I would love it if they started an MGM cartoon line of DVDs or Blu-Ray, like they do with Looney Tunes. I would prefer if they did it in order like the Popeye collections, but having random jumbles or sorting them alphabetically would make for a more varied experience. Especially considering that the early 30s and late 50s cartoons weren’t anything to write home about. It would especially be good for classic MGM cartoons to finally get the respect they deserve, outside of the Tom & Jerry and Droopy collections.
Volume One has 19 shorts, Volume Two has 21, and Volume Three 20 of Tex Avery’s MGM shorts but it also has the Merrie Melodies short The Crackpot Quail as a Bonus Feature. If you have all Three Volumes you will have 61 shorts in total.
@@Gypsygeekfreak17 It’s his near complete MGM filmography. 60 of Tex Avery’s MGM shorts are available on Blu-ray between these three volumes. But there are still seven of his MGM shorts that you won’t have if you buy all Three of these sets. I explain it around 2:35 in this video. I really hope that Warner Archive will put out a Tex Avery Screwball Classics Volume Four sometime this year to complete his MGM filmography!
Tex Avery was 72 years old, when he died on August 26, 1980 at the time!!!
