When Clara "died" (I think she has one heart beat left) I fell out with Dr. Who. This duo might make me come back. I feel a certain energy with them. My interest is peaked.
Exactly the same with me I tried to give the next series (series 10) a fair shot but I just couldn't bare it - had enough of the declining quality of the show. And less said about the Chibnall Era the better But I'm getting such a promising vibe from these 2 - I'm really excited about Doctor Who! Fingers crossed!
Series 10 is honestly brilliant imo. Bill and Nardole were great companions, the narrative was brilliant, and I was legitimately shocked to see John Simm return. However, once Capaldi and Moffat left and Chibnall took over, it definitely went really far downhill
@@edgeworth097 Hi, so I've been rewatching all series of NuWho (before Nov this year) and having a blast down memory lane and appreciating some episodes now that I didn't enjoy at the time - I've actually watched the full series 10 for the first time now! I thought you might be interested to know what I think of it now: (btw, I define series 10 to be from episode 0 - The Return of Doctor Mysterio - to episode 13 - Twice Upon A Time) Back in the day, I watched Mysterio and the first 3 episodes, gave up on Doctor Who ever since - but randomly watched Empress of Mars (which only convinced me to give up on Doctor Who back then) and Twice Upon A Time (which I thought was pretty good). Turns out, a lot of the episodes in between are great! - so I missed out on them by accident lol :/ Overall, I can't agree with you saying it's brilliant, but I do think series 10 is, just about, great - an 8/10. And your specific points you mention are points I agree with. Bill and Nardole are great! Nardole's semi-reluctance to be there is funny, and Bill is a good pal with a nice student-teacher dynamic with The Doctor. I really appreciated that Bill was nothing more than ordinary. The series narrative is solid! I definitely DON'T think it's as good as series 5's or 1's for example - but no need to compare, it's still good. I like how the episodes still feel episodic even though they kindof lead into one another, teasing us with the mystery of what's in the vault and why The Doctor has exiled himself to Earth to watch over it. The reveal that it contains Missy was satisfying. In fact, that whole "monk" trilogy of episodes was awesome - though I think the ending was unfortunately clumsy. And then we get 2 filler episodes; they were certainly fine (even Empress of Mars - turns out, not that bad), but I don't care for them. I think the series narrative would've flowed better if The Eaters Of Light was planned to be the episode just before Oxygen, however that's the ONLY change I would make to the episode order. And then the 2-part finale was GOLD and the Xmas special (the 12th Doctor's final story) was great! World Enough And Time was definitely the best episode of series 10, wow - and what a great concept! And Moffat actually had the balls to turn Bill into a Cyberman, and it was permanent! - that to me was the biggest shock of the series. Incredible TV. Jon Simm would've been the biggest shock - but unfortunately they totally spoiled that surprise in the previous episode's "next time" segment! omg, who's blunder was that?! :(. The great thing is that Jon Simm returning as The Master wasn't just fan service, there was a genuine narrative excuse for it - bringing him back allowed us to compare Missy's growth this series to who The Master used to be and that worked well. I liked the "vibe" of series 10; it's hard to describe what that "vibe" is - it's sort of stylishly lower budget, minimal, a homely down-to-Earth feel (which is of course appropriate, given the ongoing narrative being told). Not all the episodes wear that vibe well - Oxygen is an episode that I love on PAPER, but it should've been a lot better than what we got; to me, it's like they tried to not make it's vibe too different from the rest of the series, but that episode could've done with full-out horror vibes. An episode that REALLY suited series 10's vibe was Knock Knock - which is now my pick for most under-appreciated Doctor Who episode. It's slow-paced, homely, mysterious, and barely anything exciting happens. It really should be a boring failure - yet it just isn't! Instead of high thrills, we are invited to hang out with Bill and her friends and take it slow - it was nice and refreshing viewing. The Doctor turns up and certainly gets involved, but he isn't the main character this time. This is Bill's story; a day-in-the-life but it goes wrong and sci-fi. A surprisingly good episode :) Despite my like for series 10's vibe, ultimately episodes 11, 12, and 13 completely abandoned it and went cinematic like how we'd normally expect Doctor Who to be. And unfortunately, those episodes were SO great that it makes the rest of series 10 seem pretty lame in comparison (even though it wasn't) - reminded me what great Doctor Who is ACTUALLY like. I actually rewatched the cold-open to World Enough And Time immediately simply because I thought the cinematography and acting was SO beautiful! At the end of the day, Doctor Who is an excellent TV show. And in my opinion: as great as series 10 is, it simply isn't THE series to show to others to explain why Doctor Who is so good. Like I said, I'd give series 10 an 8/10 (a great score for sure) - but almost all of the series before it I would rate higher. But at least I have a newfound appreciation for it. Honestly, thank you for encouraging me to give it a chance - it was a good time :) btw, here are my approximate scores I would give each episode: The Return of Doctor Mysterio: 7.7/10 The Pilot: 7.8/10 Smile: 7.2/10 Thin Ice: 7.4/10 Knock Knock: 8.4/10 Oxygen: 7.5/10 Extremis: 8.9/10 The Pyramid At The End Of The World: 8.7/10 The Lie Of The Land: 7.4/10 Empress of Mars: 7.1/10 The Eaters Of Light: 7.2/10 World Enough And Time: 9.5/10 The Doctor Falls: 9.2/10 Twice Upon A Time: 8.6/10
A episode featuring ancient cairo and the Pyramids would be amazing, The Doctor and Ruby could encounter one of the Egyptian gods like Anubis or Apophis (the god of chaos and darkness- a giant Cobra) Imprisoned deep in the Pyramids You could even bring back Sutekh and The Osirans (as Anubis is the son of Sutekh)

@@tahutoa especially since the partial regeneration in stolen earth also counts according to time of the doctor. making david tennant technically 3 different incarnations. i think this one will at least be distinct though
They’ve already got a lovely chemistry! I can’t wait
I already love these two together. They are going to be such a fun TARDIS team.
Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman did a 5 city worldwide tour in 2014 apart from Comic-Con. They didn't do that for Jodie, but I see they are doing a worldwide push with Ncuti. I just hope they do a 5 city world wide tour as well...
God, I'm LOVING the chemistry/energy!! RTD is getting the hype back again 🤙
So excited to see them he is going to be a great Doctor! She will be a great companion! Love her accent 😍
*I'm looking forward to seeing them working together on screen!!*
Okay, I love these two!
I love her energy. Millie is gonna be a breath of fresh air.
This is fantastic, exactly what we needed!
Both dynamic duo ready for anything that comes their way i am hyped
From Michigan USA, I can’t wait.
Millie was less than a year old when the show came back....How dare she make me feel this old 😅
oh wow these two are amazing! Let me see the new episodes now!
When Clara "died" (I think she has one heart beat left) I fell out with Dr. Who. This duo might make me come back. I feel a certain energy with them. My interest is peaked.
Exactly the same with me
I tried to give the next series (series 10) a fair shot but I just couldn't bare it - had enough of the declining quality of the show. And less said about the Chibnall Era the better
But I'm getting such a promising vibe from these 2 - I'm really excited about Doctor Who!
I thought you might be interested to know what I think of it now:
(btw, I define series 10 to be from episode 0 - The Return of Doctor Mysterio - to episode 13 - Twice Upon A Time)
Back in the day, I watched Mysterio and the first 3 episodes, gave up on Doctor Who ever since - but randomly watched Empress of Mars (which only convinced me to give up on Doctor Who back then) and Twice Upon A Time (which I thought was pretty good). Turns out, a lot of the episodes in between are great! - so I missed out on them by accident lol :/
Overall, I can't agree with you saying it's brilliant, but I do think series 10 is, just about, great - an 8/10.
A surprisingly good episode :)
Despite my like for series 10's vibe, ultimately episodes 11, 12, and 13 completely abandoned it and went cinematic like how we'd normally expect Doctor Who to be.
Honestly, thank you for encouraging me to give it a chance - it was a good time :)
btw, here are my approximate scores I would give each episode:
The Return of Doctor Mysterio: 7.7/10
The Pilot: 7.8/10
Smile: 7.2/10
Thin Ice: 7.4/10
Knock Knock: 8.4/10
Oxygen: 7.5/10
Extremis: 8.9/10
The Pyramid At The End Of The World: 8.7/10
The Lie Of The Land: 7.4/10
Empress of Mars: 7.1/10
The Eaters Of Light: 7.2/10
World Enough And Time: 9.5/10
The Doctor Falls: 9.2/10
Twice Upon A Time: 8.6/10
the chemistry between them, I love it.
I am ready for this new era so much
Nice look on the new TARDIS in the background, contrast of the yellow sign/windows and blue lamp!
This new era is already so full of life, I love it! I can't wait for the episodes! 😄😄😄
Such charisma and chemistry! Hopes are high!
theyre already fantastic. ncuti IS THE DOCTOR
I love this! It feels young and fresh!
A episode featuring ancient cairo and the Pyramids would be amazing, The Doctor and Ruby could encounter one of the Egyptian gods like Anubis or Apophis (the god of chaos and darkness- a giant Cobra) Imprisoned deep in the Pyramids
You could even bring back Sutekh and The Osirans (as Anubis is the son of Sutekh)
I hope their run will be as glorious as it looked during the first scenes we got to see.
He seems really confident and charismatic, I wonder if he can do the darker side of the Doctor though, I hope so but I’m excited for the new era.
You know you're getting old when you hear the new castmembers talking about growing up with the NuWho Doctors
Agreed! Apart from a few long-running soaps and Blue Peter, there aren't many other TV shows that can do that.
I felt old when the nuwho doctors began I grew up on jon preetwee,Tom baker,Peter davison,Colin baker, slivester McCoy now i feel older lol
This gave me chills and their chemistry is amazing.
I cant wait for this tardis team!!
I fell off during chibnall's era but im SO excited for RTD2!
Ncuti has the best laugh and smile. And you could hardly wish for a more adorable companion. Here's to a long successful run!
I'm excited to see more Ncuti!!!
Had no idea Ncuti had a Scottish accent in real life (after seeing him in Sex Education).
The fact that Millie Gibson grew up on Tennant and Smith gives me hope and joy!
I am so excited to learn more about both the fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday (awesome name, by the way). Ncuti and Millie both seem like awesome people!
This was quite a lot of fun to watch. I like both of them. If this video clip is a clue, they already have a good rapport. That should be positive for the new series.
I love them already! You had me with the don't forget line, I hope we do eventually get it :D
