Hey Jason you might not believe everything I'm about to tell you but really it is all true. I love metal but I also listen to and like alot of country music. I also like newer alternative rock like Clutch and Royal Blood. But I also like alot of that old stuff from the 80s as well. You know almost all of the same artist you mentioned. I also like 50s rock and roll and blues, that's the stuff that made me want to play guitar. Now here's the real shocker I am a long haired black man that 47 years old. Surprise. God bless you Jason.
Thank you, my brother! And dude, I used to hate country music but I'm actually listening to some these days, and playing some! Specifically, Blake Shelton's 'The More I Drink' - I love that song, and I'm thinking of doing a metal cover of it!
Dude, there was a Bluegrass band playing that night too and they were amazing!! Lot of talent that goes into that and this one guy was shredding on the mandolin!
Hey Jason! Long time Subscriber here, love your channel! Rad!!!!! I’m 49 & still ride BMX & I’m also a fan of 80’s music. Duran Duran was my thing growing up until I discovered Metallica! I decided a few years ago to start my own channel. You, among some of my other favorite RUclips artist’s have been an inspirations! Keep up the good work!
I rock out on my acoustic all the time and enjoy it just as much (maybe even more, if I'm honest) as wailing on my electric guitars. I will say, I'm jealous of your singing voice and how good you are at playing and singing at the same time. Never been able to figure out how to do both simultaneously haha EDIT: My other favourite genre is folk music. I'm a huge fan of folk metal bands too :)
Locally where I live, sometimes there are Blues jam sessions, they'd be great for getting into playing lead guitar in front of an audience...I will have to get a strat or something, I don't think it fitting to arrive with my RR Vee metal axe lol...Good singing
Thanks, dude. Yeah it's great just to get out and play! Even if it's not metal, just being up there jamming in front of people is an awesome feeling! So dude, I want to see you get that strat and go for it!
I always tell people, don’t be so closed minded when it comes to music. There is a lot of good music out there, in a multitude of genres.. if music gives good vibes enjoy it, dont close yourself off from certain genre’s because its not “cool” or “manly”. I grew up in listening to my dads music( supertramp, elo, manfred manns earth band, elvis, steve miller, a buckload of country music)..and fairly early discovered metal and it was love at first hear. I just love alll kinds of music, if music moves me... i like it.. my life pretty much evolves around metal and metalcore but i can just easily listen to poets of the fall and thorougly enjoy it (they have an awesome 80’s vibe btw)
You're right man, it's important to expand and be open to other genres. As a musician, it only makes you better. But I used to be extremely close-minded musically. I've just recently branched out and now I've formed a group with a good friend and we're going some 80s and even country covers! It's a side project and by no means will it proceed my metal projects, but it's a lot of fun.
Sounds really good. Ever think of doing an acoustic album? I'd say 95% of metal fans like the acoustic just as much. Diary of a madman!
Steve Contreras Steve, I certainly have! I’m not quite sure when I will fit that in but it will eventually happen!
Hi Jason, I'd love to hear Never Leave in a full mix, kind of like a semi power ballad type of thing, it would sound great..!! 🎤🎸🍻
Dude, yes I plan to record this song at some point. It doesn't quite fit my genre as a solo artist, but I may throw it in any way!

My other genre is chiptune/keygen music!
I had to look that up, dude! So this is like video game music from my era..Atari, first-generation Nintendo and Sega! Pretty cool!
80s pop, 80s house, trance, techno, and patriotic country music (not that pick up truck love shit) are my poison besides grindcore and death metal.
Lol...pick up truck music! Dude, I like some 80s trance stuff too!
