Scary launch!!! The altitude dropped to 7 feet at one point. How come the boat only generated 10 mph of wind over the bow? An extra 10 or 15 knots sure would have lessened the pucker factor for the crew.

One wonders why they bothered with this contraption. Plenty of Grumman TBM Avengers available and they were superior in every category that mattered. Maybe the Royal Navy asked the Fairey Aircraft Company to design a torpedo bomber and stipulated that it had to have the most bizarre wing fold system possible.

The barracudas were one of the first waves to sink the tirpiz!
Fairy barracudas helped attack the German battleship tirpitz in 1944, later they bombed Japanese targets in pacific
