    This was great tennis. All court play and not just staying glued on the baseline bashing away. Today's professional tennis is boring, I really miss the tennis of the 60's 70's and 80's

    How the hell did the winner at 00:43 get called out!?

      It did indeed look like a bad call and the chair umpire had a good look at it.

    Thanks man I love watching Gilbert play. He’s almost what would happen if a club player was able to go pro, if that makes sense?

    • @JK-vc7ie
      @JK-vc7ie Год назад

      You are crazy, man. Gilbert plays junk balls during the rally as a tactic, but then hits world class passing shots when he needs to. He has world class game, he just uses the junk ball strategy and tactics.

    • @craigmorgan1617
      @craigmorgan1617 Год назад

      I agree with you he is world class but his game is not you typical pro game. He almost looks like a club player in terms of flashes of brilliance but his brilliance is at will.

    • @JK-vc7ie
      @JK-vc7ie Год назад

      @@craigmorgan1617 For sure. The regular rally ball strokes he hits in the middle of a random point are slower than a decent club player. For example, I hit much harder than that and I'm nothing special. He would beat me 6-0, 6-0
      I totally get your point. My point is that he's sneaky. He has those ATP shots in his back pocket, even though he mostly hits pure junk as a tactic. It's wild. I read his book too. It's great.
      Watching Becker lose his s#it is hilarious. He's thinking he's playing against an actual club player. But he's not. Becker knows this, of course, but it's still there. And Gilbert keeps hitting this awful junk. Which makes Becker more impatient and frustrated.

    • @craigmorgan1617
      @craigmorgan1617 Год назад

      I think it’s that ability that marks him as the greatest tennis mind of all time. He’s playing grandmasters of chess but he’s playing 3D chess. I imagine if he had the talent of a Becker or more recently a Wawrinka he would be the GOAT. I’m not even saying one of the big three because his mind and their talent would be ridiculous.

      @@craigmorgan1617 You are overstating it. It's not like he was some club player out there on tour, even though he hit junk balls. He hit real ATP shots when he needed them. Also, it's not like he's some genius working with rocket science. It's more about him putting a lot of work into tactics and strategy. Not enough players do that at any level.

    yo no entiendo, no se sancionan cuando el jugador protesta desaforadamente al umpire??....cual es el limite para los worning por el amor de dios!!!.6:00..y ni siquiera tenia razon Brad Gilbert porque la pelota se vio que pico claramente en la linea....realmente se les ha permitido ciertos comportamientos sobre a jugadores de EEUU, ej Mc Enroe....nadie dio nunca ninguna explicacion....
