  • The plaintiff and defendant work together. The plaintiff says the defendant got drunk at a company Christmas party and threw up on him. He got his suit jacket dry cleaned, but not all the stains came out. He’s suing for the cost of a new suit. The defendant argues he apologized to the plaintiff several times and offered to pay for the cleaning.

Who keeps receipt over 4 years ? Or even a year
I hate when judges ask that “receipt “ question

He shouldn't have even gotten the dry cleaning cost, the venue offered to pay it, they obviously overserved a guest. He deserved and received a sincere apology. He already took out his pound of flesh in harrassment. Hope he continues to live the life he deserves.

While the defendant should be liable for the cleaning, if the jacket is ruined, I would actually argue that that would be partially the plaintiff's fault because who lets $1,000 jacket sit in a bag in their car for 2 days? You might have been better off taking it out of the bag and laying it in a tub or something

This isn't about the stain. It's about wearing a suit that's been puked on by someone else. Even if they got the stain out, I wouldn't want to wear that thing. Give the guy some money for crying out loud.

I disagree with the Judge for the first time. I could have given a judgment of at least, 600 dollars so that the young man would think twice before getting drunk next time. I like him a lot though, with his cheeky smile and nice grandma.

I think he was given a fair penalty. It is a nice suit but couldn’t prove the cost. Could’ve bought it on EBay or men’s consignment. Also I think the defendant is looking at his actions and probably won’t get carried away next time. Best to learn young!😊
