Somehow, and I am still really not sure how this happened, I ended up at Oakley Hall near Basingstoke on 28th September 2023 for the SMMT Drive Day South, where we got to drive and film a number of different cars from different manufacturers, having around just half an hour with each of them to film a review. Naturally, things took a bit of a shambolic turn, as they usually do on this channel...
The next car was the 2023 SsangYong (also known as a KGM) Tivoli 1.5 T-GDi Ultimate Nav Automatic. Be prepared for some very different styling, new heater controls, some agreeable wheels and very little of any interest at all. Nothing untoward, then!

I did test drive way back in 2015. I like the look of the new model. Nice review 😊

Really do like the front of this new model, it kind of reminds me of the Kia Soul, looks good in that colour as well.
    A excellent review as always.

No problem at all, sir! Yes, I suppose it does look a bit like a Kia Soul. More from SsangYong/KGM to come soon.

An interesting review of an interesting (and skilfully updated) car, sir. I'm glad they're not using the "KG Mobility" name in the UK!

I was extremely blessed to be able to film this brand new facelifted car three days after it was registered! Yes, it's a very compelling package now, building on the strengths that the Tivoli has always had.

It's definitely a bit of a niche car, I do like the new style heater control panel, which operated smoothly? You really do get a lot of nice features on these for the price.

Yes, I forgot to say that the manual Ultimate Nav Tivoli is only £23,000 which is almost the same price as our car would have been new in 2019, when adjusted for inflation, so actually these are still very good value.

Nice review. I know it's an automatic but is it a robotised or torque converter. I believe the earlier Tivoli's were torque is this new one the same ?

It's the same gearbox as in the Tivoli that was facelifted in 2020 and has just been replaced.

Only right and proper that you get 1st dibs for this car , for the way you’ve championed the brand .

Hopefully there is an option, tucked away in a submenu somewhere, that lets you change the sound of the indicators so that they do not sound like a cuckoo clock. I know that's quite a small detail, but it would drive me absolutely scranny, and it would stop me buying the car.

I will ask the SsangYong press office... The pre-facelift 2019 Tivoli we have has a different indicator sound.

I can see your kid’s driving you nuts with that bungee cord on the back of the seats.

We are taking my eighteen month old nephew in the back of our Tivoli to the Peak District next month. I hope he doesn't play with the bungee cords on the way!

On this model, or rather on all models with the petrol 1.5 T-GDI, I am very bothered by the inappropriate transmission and the huge consumption. Compare with other brands. Focus on maximum speed, as well as consumption. You will find that there are very many cars that drive better, with significantly lower fuel consumption. So for me personally, yes - subjectively, I prefer cars that have reasonable fuel consumption and better driving performance. A car with 160 HP must be able to handle approx. 200 km/h without any problems and with consumption - on average, approx. 7 l/100 km.
