Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, Sister, if your passion is within the limits of halal - go ahead! Suppressing your true self, intrinsic inclinations goes against the law of happiness. May Allah instill trust in your parents heart, the trust that you will choose what benefits you at the core. Ameen

      @@aaminaashrafganaie5760 wa iyyaki, Sister.
I would speak to them how important if not essential this is to me assuring them, that they matter to me, that this will not affect the mutual love we have for each other.
Perhaps show them videos as this one or of similar nature, to broaden and expand the view. Most likely they were taken away their freedom at a young age and presumably did not get chance to process this, therefore those wounds unconsciously are passing onto another generation.
Do they understand English language? There are so many beneficial books on how childhood trauma affects our future thoughts, decisions, feelings and emotions, behaviour.
I pray your situation reaches clarity in all aspects 🤲
And certainly, to make heartfelt du'a to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to change the condition in the most beautiful and wise way 💗

What if Allah created me to incessantly question Islam, to the point that I think it superfluous? Also, it is always easy to say things like 'You should find meaning in life, look at your true identity, etc.' without actually realizing that human beings create definitions to 'grasp' meaning and create meaning to 'grasp' definitions.
I end by saying God knows best.

+Rashidoon .com Thank you for the reply, it is much appreciated. Your first question is exactly my point of contention. How do we know what we know? This central epistemological concern permeates every aspect of life, in which questions can be raised on the legitimacy of political structures, economic pursuits and even religious institutions.
Your second question comes off as a bit defensive, which makes sense as (assuming) you feel that my statement was directed at you. In which I mentioned that it is easy to say things like 'You should find meaning in life, look at your true identity, etc.' Of course, this statement is not directed entirely to you, Sheikh. It is a general statement.
      Hope you are well.
