Thank you so much! And, let me just say, you are a genius! I love this idea. I have pots for days, that I don't even mess with, because I have to check them, to see the color. With this product, I can simply use the little nail rings that clip to the brush handle, swatch, and put them on my shelf. I use dark bottles for my diy gel polishes, but builder gel is whole different animal. I will definitely be visiting your site soon!
I used a detail brush to paint a pastel rainbow on each nail. Then I topcoated, used unicorn powder, and topcoated again. 😊😊😊 I have a video of the process but it hasn't been edited, yet.
It's something that I figured out and now my husband even uses this trick on regular paint. 😊 I love your nyan kitty nails btw, but comments were disabled.
@@palaceofpolish8617 yeah I didn't even figure to do that after watching people mix things with resin. Aw thank you!!! My little cousin designed it so I made it kids friendly for her to watch it 😁
Go for it! You can literally find eyeshadow anywhere. And don't limit yourself to just eyeshadow. Use highlighter, blusher, bronzer, chalk, glitter....the list goes on and on. Have fun! :)
Hi, first of all, I really love this idea. I was thinking about doing this but I was doubting myself so I searched videos about it and I came across this, quick question though, how do you make it more opaque? I mean, I'm planing to make my own gel polish just those plain colored similar to pre made ones that you can buy because I find it difficult to find the shades that I really like. Hoping you'll notice me 😊 thank you and godbless P.S I really like your video, it doesnt cut much and really shows the rrue process of creating pigment 😊
Hi! Thank you for your feedback. It really helps me create better content for others. As for increasing opacity, there are several things you can do. The simplest way is to just add lots of eyeshadow. The more you add, the more opaque the color will be. I've never had issue with gel not curing and I've even used creme eyshadow (so much that I was certain I'd just made a mess) and it still cured completely in 60 seconds. Also, when using makeup, consider how the makeup sits on your face. Eyeshadow, for instance, is more pigmented than say bronzer or highlighter. So a pretty bronzer is going to only going to add shimmer and a mild color compared to eyeshadow. Another method is using chalk. I like crayola because you get a lot for your money, and they have a lot of colors. (but there are many brands out there. There's a chalk kit on amazon, that's really popular on youtube, for making custom acrylic mixes) You can add complimentary colored chalk to your eyeshadow gel color to get a deeper color. The pretty shimmer effect of the eyshadow, will still shine through. Or you could use the chalk, by itself, for a creme color without shimmer or glitter. Another method is liquid pigment. It comes in tons of colors and it takes out all the work of grinding your own pigment. Just add it until you're happy. There are plenty of videos showing how to grind up the chalk. (Look for custom acrylic using chalk.) Chalk, powder and liquid pigments are available on etsy, amazon, ebay, and my favorite, Aliexpress. I hope this was helpful, and if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. (And don't doubt yourself. Making your own colors is all about having fun. It's addictive.) :)
I've tried an eyeko galactic lid gloss in the color stardust. It's a creme eyeshadow. I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but it worked fine. The gel cured normally, with no issues. And i used a lot of it in a small pot of gel. I was so sure I'd just made a mess. So when it cured completely in 60 seconds, I was pleasantly surprised. If there is a product that you'd like me to try to "gel", let me know. Hope this helps.
@@palaceofpolish8617 Thank you so much!!! I just made my 1st cup with a 'throw away' shot glass last night and have my bottles and funnel on the way.. It took 4 coats then the top coat after the base coat. 90 second cure between each one. But definitely worth it considering how long it use to take! Gel polish doesn't offer a lot of variety so being able to use my lacquer polishes is amazing!!💕
🤣🤣🤣 Well, RUclips is extremely strict about copyright. My editor and I decided to make original music, in order to avoid any copyright claims. And I, myself, am kinda weird and creepy.
As long as your container isn't clear. You can find dark uv resistant bottles on Amazon. If your container is clear, uv light will find its way in and your mix will cure in the bottle. Also, mixing in a bottle is extremely difficult. So it's better to mix in a pot and then transfer the mix to a bottle.
@@palaceofpolish8617 I'm sorry to bother you again but all i can find on amazon is amber one could you please send me the link I'm so excited to do this
@@aprilalfred2151 no bother, girl. I'm always happy to help. And those are the ones I use. Gels actually used to come in those. The Amber ones will work just fine. You can keep them on your shelf and they'll be safe. Mine are square because they sit close together, to save space. I actually put a little drop of the color on the front of the bottle and put the whole bottle in my lamp. No problems and you'll know what color is in the bottle.
@@aprilalfred2151 Oh! That was a coscelia set I got on amazon. You get 6 pots of clear builder gel. You can just mix them up. It's a good deal because you get the pots and the gel so it's pretty cheap. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08KXLJNKJ/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A6XR7CJD126OF&psc=1
It lasts just as long as any gel. Adding glitters and pigments don't affect the performance of the gel. I don't really ever have issues with pop offs. I do a fill every two weeks or so. Otherwise, I soak them off to do a new set. Hope that helps.

How do you clean your funnel... Haven't seen a video on it.. Thanks in advance
I just use 70% alcohol and q-tips. 70% alcohol gets any gel off of anything.
