian medical exam NEET you will feel the toughness of exam....
Because iam the aspirat for neet exam i know the competation over here ....
welcome to india 🙏🙏
Bro in mdcat there are also unseen questions of English and also of logical reasoning
I am from India .Please tell if I am eligible to give MCAT exam if I have an mbbs degree or I can give MCAT exam with any other undergraduate degree . If there is such undergraduate degree other mbbs in India please name some 🙏
Unfortunately I’m uncertain how the process in India works :( I think you need a bachelors in the US or Canada to really maximize your chances
Bro it's 2023 and
1) over 2 (almost 2.5) million students and participating
2) yes we do have more than 80k seats but the real fight is for only 15-20k seats which are available in government med. Colleges
3) If you get less than 610 They won't let you wander even at the college gate.
4) In order to get into most prestigious colleges above 705 or say 710 is required.
That’s actually insane
500s in no way can get to a govt med school (these are "prestigious")
And to get into a more prestigious among those govt ones you need above 630 or so
Oh wow I didn’t know that! I might need to update this video
Can please explain about ucat exam for Indian student
And process
Unfortunately I don’t know anything about the ucat
Hi can I give mcat just after high school to get into med school directly in USA (I’m from India)?

21 lakh not 15 lakh students in neet
Hey..I am a NEET aspirant for 2023.. if I get into some prestigious college and complete my mbbs , can I go to abroad?..
great question - theoretically you can, but it is becoming harder to get your licensure in the US I think. Still definitely possible though.

99+ percentile= gov college
98.80 percentile= minimum chance for mbbs prefer bds or others
>97 percentile= better luck next time
