The end of CM Punk's title reign was very anti-climatic. Losing the title to a returning part timer and not even given the spot to fight for it at Mania... all to have Cena vs Rock II... that Once in a Lifetime that happened Twice!
Because even though they had rikishi say he did it. Which he did. They thought that he he would be a good heel. So they had triple h be the mastermind behind it all. So maybe it was because having triple h being the mastermind is what made it a good story.
The biggest anti-climax was the end of the blue meanie/jbl rivalry. Its little known but at ECW One Night Stand 2005 JBL attacked the Blue Meanie for real.
considering it was likely not supposed to end the way it did and lesnar most likely got too carried away i have to totally agree it could of gone so much better.
The Streak being broken was the most, and maybe the only, legitimately shocking moment in wrestling since I started watching as a kid. If anything it's the EXACT opposite of everything else in this video... We took it for granted the Streak would never end, the audience wasn't expecting anything exciting, and we got something that blew our minds.
When rey mysterio won his wwe title and lost it the same night to JOHN CENA I thought rey would finally get a good title run but no John cena has to ruin everything
Lesnar vs Ambrose at mania this year. it was advertised as one of the main events but it goes on so early and instead of the "grueling brawl" we were promised, Dean just got his ass kicked! my words after the match were "what the fuck was that?"
Kevin Nash In short, he lacks in about every aspect of wrestling enough to stop him from being good. But not enough to make him bad. He's just meh. He's always been meh.
There's still some speculation that Lesnar straight up TOOK that win from Undertaker, taking advantage of the "accidental" concussion. Heyman even hints towards this in interviews/public appearances.
its funny because whatculture always talks about how the crowd didnt like sheamus vs. daniel bryan lasting 18 seconds, but if you watch it, the crowd was going nuts.
Lesner vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20. It could have been Epic but instead we got a match (in name only) that neither man cared about since they were both leaving the company the next day
I used to love telling fans who hadn't seen the Corporate Ministry angle to watch the payoff with the higher power being revealed. Reactions were always hilarious except 1 mate who actually guessed it would be Vince & his argument was "It seems like something he would do"
Luton's airport alone makes it the worst place in the modern world, I don't care how many gang shootings there are in Detroit, I would take that over having to deal with the torture of going through Luton Airport just to get on a shit EasyJet flight.
I really liked Fake Diesel and Razor thing. Especially the part when Monsoon, Lawler and Kelly kept talking that they are not the real guys and heel JR was like "Oh fuck it, we own the copyright".
I was just about to say that. Seriously, WWE built up for a year who had hit Austin, then it's not only revealed to be Rikishi, but he has no cogent reason why he did it. Little wonder it was changed to him just being a pawn for Triple H.
The reason for The Undertaker's loss against Lesnar were anti-climatic was that it was against a part timer... If it was against some young and upcoming star then this one thing would pretty much be enough the push the lad's career to new hights for a good long period
Here's a good one that's also painful to think about...William Regal getting suspended right in the middle of a massive push. He was the GM of Raw and had just won the King of the Ring tournament.
Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton at Survivor Series 2010. The "Free or Fired" angle. I was expecting a Cena heel turn or a surprising return at least. And all i got was a Cena supposedly getting fired, just to be on every single RAW after. Haven't really been hyped for a wrestling match since...
Aces and Eights left me un satisfied. Bully Ray getting caught up in himself is what killed me though. He basically kicked everyone out, ended aces and eight and they just need MR.Anderson to win a stipulated match to finalize it. I loved everything about Aces and Eights but they had a major downfall and the story was ruined
Adam's how-wwe-should-have-booked-the-higher-power idea was amazing. Its a real shame WWF/E didnt do something along those lines. I thought the fake diesel/ramon angle was kinda cool. It was a direct warning shot to WcW
NAH, TAKER LOOSING HIS STREAK WAS JUST PERFECT. like triple H said : kayfabe is dead. Now with defeating the streak, and busting Orton open which was a WORK btw, brings real life heat to brock lesnar. Which is perfect. Blurring the lines between real and kayfabe is thew new way to make people watch. Just like the Miz and Daniel Bryan promo.
