There is a difference between a preference and a criteria. A preference is I like oranges more than apples but I’ll eat an apple if it’s good. A criteria would be I can’t eat apples. So when people say they have a dating preference they really mean they have a criteria. There’s nothing wrong with a criteria but calling it a preference isn’t the right word for it. Also having a genitalia criteria isn’t the same as having a trans criteria. It’s all about wording and how we say things.
