My favorite team out of the 5 championships. It was the first, and Sean Elliott and Avery Johnson worked so hard for this team for so many years to finally capture a title.

I will never forget this game! I was on a road trip and happened to be in San Antonio that very day. Me and my friend (we are both from Sweden) got tickets and went to Alamodome early. A women came up to us and asked if we wanted to become “San Antonio Superfans”. 30 minutes later we were dressed up in Spurs jerseys, high fiving all the Spurs players down at the court. In front of 30.000+ fans we were standing in front of the players when the national anthem was played. Surreal and one of the greatest memories I have! And what a crazy game!!!
If someone out-there has the full recording of the game, with the intro and national anthem I would be so happy. We watched the replay the same evening so I know we were caught on camera. I have searched the internet but haven’t found it. /Martin

We were so hungry in a Antonio during the 90 Bc we never won. Also the biggest factor is the changing of NBA arenas. The money is in the tv deals not huge arenas so they are much smaller. AT&T in less than half of the alamodome.

I think that is with all sports. Look at MLB parks now. They all seem to be arounbd that 35 to 45k capacity, but I recall when more than half were over 50k capacity. Sports as a whole, not what it was, which is NOT an improvement.

I really wish the NBA would bring back the Memorial Day afternoon playoff game. That was such a great tradition when the NBA was on NBC. So many great moments on Memorial Day afternoon - the Pistons' walkout after the Bulls swept them, MJ going for 55 against the Knicks, the crazy Magic/Pacers finish, the legendary Reggie Miller shot against the Bulls, this shot, Memorial Day always seemed to bring out the best in the teams playing.

Don't forget the little things, all you ballers out there...during that huge run in the first two minutes of this video, Mario Elie back-tapped two loose rebounds out to teammates that turned into points. Maybe if he hadn't done that, we wouldn't be watching this video today...

What's crazy I was a mere 28 years young when this game was played, was off from work that Saturday, my cousin was at work with me basically giving the play by play at the end of this game at home. I literally lost my mind when he shot that three how covered he was and to drill that three, I lost my voice that day afterwards. Man this shot was what was to become the start of the Spurs dynasty of greatness over the next two decades. Thank you Sean Elliot for this memorable point in Spurs history 22 years ago this month. Granted I think the Spurs were eventually going to win championships regardless of wether or not Sean hit that three, but it makes it that much more memorable that this happened. Thanks for posting this up. Just as a reminder for an NBA game in terms of attendance, this was not the record attendance, but the Spurs do hold the record for largest attendance in an NBA game, regular season or playoffs 22 years later. GSG!