Um, Not entirely sure exactly what you have been watching, but Lesnar started getting cheered after he beat the streak. If they let him do that just so he could get some heat, then it failed spectacularly.
Your reaction, is what the WWE need. You have real life anger against Brock Lesnar. Brock lesnar is a certified Heel. Plus not many can match his in ring skills. Even Kurt Angle said it, right now he is throwing 20 suplexes a match and makes it boring because HE IS A HEEL. He is a UFC and NCAA champion, brock knows more moves than 80% of the locker room. Don't play yourself.
His gimmick is " a shoot wrestler who don't give a fuck". Sets up perfectly a match with samoa joe or a returning Kurt Angle. Or even better, throw him in a feud with anyone ( say a Shinsuke or Sami zayn) and you can guarantee that whoever goes against Brock will get cheered a lot.
+Kakuta54 being a heel isn't an excuse to have boring matches, all in all we watch wrestling to be entrained, and recently Lesnar hasn't been entertaining. Knowing moves isn't the same as doing them all we're getting is suplexes. WWE don't need real life heat, kayfabe died a long time ago and the fans accept it. No one misses it really so no, I don't want to see Brock Lesnar cut open Randy Orton's head with his elbow and leave him bleeding really badly because "he's a heel", that's not entertaining, it's worrying, it's dangerous and it's completely unnecessary.
I went to uni there. It was always very grey. Every time I'd get off the train or walk out the mall the sky would be grey and I'd think it was about to rain.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sting's WCW return where he dropped down on that rope was so great. I was at that show too. I saw a lot of WCW shows. Some were terrible, some okay, and some were legitimately great. That was a very good show.
Its because Detroit is the butt of many crap places to live jokes over here Simon, that and its infamously known for high crime and the setting for Robocop
It was also the setting for the Justice League of Detroit line up . . . I'm going to shut up now as I just remembered that was the Dork Age for Justice League.
Dan Matha's debut. Every single return that's announced rather than being a surprise. Apollo Crews on the main roster. Brock vs Orton at summerslam. Goldberg's return, again should have been a surprise
Vince's son, Mask Kane's return, Jeff Hardy's last WWE run, the second WWE NWO run, ECW, Rated RKO, the Nexus, RVD's title run...the list can go on and on and on lol
The Nexus angle was anti-climatic throughout.....they were unstoppable until SummerSlam when when Cena buried the whole lot then when Barrett went to go after the WWE Championship, Orton (the Champ) got into Cena's head that he would cheat Orton out of the Championship since Cena forcefully joined Nexus before Survivor Series with Cena being Freed if Barrett won the Championship or (kayfabe) Fired if Orton retained, ofcourse Orton retained cos Cena screwed Barrett and tried every opportunity to make the Nexus day a living hell....Barrett failed to win in a rematch the next night Raw thanks to Cena then the Miz cashes in his MITB and wins it from Orton...WHY....WHY THE MIZ......we would've seen the first ever WWE World Champion from the UK....but WWE always has to screw it up.....the Angle was anti-climatic and bollocks from start to finish. There we are.
+LEGENDARY IceMan it's a split personality really, sometimes he's idiotic goofball and sometimes he's and intense cool guy you can get behind its creative being inconsistent really
Damn! "Thanks" for reminding me on this Big Show screwing DB stuff. I've been working for years now to forget it. My therapist told me yesterday that I'm finally over it. Those were hard times for WWE fans.
After Undertaker kicked out of Sweet Chin Music + Pedigree combo,i was sure the streak would never end,and Undertaker would just retire after a few more matches.
Even worse about Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan match was the fact there was a match featuring Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos. That match was several minutes (but lefts face it felt longer than it really did).
There's a bunch of more anti climaxes. Goldberg vs Brock. Ambrose vs Brock. The Unveiling of the Universal Championship. Jericho vs Triple H at Wrestlemania X8. Miz vs Cena at Wrestlemania 27. The Nexus. Royal Rumble 2014 and 2015. Many many more.
I was at Mania 25, I was so excited for Triple H/Orton (I didn't even care about Shawn/Taker beforehand), I couldn't believe the letdown for that main event.
