My maternal grandmother and grandfather had a disabled son in 1958. Chris had cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He had to have very expensive reclining type wheelchairs which were very rare and expensive. Grandma got on the game show "Queen for a Day" in 1962 and told her story, and got second place which paid for a suitable chair for Chris. The trikes that some disabled, and elderly, persons use would be a great idea. The ones available are usually quite expensive, even though they're not a lot more than 115% of a regular bike. Making lightweight ones would be a plus!

Fun robot tip: for simpler assemblies, you can program the robot welder to use the torch head to nudge pieces into position for welding rather than having to do all that fixturing nonsense. The piece is always positioned perfectly relative to the tool head. You can tell I’m an engineer and not a welder because the second it starts welding it immediately warps and the free piece lifts. Would’ve been cool though.

My daughter and I are fans of yours. I had no idea that you made chairs besides the off-road chair. If you need any testers, my daughter, who is a full-time wheelchair user, would love to give you feedback.
I’m glad you’re making a quality product for people that need it. The biggest problem with receiving this type of product is the insurance companies and their ability to deny it especially when the need is valid. I delivered home medical equipment for 18 years and it was a constant hurtle for me as a provider and then the ability to customize the wheelchair for the patient. Another issue was seating for the patient and obtaining the proper paperwork for the justification for the purchase. Good luck with your business.
I still want a video where you talk about how you guys meet the FDA regulations for a medical device and the challenges you faced setting up this business.
It’s amazing what yall can do, it’s so wild how much these machines cost, hopefully no price-controls ever get implemented that keep your company or your employees from doing good work
125 might be fine if you need a standard off the role one not for 24/7 use, or if you are mostly mobile. but if you have any issues going on, like not two strong, well moveable arms, you are out of lucks.. 1000 seems cheap to me, and the NHS will balk and stall at any special adds you need on your chair. also, this is the usa, you know how shitty and expensive the us is, especially to disabled people?
Hey. So allot of my family has/had muscular dystrophy (Fredrick’s ataxia). It’s really hard seeing older family progress to the point of having not enough dexterity to drive their electric wheelchairs safely. My mom has accidentally driven herself off boardwalks, sidewalks, ramps and even down a cathedral staircase. I actually lost my uncle to a staircase. I’m surprised we aren’t seeing any consumer wheelchairs with safety features (like cars) that prevent collisions or driving off steep drops. Have you looked into any of the computer vision autonomous wheelchairs? Are you considering making your own? This is something I hope to see become available in my lifetime.
They currently have what they call "the rig" which is intended for use in rough terrain. I don't think they have any motorized chairs intended for day to day use yet.
What is a manual wheelchair? A quick Google search seems to yield many less expensive chairs, is that claim correct? Awesome to see a company with such a cool mission regardless!
My niece has cancer and had a leg amputation as a result. She’s often in a wheelchair chair as she gets tired from walking any large distances. I’d like to get her something better and make her more comfortable. She’s 14 and she’s such an amazing person. Thanks for the video.
Why does a bicycle cost 90$ but a wheelchair doesn't? You've got a lot of fancy equipment to bend pipes and do welds when a cheap pipe bender is a couple hundred bucks and so is a welder.
@@salam14111 yeah there's no way in hell he's selling those for cheap when he bought a 500,000$ machine to do welds and bend pipes. His return on investment would be abysmal.
@@kaliss7192 i just looked at the website for kicks and just throwing a quick chair together got to $1500.... not exactly cheap by any means, maybe cheap being able to customize but $1500 isnt cheap, at all
Bicycles come in at all price points not just $90 dollars. You can buy bicycles for under $90 dollars and well into the thousands of dollars. Using manual pipe benders and all manual welders will cause you to never keep-up with your production demands. The reality is, this is the year 2024 not 1924 and if you don't take advantage of manufacturing equipment that can speed your manufacturing process you won't survive. Simply put, if you can't get your product out the door in a timely manor the customer will go elsewhere, and you will probably go bankrupt forcing closure.
@Mark-lq3sb you're missing the point. Wheelchairs are regulated and bicycles are not. Look up regulatory capture. I'm watching a video where a guy had to pay 2500$ for a new foam cushion on his wheelchair. A new bicycle seat will cost you 15$.
Timago (EU) produces wheelchairs at eight the price of "the most inexpensive wheelchair in the USA". Additionally, it is foldable, features pushing handles, configurable foot positions, and removable side panels. It is also certified as medical equipment in the EU. If it is so difficult to manufacture anything in the USA, it’s no wonder your industries are declining.
All the machines he bought couldve been imported from China for less than half the cost. A 4kW fiber tube cutter is approximately 80-100k USD. Import charges and everything all in, maybe 170k. Couldve bought 3 machines for the price of 1 laguna. To take pride in saying “Made in USA” is very costly because of extreme labour rates.
@@IamTeknik buying machines from China is just like buying their products, cheap and easy to break. You want stuff that can last and make up for it's price over the long years, just like buying a car/truck you don't want something that'll break down in 3 years you want something to last almost a whole decade which is possible, I wouldn't cheap out on machines because china's not known for quality, but that's a topic for another channel.

