Hello. Thanks for the great tutorials. I want to ask how to do the thrown ring if I'm using one shuttle attached to the ball thread. Appreciate your reply.
Your welcome. When working with a ball and shuttle and you want to do a thrown ring you have 2 choices. First being use can use the ball thread and tat with it as you would a shuttle. Which can be cumbersome to do. The other is more simple. Do a shoelace trick and that will switch the shuttle thread to where you need it to be and then do another shoelace trick after you close the ring in order to put the shuttle back where it was. I have a video on this on the beginning class ruclips.net/video/VQ2SwaH89Y8/видео.html I hope this helps you and Happy tatting
After you do the first set of stitches on the chain with the front side - back side tatting, then you have to make a picot, do you make the picot regular, or do you have to reverse the picot part also?
+Gemini Dolly Hi there and thank you for watching. The picot is strictly bare space thread when you draw up the double stitches on each side of the bare space of thread the picot is seen. You would continue the fs/bs technique throughout the chain when you come to the picot leave the bare space for the picot and continue the fs/bs technique. I hope that helps you. If not feel free to let me know. Happy Tatting
For this technique would the rings continue to be tatted with the normal stitch but the chains would do the front side backside?
Thank you, Georgia!