I stopped watching WWF many years ago but from watching your videos I think hornswaggle or whatever he's called was put in just to troll the fans. It cracks me up everytime he pops up.
I was watching Wrestlemania with a friend. He was a fan of Daniel Brian. I wasn't. I loved the 18 second match. He didn't. I couldn't help but chant "Yes! Yes! Yes!" after that. I warmed up to him eventually though. His character is easily one of the most improved of the decade.
The Anonymous Raw GM might have been anti-climatic, but it sure was entertaining to watch Edge meltdown and destroy the laptop while said laptop pleads for him not to.
Regarding the Higher Power storyline, it would've made more sense to have the Higher Power be the Million Dollar Man. The story behind it being that the Million Dollar Man wanted to take over the WWF and get revenge on Austin for throwing his match with Savio Vega three years earlier so he'd be free of the Million Dollar Man as his manager as he said that he'd leave the WWF if Austin lost his match with Savio Vega.
Or Bret Hart. I know he would never return to WWF but you got to consider the Montreal Screwjob. Not to mention Bret had history with Stone Cold in the past. What also made more sense was that it should've been Jake "The Snake" Roberts like Adam pointed out in his How WWE Should've Booked videos.
Zoukon101 The problem is, Jake wasn't mentally stable enough at the time to be relied upon to be the higher power. It would've been cool of course but reality always ruins good ideas for storylines.....
There were a fair amount of rumors the "higher power" was going to be Don Callis aka The Jackal aka Cyrus the Virus. He might have been able to pull it off. His "Network mouthpiece" character in ECW was some fantastic heel work.
The worst part of The Streak ending, was that Undertaker was built so strong, always getting the better of Lesnar leading up to the match. Lesnar didn't get any damage on Taker in the promos until the Monday before Raw.
The end of CM Punk's title reign was very anti-climatic. Losing the title to a returning part timer and not even given the spot to fight for it at Mania... all to have Cena vs Rock II... that Once in a Lifetime that happened Twice!
i think it atleast should of been a triple threat.
Totally agree bro +1!
Totally agree bro +1!
Biggest one ever
agreed
I'm from Detroit, can confirm
i live in flint its worse
Same
+Devon Foor it is
I'm from Luton...yeaahhh....it's shit
I've been there twice its not that bad
My two favorite Vince lines, "it was me Austin" and "Life sucks and then you die".
Yeah I remember that lol
One of my favs for some reason is "YOU'RE HIRED STACEY!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I'll have his family raped by a motorcycle gang"
"I've got balls the size of grapefruits!"
Mine is ''Bret Screwed Bret.''
Come at me.
Rey mysterio getting screwed out of the WWE title MINUTES after winning it
What's worse about the Gooker, Mark Calloway was supposedly going to portray the character first.
I'd pay a dollar to watch that.
+PcP Films whoa big spender that is way too much
Could you imagine the Gooker building a Wrestlemania winning streak
The Son of Muta what's worse about the gimmick 🇩🇪
That would only be marginally worse than what they did which was dress the scion of a legendary wrestling family up in a turkey costume.
Where's Rikishi hitting Stone Cold with a car?
Probably #11.
Awwww... Shut your mouth ya thong wearing fattie.
Because even though they had rikishi say he did it. Which he did. They thought that he he would be a good heel. So they had triple h be the mastermind behind it all. So maybe it was because having triple h being the mastermind is what made it a good story.
sha s I heard somewhere that big show was supposed to be the culprit at one point, but his legit lengthy injury shut that down.
splintercell320 it would make sense.
Sting vs Undertaker... The greatest match to never happen. I think.
nah stardust vs Tyler breeze
That or The Rock v HBK
+Random British Guy
Nope; Akeem the African Dream vs Giant Gonzales.
+Loogy well we did get El Gigante vs One Man Gang
+Loogy WRONG. Super Giant Ninja vs... The Yetayyy
Vince saying "Its me Austin! It was me all along!" is nothing without also hearing JR say "Aww Sonnuva Bitch!"
Cause it's exactly what we all said at the same time lol.
MrDrokkul and kings "WHAT?!"