Keep up the quality! My wife has become handicapped and one thing I discovered is Aids, walkers, scooters. Extremely high priced and very poorly made in general. I have had to repair almost everything we have bought. The places that repair are even higher priced than almost the original. Wheels for a scooter cost more than my truck tires!!!!
I program the CNC bender (2nd machine) at my job. It’s a bit beefier since we are bending schedule 40 steel pipe but yours has most of the same bells and whistles.
I love the assemblies waiting for coating just sitting in cardboard boxes. So much planning and money into the process and machines and something like staging comes up and you just make it work xD
This is the definition of making an impact on the world. He spends all this profits from content creation to make affordable wheelchairs for people who need them. So much more thoughtful than buying a mansion in a gated community and owning 20 supercars.
This is awesome. I think it would be very gratifying to be on your engineering group and even you marketing group. I used to work for a bicycle shop and lots of people used to bring us wheelchairs to fix, because they did not know where else to bring them. Fortunately it was usually only flat tires we had to fix, but if there were a spare parts network we knew about, we could have offered more to the consumer.
Great I'm recently handicapped. I found a fairly light one, the wheels come off, and the back folds down so it can fit in tight places. It was reasonably priced,...around $350.00. from a wholesale seller.
So proud of you my guy , you went from taking phones apart to making the quality of life so much better for so many people 👏 keep on moving forward and change the world for the better 💪🏻
I have to say thank you for doing this. My dad has a triple spinal fusion, and that doesn’t even capture how bad his back is. He can barely walk and he’s in constant pain, can’t sleep for more than a couple hours before the pain wakes him from a dead sleep. He’s lost a lot of weight, his appetite has been low because the pain and lack of mobility depresses him. I always saw him as indestructible, very few people I’ve ever known can push through struggle like he can, but there’s a limit to how much pain a person can take. All the doctors and surgeons that see his spine are dumbstruck by how he can even move around anymore, I mean his back is Ronnie Coleman levels of messed up. I’ll be very surprised if he isn’t in a wheelchair by the end of the decade. He’s going to keep pushing through all the pain until he literally cannot walk anymore, and hopefully when that time comes, he’ll be able to get an affordable wheelchair and other stuff that he’s going to need.
Whats cool about this is you have a man here who has a loved one with a disability and built a company to make things not only better for her by getting cheaper wheelchairs but also helping others as well, this is just awesome to see!

The trikes that some disabled, and elderly, persons use would be a great idea. The ones available are usually quite expensive, even though they're not a lot more than 115% of a regular bike. Making lightweight ones would be a plus!
I don't think that would be a good idea, the regular bicycle market is extremely crowded unlike the relatively niche wheelchair market.
@@baked_orange2339 Sure, but he already makes a number of other doodads to make money to grow the wheelchair factory. Bikes would be more complex though.
As a wheelchair user, thank you for your service to the disability community.
I’m having my second wheelchair customised in titanium, go into production after the new year.
Hats off to you, mate!
Cheers! 🇦🇺
You're doing amazing things for people Zack!!!
God bless you for doing something that helps people in need. ❤
Hey! Thanks man I didn't know you had a wheelchair factory! I'm buying you one for my next replacement
This is pretty cool stuff. People who depend on wheel chairs depend on quality. I know there in good hands with you
Ive watched this man since he was cutting a youtube button in half and you could always tell the man has heart! Its so awesome to see someone use their platform to do something amazing for others instead of putting gold rims on a jetski and flaunting it to us peasants for content. ❤❤❤ much much love my dude!
Using his own money to support other is very sigmature ❤
Don't get me wrong, he is just making expense for his business. And that finished product may be inexpensive but to some, Its pretty expensive
@@SirxRyuuCHSub Time to use my sigmature move!!

