first feature for ddj sx! Disconnect the USB cable from the controller, continue to hold down the button shift and play, turn on the controller while holding down the shift and play a few seconds, then press the pads to select backlight, then turn off the controller, connect the USB cable
I haven't used the 62, but I have a 57. I think they both have their applications depending on what you plan to do. The pads on the SX are nice, but you kinda have the same mappable triggers on the 62. I do enjoy the bigger pads though.
In all honesty, sync doesn't bug me like a lot of people. I think any tool is useful in their own way. What's funny though, is that I still don't even know how to properly use it...lol!
I actually should have used the sync, since I had the camera in my other hand. Funny thing is, that I didn't even know how to use it when I made this video...LOL!
I put this video together very quickly for the sole purpose of showing some features quickly. By no means was i trying to mix or create anything. Trust me... my mixing abilities trump this video by far...lol! And that sync button... don't know what it is... I've never used it ;) Waste of space to me, but that's another topic...ha!
I had my phone in one hand and trying to mess around with the other. In hindsight, I should have just used a tripod and did a thorough walk-thru, but I was so excited when I first got it, that I just wanted to throw some footage out there. It was a stab at an initial review...
Thanks for doing this vid! One question I had, when u set the auto loops, how do you know how many beats it's set for? is it shown on the unit or the software?
It's all good. If you use sync I have no hate for ya. Everyone uses the tools in different ways and to each their own. I guess I just like the challenge of matching up the beats and being creative on the fly without sync since I was never 'raised' with the button.
Using a sync button is NOT being a DJ if thats the case I may as well get my mum on the decks to press the " sync " an push the cross fader over. Beat matching is a skill and is the hole point in DJing lol. Fair play man good vid !! I sold my 2000's and now looking to get this How would you compare the 2000's and this ??
can u help me i use 2 deck when am mixing but the ddj-sx i see 4 deck when am connect how to use 2 deck only and see two deck only on my screen other from 4 deck help plzz
I know right? Most people don't realize it was put there as a tool, not as a way to cheat the system. The DJ is only as good as his DJ'ing, not his sync button.
I had an issue with the microphone on the sx. But I had the 1st generation of them. It was a known issue. I think they fixed it on subsequent versions. I never had any issues with the controller or any of it's function outside of that.
oh common - it's a old button - but if you use the sync button mostly everyone could be a dj.. why use it? you don't know what to do and djing gets very boring then! sorry for spaming but i hate this responses!
In all honesty, out of the ones you've mentioned, I've only used the DDJ-SX. Having done plenty of events with it, I'm still very pleased!

It's just the classic "Aw Yeah." Search around for it and you'll find millions of samples of it.

very nice lol, i ordered the sx today and will be my first controller. ;-)
I think it's still $999 most places, but can be had for as little as $799 if you search around enough.

How much is it ?
Have you ever had any firmware or control issues with this controller???
I honestly don't even have it anymore. Upgraded to the SZ years ago. No issues with the SZ
Cutmaster Music did you ever have any problems with the SX? Firmware or anything???