The Gobbledy Gooker Angle wasn't Anti Climactic, the end of it was the best part!
The Kids Were Going Nuts!!!!!
It was a legitimately surreal moment, blurring the lines between the muppets and pro wrestling.
unlike the episode of Raw that featured the actual muppets
The biggest anti-climax was the end of the blue meanie/jbl rivalry. Its little known but at ECW One Night Stand 2005 JBL attacked the Blue Meanie for real.
Oh wow, I never knew that :o
+Tobius Maximus Oh yeah, he potatoed him good. JBL can be a bit of a bully.
JBL a bully? No, you’re just messing with us, right?
Yeah but they got JBL back with a STIFF chair shot haha you whould watch it, it was his punishment.
Randy Orton VS Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam is a good contender for this list
So was the design reveal of the Universal Championship
considering it was likely not supposed to end the way it did and lesnar most likely got too carried away i have to totally agree it could of gone so much better.
Billy McGhee ive heard that but ive heard contradicting evidence to say it wasnt aswell. id like to think it was planned but not to this degree.
The TKO finish was planned but WWE didn't want there to be that much blood involved
Ambrose vs Lesnar at Mania was more of a let down I think
you are right about Detroit tho, I went there twice and died both times
The Streak being broken was the most, and maybe the only, legitimately shocking moment in wrestling since I started watching as a kid.
If anything it's the EXACT opposite of everything else in this video... We took it for granted the Streak would never end, the audience wasn't expecting anything exciting, and we got something that blew our minds.
Fact: the guy who played the Gobbledy Gooker, is Eddie Guerrero's older brother
When rey mysterio won his wwe title and lost it the same night to JOHN CENA I thought rey would finally get a good title run but no John cena has to ruin everything
Lesnar vs Ambrose at mania this year. it was advertised as one of the main events but it goes on so early and instead of the "grueling brawl" we were promised, Dean just got his ass kicked! my words after the match were "what the fuck was that?"
Dean mentioned on Stone Cold's podcast that he had loads of ideas to make a great match but Brock was too lazy to do any of it.
IDK about Lazy. I just think he didn't think Ambrose was worth putting over.
And to be fair, he really isn't.
+Helldog6 Why not?
Kevin Nash In short, he lacks in about every aspect of wrestling enough to stop him from being good. But not enough to make him bad.
He's just meh. He's always been meh.
after finding out Lesnar was going to ufc it made sense. he didnt want to get hurt before fighting
Am I the only one who likes Simon and Jack?
Simon kicks ass Jack's a maggle!
yes
I like Jack more than Simon as far as character but I think Jack is too much of a yes man and Simon's too much of a mark/optimist sometimes.
I like them both.
well, you dont seem like a loyal subject...
Ambrose vs Lesnar at WM 32 was pretty anti-climatic
There's still some speculation that Lesnar straight up TOOK that win from Undertaker, taking advantage of the "accidental" concussion. Heyman even hints towards this in interviews/public appearances.
I'm stunned that The Summer Of CM Punk or The Nexus Taking Over WWE weren't on this list. Those were definitely anti-climaxes for sure.
I died when he said Luton😂😂😂
Goldberg vs Lesnar for sure! The biggest day of my childhood was to see these two guys go head to head and well you know the rest....
What is the guy was actually inside the egg the entire time waiting? Selling the hell out of it.
as far as the detroit joke goes... youre absolutely fucking right
What about the Mr McMahon illegitimate child storyline?
its funny because whatculture always talks about how the crowd didnt like sheamus vs. daniel bryan lasting 18 seconds, but if you watch it, the crowd was going nuts.
Lesner vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20. It could have been Epic but instead we got a match (in name only) that neither man cared about since they were both leaving the company the next day

Kane's unmasking. From his Krusty the Clown look when he took the mask off to his overlong feud with Shane. Also, the 2002 version of NWO.
Now you can include roman reings being number 30 in the royal rumble 2017
I really liked Fake Diesel and Razor thing. Especially the part when Monsoon, Lawler and Kelly kept talking that they are not the real guys and heel JR was like "Oh fuck it, we own the copyright".
