- Episode 5 is finally there! After finally making to Abisko, I was able to explore the National Park and let myself sink in the coldest experience I had so far.
I truly fell in love with this place and you gonna see why! By the way I had so much to show you that I had to split this episode in two! Come with me and let's check this out!
Abisko is one of the most beautiful sites in the world //Love from Sweden
I agree 100% with that! I fell in love with Sweden and I will be back soon
Hello there, I dont know what's your name, so Hey!! 😅 I absolutely loved your video, as you have also witnessed Abisko, which holds an extremely special place in my heart. I have been going there since 2019 and I am that crazy that I was there 3 times in 2019. I have been there now already 6 times and just finalized my 7th visit yesterday. I can relate, as I am also from the warm tropical climate originally but live in Austria for many years now. Lets keep in touch. BR, Somnath from Vienna 😄
THis is absolutely incredible video!! Thanks so much for this content!
Just stumbled upon your channel, great videos, your very good at it.
Would love to see more
Hi! I watcched how many layers of clothes you put on. Did the staff recommend all of them? I who is living here in the northern part of sweden and is used to extrem knows that it is a balance between how many layes of clothes you put on before the clothes becomes an obsticle or to heavy to wear. Because if you have to much clothes, or to heavy clothes on you start to sweat, and that makes you freeze (sweat is wate and that directly on your skin chills you down). In short you need lears thermo underwares + socks, it´s a must! Then you need a layer that keep you warm (like something made of woll). And on top of that you need a layer that is windproof, for the chill factor. And then you need good winter shoes, thermo gloves. a thermo balaclava and of course something to protect you head. All together, those clothes should be light so they don´t are a obsticle for yuo when you move and aren´t heavy so you sweat when you move around. That is what i always think of when i have to go out and it´s extremly cold, like -35 or below. We have had close to -40 this winter, thankfully i didn´t have to go out those day´s
Hey Leif! No, the staff didn't recommend it, they only give us access to the overalls. I did some research beforehand and they (internet haha) recommend you to use synthetics and merino as the 1 and 2 layers, so that there is no risk of sweating and keeping the moisture om your body. Cotton is a no go as first or second layers. In my case I had to face -30 those days so I had to add the down jacket, otherwise I would feel really cold each time I stopped moving. I gotta say, I didn't buy expensive gear, but I definitely will next time 😊 thermo underwear and socks I had, merino as well 😊 indeed, thank you for your insight 😁 as a local you definitely know better than me!
I find so mind-blowing -40! I cannot imagine how harsh it might be! Next year I will have more time to plan such trip and will be definitely better prepared! The overall is kinda heavy but was my windbreaker. I had a hardshell water and windproof at home but with the layering it wouldnt fit me. So I counted on the overall and it saved the day!
@@after3011 yes marihno woll underwar is the best underwaer you can have I totally agree on that. And when you buy clothes, remmber to consider the chill factor the wind has so if you buy jackets and pats or an overall. It shouldn´t allow the wind blow through.
It is very rare occations we have that cold. Not even every winter. Some winters it never pass below -30. So about -40 -43 are extreme and unique.
And once again, visit northern sweden in the summer, june or july. so you can experience the "land of the midnight sun" (unless it´s not raining) But even if it´s raining the summers here are worth a visit. But be avare of the mosquitos if you go to the maountines or Abisko national park again
We've just come back from Kiruna and Abisko, lovely to see what it looks like in the winter, was so alive when we were there in the summer...such a contrast! Will have to visit again but in the winter... keep up the good work with the videos, you are capturing well and are good in front of the camera , I'm sure the channel will grow fast with this type of content.. subscribed :)
A beautiful place in North Sweden, will explore Abisko this summer, including Åre. Living in Sweden since 89 and never have been to the north, but now i will finally be on my way up.🇸🇪😊🏞️
Hello! Were the snow shoes provided by the accommodation? What else in that layering part was provided by them and what all did you have to buy and carry along yourself? Thanks
My accomodation provided the thermal overall, the boots, thick gloves and fur hats. To me it was a huge help since I got no time to purchase it and also didn't want to carry too much stuff during my trip. The other layers I bought them myself since they are also helpful for not so extreme weather conditions. Basically I invested some money on merino underlayers (also socks) and fleece layers :)
Awesome stuff! Always a good idea to keep battery powered devices close to the body, to keep them warm, if possible :)
Incredible journey 🤩 merino wool always goes first on the skin. Synthetic doesnt help in these harsh conditions 😘 take care
Thank you Lena ❤️ you guys are helping me so much with those tips! I am a newbie in dressing for very low temperatures and I will definitely consider this next time! Take care you too 😘
Oh that house brings back 20 year old cold memories. I got stuck in abisko due to an avalanche that had blocked the road over the mountainpass to norway. i asked for a place to stay the whole afternoon but no one was able to spare me a room. i ended up sleeping in the car til the morning after in -37 degrees.
Sister,Beautiful video .I appreciate and sending good wishes to you.I am also thinking about to visit such places.
Thank you so much! Sending good wishes to you too 😊 I only can recommend it! it is an experience you will never forget. By the way the new video with the end of of this adventure is coming up by the end of this week! Super excited to share 😁
Lived at some point 4 months in Sweden. Years ago. As a Norwegian from Northern Norway I look at especially the northern part of Sweden as flat ,boring and cold on the inland loll But , it is true that places there has some magic lights.
Nice, really like how you've described 101 layers.. :) actually no one is really mentioning it in videos from behind arc circle..
3:10 is where the coolie-dual music comes in, like DAMN SON WHERE'D YOU FIND THIS? It's vibin'! I like it.
I won't lie, this got me bobbin' the ol' noggin' right up until 5:00 mark 🐺 The Wolf agrees
hahahah I am so glad you enjoyed! :D
Great video! In which month did you visit the park? It took how long to walk through the park?
I visited the park in the first week of December 2022. Since I was filming I needed a bit longer, but essentially depends on which trails you choose. But with about 2 hours you explore the main spots of the park. Thanks for watching 😊
First 😁. You should visit Sweden during summer, it's insanely pretty
Yaay 😁 yes I know 😍 I am looking forward to summer this year! And I tell you, visiting Sweden again is definitely one of my plans for this summer!
@@after3011 if you visit Stockholm and want some guidance just let me know. I would enjoy to show you some cool places.
Hi, can I please ask what time of year this was filmed. We are planning to visit in December, at the shortest part of the year. I realise the sun never rises above the horizon, but is there any light at all at that time?
Hey Paul! This video was shot in the beginning of December 2022 (first and second weeks). There is a bit of day light and it lasts for about 2 hours only, and the intensity is similar to a sunset. If you wanna see what it looks like I recommend you to watch my other video filmed in Kiruna 😊 there you have an idea of how much day light you will experience during the polar nights. Thank you for watching 😊
@@after3011 wow, thanks for the quick reply. Currently watching your aurora video. So beautiful
@@paultyso you will love Abisko! Specially in December with all the Christmas decorations! But the main fact is, you will be able to experience the aurora from the lake... The view is just breathtaking and Abisko is one of the best places in the whole world to see the aurora!
@09:42 I'm guessing... winter hare.
You preparing would would shame a solider preparing for a fight ;)
Hahaha I am glad to hear that :D at least I could stand the cold very well!
Hi, good day!! Planing to visit abisko on december.. i just wanna ask if do you have any contact # or page with the accomodation you had there.. thanks in advance
Hey King Bab! I stayed at the Abisko Guesthouse. Booked the stay on Booking :) Thank you for watching and I wish you a great trip to Abisko! December will be beautiful, they decorate the whole guesthouse and gives it all a very special feeling!
