- The plaintiff and defendant work together. The plaintiff says the defendant got drunk at a company Christmas party and threw up on him. He got his suit jacket dry cleaned, but not all the stains came out. He’s suing for the cost of a new suit. The defendant argues he apologized to the plaintiff several times and offered to pay for the cleaning.

This is too petty for me.
Yes it is lol smh 🤦🏽♀️
You’ve got that right.
@@SnowPink90I agree !! The plaintiff is a bitter old man. He clearly wasn’t happy with how much he got
Youve never been puked on
173 dollars he cleaned up
He left a suit that someone threw up on in his car for 2 days.....of course there would be a stain.
If the defendant brought that up, it would've helped his case even further.
BROUGHT IT UP. GOOD ONE
Not 2 mention the smell.😷
And the smell… THE SMELL🤢🤢🤮!!
my ocd ass would have just thrown it away and count it a loss, I don't buy nice things xD
I wouldn't recommend getting drunk at a company party. Too much potential to cause problems at your job.
I'd tell my staff if you have too much cheer and suddenly have the courage to tell the boss what you think of him, you'll be updating your resume!
Don’t go
this
I disagree. Ive been to a few and its quite fun and unless you get in a fist fight or something like that, the goodwill and camaraderie among coworkers pay as dividends for years.
Unless you live in Japan...
If it had been MY suit, I would have hosed it down after I got home and then taken it to the cleaners on Monday. The plaintiff CHOSE to let a vomit-covered garment fester in a car for nearly two days. He didn't want a CLEAN suit--he wanted a BRAND NEW one. Thank goodness, the judge followed the law.
My thoughts too. He shouldn’t have gotten squat
wool shrinks when introduced to water. he would have both discoloration and shrinkage problem.
So he saw this guy coming with his mouth covered and instead of clearing out of the way he got directly in the way and then he leaves the jacket in his car all weekend? I think if he can afford a $1000 suit he can afford to eat it.
My thoughts exactly! If I see someone about to throw up and they’re bee-lining it, I’m thinking they’re heading to the bathroom. So he decided at that moment that he was going to go to the bathroom too? Weirdo.
The stains could have also been caused by his delay in getting it to the cleaners.
Bingo! I’ve done that. Wash it off immediately it’s not noticeable, let one fester for a couple days by accident it was ruined.
That's exactly why it stained. I am pretty sure most people have gotten someone's vomit on them at some point (your own, kids, etc). You don't just leave clothes in a bag with vomit for two flipping days.
He could have washed that jacket off IN THE BATHROOM he was in when it got vomit on it. Nah, I'ma let it chill in my truck for two days😂😂😂😂
The suit looks good I don't see any stains
I thought the circles were the stains but that’s supposed to indicate where the stains are 🤣
Why didn't she take into account that the lady at the venue offered to pay for the cleaning?
That's hearsay, and I doubt that happened. He would've went after them to pay for it if it were true.
He looks just like his grandmother. That’s her baby! 😂❤
Plaintiff is way too old to be squaring up 🙄
Defendant is way too young to be shaving his head.
You do know some of us are folliclly challenge at a young age and wear our bold heads with pride... and yes we are ok with😅
@@wezzman1 damn that's rough!
That young guy would’ve kicked his behind 😂😂😂
All I needed to know about the plaintiff was he harassed and bullied the defendant so bad he had to change workplaces.
The man got sick at a party. And one of his first responses was he should have beat his ass?
His wife must feel so lucky every second of every day.
No, he said his coworkers told him he should have beaten him up. He was getting fired up by the people around him.
How exactly did he harrass and bully the defendant? Maybe I missed that part.
4:20 That is RIDICULOUS!!!! You would take the suitjacket home and IMMEDIATELY rinse off all the vomit so that the stomach acid is removed and diluted by the water. That's the LEAST you should do. You don't leave it sitting on the jacket for 2+ days!!!!
I think it’s fair for him to pay for the dry cleaning but not a whole new suit
I don’t even add coworkers on social media lol
I don't neither lol.......nope
who even does that lmao
@@cocotrain2002 you’d be surprised I get asked for my social media info all the time… lowkey block them before they even get to search me up 😆I’m nursing student also and I don’t add classmates either… let alone company parties
Same, it's not worth the trouble.
The suit looks clean but I wouldn’t be inclined to wear it again, it would gross me out
The fact his response was he should’ve fought him?!
If the spots have to be circled but you still can’t see the stains… 🙄
Now thats a lawSUIT!
😂😂😂😂😂
Creep suit!
Good one !
😂😂😂
Pun intended
he said at the end that it has stains all over it as he is pressing the stained part against himself.
It's been washed. The stains wont transfer!😂
Plaintiff is kind of an ass. He actually contemplated fighting the guy? For real? Although he does have a sharp tie.
Plaintiff comes off as a super loser. He acted like he was at some fancy Gala instead of a lame work office Christmas party. Just ask for a replacement jacket, not a whole new suit...geez.
@@Shellygrrl2573😂I agree with you💯
@@Shellygrrl2573😂😂😂 truth!
