You know, Japan really is interesting. Their theme songs can be EDM fusions, they regularly have happy melodies that somehow feel melancholy, and every single one has such odd chords. Why does this work so well?
Actually, it's very generic chord progression. The chord seems odd because of the electronic instruments (it's not EDM, it's a very different sound). In J-pop there's a band with a very odd progression as their signature called Ali Project.

Although we may never get a season 3, Grand Blue is its successor as the author did say that he created Grand Blue by thinking what if Baka to Test cast graduated and got into college. Let's hope for season 2 for Grand Blue at least.
Is this anime straight comedy or does it progressively get serious like Katekyo Hitman Reborn (I high recommend watching if you haven't)? I stopped at beginning of season 2 I think because I wanted more action and seriousness.
@@ebeleingram8048 It does get somewhat serious/dramatic at the end. If we had season 3, we could've gotten a pretty serious scenes as it was the 1st years vs the 2nd or 3rd years I believe.
I watched this in January 2014. I remember walking to school on super cold winter days listening to this opening. Didn't have anything to worry about back then. It feels ancient and yet somehow also recent at the same time.

Chris Young or you guys can read all of the novels for free online. The series ended in 2013 and the books are even better than the show. I wasn't happy with the ending though. It just seemed so planned and bullshit.
I dont know if anyone's going to read this but it's been 6 years since I saw this anime and I thought of looking it up just for shits and giggles; listening to this brought back so many fun memories of when I was younger, im almost 20 now but listening to old anime songs give me feelings of happiness and a little bit of sadness because I'm growing up and i'll eventually forget about these gems. I remember giggling with my friend everytime we watched this anime, back then I didn't have to worry about deadlines as much as I used to now, life was easier back then so listening to this song now brings back memories of how easy life was. School Rumble is a pretty accurate and funny one. That's the first one that comes to mind aside from this.
if you want pure fluff, you could try Acchi Kocchi. Hilarious, but more of skits than a constant plot, yet the characters are consistent.

Although we may never get a season 3, Grand Blue is its successor as the author did say that he created Grand Blue by thinking what if Baka to Test cast graduated and got into college.

Is this anime straight comedy or does it progressively get serious like Katekyo Hitman Reborn (I high recommend watching if you haven't)? I stopped at beginning of season 2 I think because I wanted more action and seriousness.
@@ebeleingram8048 It does get somewhat serious/dramatic at the end. If we had season 3, we could've gotten a pretty serious scenes as it was the 1st years vs the 2nd or 3rd years I believe.

I watched this in January 2014. I remember walking to school on super cold winter days listening to this opening. Didn't have anything to worry about back then. It feels ancient and yet somehow also recent at the same time.

Chris Young or you guys can read all of the novels for free online. The series ended in 2013 and the books are even better than the show. I wasn't happy with the ending though. It just seemed so planned and bullshit.

I dont know if anyone's going to read this but it's been 6 years since I saw this anime and I thought of looking it up just for shits and giggles; listening to this brought back so many fun memories of when I was younger, im almost 20 now but listening to old anime songs give me feelings of happiness and a little bit of sadness because I'm growing up and i'll eventually forget about these gems.
I remember giggling with my friend everytime we watched this anime, back then I didn't have to worry about deadlines as much as I used to now, life was easier back then so listening to this song now brings back memories of how easy life was.
Although I'm getting older, these anime songs will always awaken my inner 13 year old that loved anime and watched it religiously ♥