Its so awesome that zack started doing RUclips of stuff he enjoyed and found fascinating and because of that he started to make life for his wife and many others easier. Bless you sir🙏
He’s likely partnered with an established producer and use their regs
But idk
Maybe better to ask than to say “I want” 😅
It’s amazing what yall can do, it’s so wild how much these machines cost, hopefully no price-controls ever get implemented that keep your company or your employees from doing good work
A £1000 pricetag is insane. £125 at your nearest UK catalogue shop or free from the NHS.
Good manual wheelchairs are still 350 plus even with an NHS voucher. More if you want one for off road etc
It is cuz it is in the US. They should do it like we do. Government buys wheelchairs and gives or sells for cheap to the population
Thanks for showing how it’s done, we should all focus again on making the world more inclusive, all the success to you brother!
You are amazing 🤩, as is every person😮 working on this team! 💯
What is a manual wheelchair? A quick Google search seems to yield many less expensive chairs, is that claim correct?
Awesome to see a company with such a cool mission regardless!
Yep, his wheelchair is really expensive in comparison to the other producers
My niece has cancer and had a leg amputation as a result. She’s often in a wheelchair chair as she gets tired from walking any large distances. I’d like to get her something better and make her more comfortable. She’s 14 and she’s such an amazing person. Thanks for the video.
Why does a bicycle cost 90$ but a wheelchair doesn't? You've got a lot of fancy equipment to bend pipes and do welds when a cheap pipe bender is a couple hundred bucks and so is a welder.
this . hes cheapest with high tech stuff for millions dollars .something is off with him :D or USA :D
Dude you're such an awesome person all around, you're truly a blessing for this world I feel like
This is what I learned America was like when I was younger. To bad it doesn't happen often.
I used a manual chair for 30 years, now in a powerchair sadly. Your chairs look realy nice. good work
Blue powder coating looks absolutely fire. Do you do any with just that MacBook coating? Also...any DBrand wheelchair tie-ins?
My son has cerebral Palsy and is a daily wheelchair user, people like you truly make the world a better place.
It isn't difficult but Yanks want to make 10k usd a month and then act surprise when the market around them also shoot up in costs.
corporate greed ruins everything in all nations, my friend. Some prey on the medical industry, while others stick their fingers elsewhere.
Sir I met you in Hawaii at a subway in Laie, you were there with your lovely family. You were so nice to me! God bless you for changing the world in a positive way!
I am an occupational therapist in Australia that prescribes chairs though the NDIS and you sir are a dead set legend! Making wheelchairs inexpensive is honestly huge as they legit cost so much over here and getting them funded is a nightmare! Chair is like 8-12k and the reports cost over 2.5k to do and having an option that is accessible cost wise to people while also being able to be scripted is amazing! We legit need more people like youself
I dont always love everything you do. But THIS is objectively good. I’m sure your wife is very proud of you for making a difference to so many families. Great job, Jerry.
I cant think of a whole lot of people that do things to make a better world. Good job!
Worked in welding supply for almost 6 years (mostly aerospace but any company could buy) and this is awesome. (We also had a few robots we built for welding we couldn't tell people too much about)
Legit a real inspiration doing the lords work man!
Please never stop what you're doing, this is amazing 🤘♥️
So inspiring Zack. I'll always support and watch the videos on your channel!

I am amazed by all the hard work and dedication to help others but at the same timeand appeled by the fact this was even necessary.
Good work...... Creating a legacy of helping others at an affordable price .
Dude, I’ve watched your channel and been a subscriber for a looong time, I’m so proud of you and the way you’ve used your platform for good, all we see is scandal this and scandal that, but here we are with you doing amazing work, I can barely afford to pay my phone bill but I’m glad I do so I can keep watching you man! RUclips Chanel’s should be all about this . I love your content man . Great to see you grow 😊
Jerry is what an influencer should be. Built a social media empire and went out to make the world a better place. This is amazing and awesome!
This is the way to invest youtube money. Great guy!
You're an inspiration as always!! ❤
I program the CNC bender (2nd machine) at my job. It’s a bit beefier since we are bending schedule 40 steel pipe but yours has most of the same bells and whistles.
This was the quickest I've ever followed someone. Thank you for your work sir.
That’s awesome man. What a great way to make money and also help people.
I love the assemblies waiting for coating just sitting in cardboard boxes. So much planning and money into the process and machines and something like staging comes up and you just make it work xD
You're such a legend aye. Love from Australia.
Keep up the great work, brother. Nothing better than American made quality!😊👍
So cool! Now my dentist, gardner, doctor, astronaut is also making wheelchairs its such a great accomplishment.
Jerry… a true source of inspiration!!!
Great I'm recently handicapped. I found a fairly light one, the wheels come off, and the back folds down so it can fit in tight places. It was reasonably priced,...around $350.00. from a wholesale seller.
Glad to have manufacturers like you exist. Hope your future is profitable
Loving someone to a point where you invent something to make their life easier is rad af! ❤
Nice. Love it. Keep it up you guys. Yall doing a great service.
This is amazing so happy to support your channel!
Thank you for showing us the finished product
This is the best RUclipsr ever. Hands down. No one comes near this man.
I’ve followed you off and on for a while now and had no idea you made wheelchairs. I love the fact you make them affordable. Keep up the work!