And bullied a construction worker so bad he needed to transfer.
A construction worker.
@@scotthewitt258 that part got me too. A construction site involves a lot of moving around as opposed to being confined to a cubicle if you were in an office. Like did he follow him around.
The plaintiff is suing because he’s angry at his coworker. Not because there’s any damage to his suit. When he said “I should’ve fought him”, that tells me he’s acting out of anger not because of the facts.
The Plaintiff is being very greedy
He should have given him the old suit if he's paying for a replacement lol
Judge Judy did exactly that in a similar case. Heck, Judge Milian has done that before as well!
Cannot get the value when there is no receipt. And it was 4 years old. And he thinks that the suit he had on, 18 years ole, makes a difference. NOT A PENNY MORE. I love her rough justice.
Defendant would be a lot more fun to hang out with than the plaintiff.
I'd avoid them both at parties.
He throws up on people.
@@ChasRiaStJohn 😂
I wouldn't want to hang with him.
If your idea of fun is to get so wasted that you puke then ok, enjoy.
Why not rinse it right away 🤷♀️ then get it cleaned
He lied about not having a receipt. He definitely could have found the receipt for an online purchase.
he got it from a thift store or estate sell
he might sue the guy who did the circles on his suit lol
At best he gets ROUGH JUSTICE.
No new suit
JM drives me crazy that she always is shocked that people don't have a receipt it's not a $1000 item. Once a warranty is invalid, i tend not to keep the receipt.
This is why I avoid office/company parties because of behavior like this!
Same. It's a waste of time
I dont trust humans 😂😂
My opinion on company parties: I don't want to see a lot of these people at work. Why would I want to waste my free time seeing them?!
@@Quartzquiz333 I honestly view coworkers and friends as two different types of people. Coworkers are the people who you work with professionally for at least 40 hours a week and nothing else. Friends are people that you hit off with well and want to socialize with because they seem like great company to be around.
@@matthewlieberman9535That's EXACTLY how I see it!
Its very sweet that he brought his grandmother
it was, doug talking about why, WHY not?
The word that comes to mind of the plaintiff is crotchety
Open bar is always dangerous 😂
That guy wants a new suit on stains you can’t see. BTW a $1138 sit on line with no receipts and used .
I love Douglas and JM together ❤
Come on, Judge Milian.
Obviously the used one that was $70 instead of $140 had been puked on.
😂😂
Crazy the waitress said they would pay.
It's only 1 persons fault.
That said he let it bake! In the car!
Yes, rinse immediately under cold water, unless there was beer or wine, if wine pour, white wine over the top.
Plaintiff should not have gotten the money. He should have left the bathroom instead of standing there. He was a jerk
I would've given him the 23 the cleaning fees
Are you drunk too??
Spoiler alert! Thanks
Are you drunk too?
@blackberry1670 no, but apparently you are.
Grandma is totally a fan.. that's why she's there.
The plaintiff had a good case but was a real jerk about it. The defendant should have asked the judge for the suit--which he just effectively purchased in the lawsuit--and then worn it outside in the hallway and let Doug ask him about it (where are the stains, Doug?. See--no stains!). If he had done that, there may have been a fistfight after all.
Kramer threw up on Susan (Lily) episode! Thieves! 😂😂😂
😂
😂
who the bleep would keep a receipt for their clothes for 4 yrs? In case someone got drunk at an office party and barfed on you:?? NOT many!!
i can pull up recipets for onlline purchases from 5 years ago in my email. not a big ask
I was projectile vomited on as i was passing someone in the hall in high school. Chunks got in my mouth! 😱😭🤢
Its been 35 years. Some things you do NOT ever forget. Gross.
Note to all of the young people when you are at a company party no more than two drinks Max or you will be the talk of the town come Monday morning
They're both wrong. Mr Fancysuit left a vomit covered suit in his car for 2 days, I don't even want to know what that smelled like and nonwonder the stain set
Mr Projectile Vomit should have taken care of the dry cleaning. Shameful to be in court after throwing up on somebody. Just get it cleaned. No way I'd go on tv to admit I vomited on someone
Happy Wednesday everyone
👋 👋
Happy Wednesday
Feliz Miercoles 🎉🖐🏼🎉
Happy Wednesday
Happy Wednesday to you too!! 🙂
The suit should have gone to the kid since he paid for it.
7:59
Why would she need to be on SNL because of saying that 😂
I know! That was stupid.
How could the defendant not think he owed anything? He threw up on a suit and just like you can’t make someone go to your mechanic if you damage their car, you can’t insist someone go to your dry cleaners either. He didn’t owe what the plaintiff wanted but to think he owed nothing? No sense of responsibility! No class! The plaintiff was over the top but come on- you owed something!
Yes, new suit!
Looks like the young guy is wearing a clip-on shirt.
I don't think I would want to wear something that somebody else had puked on, I would want a whole new outfit. There should be an exception for that in the law!