I'm early let me think of a joke...
WhatCulture
ooooooooh sick burn
I believe you meant wcpw
+MUSTAFA HAYDER What? no no no no go watch some more WWE you biased idiot.
Anyone who makes these "I'm early" jokes is a fuckin' turd. So yeah, congrats
Stupid idiot moron
"Then 2001 started rolling around" and then a picture of Bush. I'm literally rolling on the floor I was laughing so hard. 😂😂😂😂
Rikishi running over Stone Cold should be #1, but it's not even top 10.
I was just about to say that. Seriously, WWE built up for a year who had hit Austin, then it's not only revealed to be Rikishi, but he has no cogent reason why he did it. Little wonder it was changed to him just being a pawn for Triple H.
His reason was simple. He did it, for The Rock. He did it, for the People.
+KTG Gaming
Shut your mouth, you game-playing fattie!
+dstebbin I don't think you understood the reference he was making
Cakes
No, I understood it. I was referencing a promo the Rock made "Aw, shut your mouth you thong-wearing fattie."
Here in the states, the turkey is a Thanksgiving tradition. That is why the Gobbledy Gooker debuted around late November.
The reason for The Undertaker's loss against Lesnar were anti-climatic was that it was against a part timer... If it was against some young and upcoming star then this one thing would pretty much be enough the push the lad's career to new hights for a good long period

Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton at Survivor Series 2010.
The "Free or Fired" angle. I was expecting a Cena heel turn or a surprising return at least. And all i got was a Cena supposedly getting fired, just to be on every single RAW after.
Haven't really been hyped for a wrestling match since...
i remember when Edge elbow dropped the laptop :D
Aces and Eights left me un satisfied. Bully Ray getting caught up in himself is what killed me though. He basically kicked everyone out, ended aces and eight and they just need MR.Anderson to win a stipulated match to finalize it. I loved everything about Aces and Eights but they had a major downfall and the story was ruined
The PPV called 'Capitol Punishment'. Nuff said...
Adam's how-wwe-should-have-booked-the-higher-power idea was amazing. Its a real shame WWF/E didnt do something along those lines.
I thought the fake diesel/ramon angle was kinda cool. It was a direct warning shot to WcW
Only good thing in Detroit is the Red Wings.
+A.C. Dubya at least we have the tigers!
And Lio... i wait. And pist.... o wait. Yea Detroit is just screwed man. Detroiters and Michaganders alike would agree.
meh, they're okay
chayden153
Not a cup contender anymore but still on that longest playoff streak.
and eminem
LMAO Michael at the end, icing on the cake. Best part
It's not that he lost, it's that the match was shit

Hilarious the moment of: "it's like stabbing ur hand and wanting ur foot to be jealous"! Awesome
I live in Luton :(
Same Simons completely wrong about it being an anticlimax :D
+Dylan Purcell is it that bad? i was there for vacation, and in croydon aswell
I went to uni there. It was always very grey. Every time I'd get off the train or walk out the mall the sky would be grey and I'd think it was about to rain.
Dylan Purcell I think Simon's actually from Luton lol, he said it in a videogamer video
Vince being the Higher Power was hilarious,I wasn't disappointed at all
You're not Adam...
Neither are you.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sting's WCW return where he dropped down on that rope was so great. I was at that show too. I saw a lot of WCW shows. Some were terrible, some okay, and some were legitimately great. That was a very good show.
yeah but Kane was a better Nash than Nash
truth
i dont understand why people dislike this video, there is no reason for a dislike and how is it possible for an imformation channel to have haters
Its because Detroit is the butt of many crap places to live jokes over here Simon, that and its infamously known for high crime and the setting for Robocop
It was also the setting for the Justice League of Detroit line up . . . I'm going to shut up now as I just remembered that was the Dork Age for Justice League.
If I was making that joke, I would have said Delaware instead of Detroit.
RoboCop is a great movie.
Robocop was shot in Dallas, not Detroit!
+dstebbin The original
Dan Matha's debut. Every single return that's announced rather than being a surprise. Apollo Crews on the main roster. Brock vs Orton at summerslam. Goldberg's return, again should have been a surprise
#3 "Aw son of a bitch*
The Detroit/Luton comparison may have been random, but it definitely works.
Multicultural wonderlands.
New #1, 2017 Rumble, 30 is Roman. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
not really, stupid Daniel Bryan fans
Vince's son, Mask Kane's return, Jeff Hardy's last WWE run, the second WWE NWO run, ECW, Rated RKO, the Nexus, RVD's title run...the list can go on and on and on lol
is wcpw on today
no
+That One guy nobody likes correction
You're The one guy nobody likes

Why is Dean Ambrose wwe world champ
Because he is awesome
+LEGENDARY IceMan it's a split personality really, sometimes he's idiotic goofball and sometimes he's and intense cool guy you can get behind its creative being inconsistent really
+LEGENDARY IceMan Lmao!! I agree!!
would u want cena to be champion again
The real ''Lunatic Fringe'' in wrestling nowadays is broken Matt Hardy, that guy is legit crazy
"End up in Luton" brilliant, sadly I was raised here and can't seem to escape
there are like 5-10 people in the world that could handle lesnar 1v1...stop with the undertaker dream.
The best part of this video is cleary Michael Scott at the end. Thanks Simon for that!
You can NEVER have too many Picard memes/graphics. Jean-Luc is the MAN! Make it so..........number one.
Damn! "Thanks" for reminding me on this Big Show screwing DB stuff. I've been working for years now to forget it. My therapist told me yesterday that I'm finally over it. Those were hard times for WWE fans.
-Nexus ending in 2011
-CM Punk returning only a week after winning the title at MITB 2011
-pretty much everything that took place at Raw 1000
How about top 5 best and worst Taker Mania matches EXCLUDING Shawn Michaels and Giant Gonzales since they clearly number 1 for each catagory
NEXUS! First their loss at Summerslam 2010, and then Cena literally burying Wade Barret in that chair match at TLC, that same year.
The climax to the 'who ran over Stone Cold' angle should definitely be here, methinks...
I was at Mania 25, I was so excited for Triple H/Orton (I didn't even care about Shawn/Taker beforehand), I couldn't believe the letdown for that main event.
The face Vince has is his face when Big Cass and Bruan Stroman are in the ring together
The Michael Scott clip had me dying 😂
I stopped watching WWF many years ago but from watching your videos I think hornswaggle or whatever he's called was put in just to troll the fans. It cracks me up everytime he pops up.
Cool video...I am sure I could think up some more, but this was a good list.
"you can do a lot in 18 seconds" combined with that ladybird picture has cracked me up
I saw the preview for the video and immediatedly shouted "IT'S ME AUSTIN!"
I'm a sucker for the office! Any reference to it is an instant like!
"Stabbing your hand to try make your foot jealous" xDDDDDDDD
I was watching Wrestlemania with a friend. He was a fan of Daniel Brian. I wasn't. I loved the 18 second match. He didn't. I couldn't help but chant "Yes! Yes! Yes!" after that. I warmed up to him eventually though. His character is easily one of the most improved of the decade.
Always makes me happy to see Ryback got a job at What Culture. Was a very good list from him.
Simon and Pacitti are the best part of WhatCulture.
Zoukon101 The problem is, Jake wasn't mentally stable enough at the time to be relied upon to be the higher power. It would've been cool of course but reality always ruins good ideas for storylines.....
Rey Mysterio's run as WWE champion and Vince's illegitimate child being Hornswogle
"It's me, Austin!" is great, but my favorite line from that segment is JR's reaction. "Oh son of a bitch!" That makes the segment for me.
Should've kept the next part from Luger in that promo, "I DON'T KNOW!"
#Botchamania
I liked Simon, but when he dissed Detroit...not anymore
A good rival to Detroit in Michigan would be Ypsilanti Michigan. Much smaller in scale, but its not about the quantity, its about the lack of quality.
Just over 10mins. well done whatculture. lol
Damn that was a terrible 'It's me, Austin!' impression lol.
Wow, very surprised that McMahon's son being Hornswoggle didn't make the cut.
I started to cry when Simon said "2001 rolled around" and Bush showed up 😂