No I'm not Going to wear it, it has stains all over the back of it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This was the funniest lawsuit ever
Old clothes these people are greedy
The plaintiff was just miffed cos he got vomited 🤢 on lol
If I deemed something so valuable to me where I would sue someone who would've ruined the item, I would keep a physical receipt in my files.
I don't get drunk at company party unless the VP is lit 😂
You are getting not even $200 😂😂
Had a girl at a wedding spill her hot chocolate all over my brand new suit and the dry cleaner couldn’t save it. I was upset but not enough to sue the girl lol
I don't see any beetroot stains😂😂😂
I loved the defendant 😅. The plaintiff was a whiny old man , needs to grow up(it’s a suit, man was drunk-get over it).😂😂😂😂
The entitlement from this guy. To think you don't owe somebody something after you destroy their stuff.
He wanted a $1000 for an 18yr old suit. Paleeaase 😆
LESSON: if you are going to get drunk at a company party, do it a summertime POOL party, not at a formal Christmas party.
How the heck does the judge expect someone to have a receipt for a four year old suit? You don’t keep a receipt for years and years in case someone throws up on it.
I don't think he's entitled to a new suit 😏🤢 Gross!!!!
You don't?? Really?
@@blackberry1670No and here’s why, it was an accident. He didn’t intentionally vomit on the plaintiff, so to sue him for $1,000 for a *new* suit when his was 18 years old and had depreciated in value, is ridiculous
@riggamorrischan he intentionally drank in excess instead of exhibiting some self-control among his coworkers at their company Christmas party. The amount he was requesting for the suit was ridiculous, but that was because he was disgusted at the younger man's behavior.
the defendant has a likable appeal to him
I AGREE, in my comment i mentioned a nice suit does wonders but it cant give charisma
I love how outside the courtroom some were like "no new suit" until it happens to them.😅
Some people are waaaay too particular.
I can't believe that the Judge keeps asking people for receipts for things that they bought years ago. I mean who keeps receipts for everything that they bought because that would mean millions of receipts in a lifetime. It should be enough to prove that the litigant actually suffered a loss and they should be compensated something. Lots of time the Judge gives the litigant nothing without a receipt but how is that fair.
He should have gotten the suit
Who keeps receipt over 4 years ? Or even a year
I hate when judges ask that “receipt “ question
email
He should get the money just for being puked 🤢 on!
You can't take it with you when you die. 🙏. However you can take the good act of not being such a bully over your suit
Ewwwwww the judge touching the jacket
He kept the suit 2 days in a bag in his car!!! He could’ve soaked it with something 😊
It's the case of "This case suits you just fine". 😂
He shouldn't have even gotten the dry cleaning cost, the venue offered to pay it, they obviously overserved a guest. He deserved and received a sincere apology. He already took out his pound of flesh in harrassment. Hope he continues to live the life he deserves.
didnt the defendant just buy his suit off him? why is the plaintiff walking out with it?
Alcohol and company parties can be good and bad. Been there done that. Should've thought that through.
Good 👍👍 job judge
Shouldn't the defendant get the jacket?
I agree! Not a whole new suit, but a jacket - sure.
bought it online, yet no receipt?
yeah, ok. 🙄
While the defendant should be liable for the cleaning, if the jacket is ruined, I would actually argue that that would be partially the plaintiff's fault because who lets $1,000 jacket sit in a bag in their car for 2 days? You might have been better off taking it out of the bag and laying it in a tub or something
Yes.
No damage on the suit and he wins ? I could see paying for dry cleaning . And shouldnt the defendant get to keep the suit ? Confusing judgement
Why should anyone have to wear anything someone else puked on.
Old suit no dice. Judge is smoking 🔥 hot. WIN.
This isn't about the stain. It's about wearing a suit that's been puked on by someone else. Even if they got the stain out, I wouldn't want to wear that thing. Give the guy some money for crying out loud.
This part!!!
But you still don’t get a new suit. Do you get a new pair of shoes if you step in poop on accident?
@@shadowxoxo not new. If its dog poop, i can deal with that. Human poop i think the shoes would go in the garbage.
He should of gave the defendant the suit, because he still going to wear it and technically get 2 suits
Stain may have been there from previous wear 🤷🏽♀️
Parties have to try to avoid or mitigate damages.
I believe if the defendant would have told the guy in a private matter I think the defendant would have paid him off
As a suit lover, there are more important things in life than bringing a case like that to court. Are people that petty/greedy?
The defendant should’ve asked for the suit lol
A whole case over puke 🤣
I had this happen to me
I tried a few dry cleaners
Good as new
Stuffed shirt wants to sue for a stuffed suit
Beautiful suit!!!!! I'm in love!!!
I disagree with the Judge for the first time. I could have given a judgment of at least, 600 dollars so that the young man would think twice before getting drunk next time. I like him a lot though, with his cheeky smile and nice grandma.
I think he was given a fair penalty. It is a nice suit but couldn’t prove the cost. Could’ve bought it on EBay or men’s consignment. Also I think the defendant is looking at his actions and probably won’t get carried away next time. Best to learn young!😊
