the reason I love haikyuu so much is because everything is entirely possible. is it crazy to have all of these prodigies and slow mo shots with background dialogue? yes, but everything shown in the anime is something that can and has been done in real life unlike some other highly popular basketball related anime (I love koroku basketball)

Well almost everything. Hinata's "Boom Jump" where he jumped above the blockers and Kageyama's "Stop Set" are a couple things that aren't 100% possible but yeah I agree. I love how real the whole show is
@Bxlqc The stop set is definitely a real thing, I think it was just the way they explained it was completely wrong. as for the boom jump I feel like thats just a mental thing, it is possiblish, you just have to believe and put your all into the jump. but yes they are definitely amongst the most exaggerated parts of the show

@-noplangaming-9268 the stop set is possible, but it's highly illegal as shown in the anime. It's the doublest double in the history of doubles, any coherent ref will call it regardless of how clean it is.
And the boom jump as shown is possible, just not as extreme as the anime makes it seem. Hinata added like 6-10 inches to his vert simply by making a slight change in his jumping mechanics, irl it'll give you like an inch maximum the first time, and around 6 inches if you train it consistently.

using the miya twins’ quick instead of the og is a CRIME
It’s way more accurately the Miya quick because it was done behind the back facing the back of the court while kageyama/hinata quick is either done facing either side of the court or is too far to be that one
because the Miya Twins set is more doable lol
@thegoldenwing226 no?? the slide quick is super common for kageyama and hinata. it’s commented on in the show because slides aren’t very common in men’s volleyball

@mEtil5656 I'm happy to have tons of new volleyball players because of Haikyu, but I agree. Seeing every single volleyball video have comments like "OMG this is Oikawa, omg this is hinata's play!" is getting very stale.
@kylelecrone3162I will have to agree on this. As a football fan and a blue lock fan it gets really old fast when someone makes a reference of a goal or pass similar to the manga/anime.

Im pretty sure that was only a first tempo, because for it to be minus the spiker before the setter sets the ball, needs to already be in a spike.

That wasn’t minus tempo, that was second tempo, as you see he jumps as the ball reaches the setters hand. Minus would be he would already be at the peak of his jump preparing for downswing before the ball even touches the setters hand, and the. The sitter would have to speed set the ball to him so he could strike it, first tempo would have been jumping before the set and minus is jumping usually before the ball even comes to the setters hand/ is higher up than a first tempo set, usually your just hitting your peak right as the ball is set so it’s all lines up perfectly, even professionals only do minus tempo by accident and it’s very rare and is usually only done a few times a season, it’s very rare, first tempo is most common for high speed quicks.

Not to hate but no. 3 was just a really fast first tempo and it was exactly and i mean EXACTLY the same as the one in the show i forgot which match but it was whe sugawara and kageyama were both in and the receive was off so kageyama ran to the ball and set it like that

To be fair its VERY normal to see the setter do this like if u didnt know simeon nikolov then idk what to tell u bc he is first off a player who played and was super unique in the VNL like one of THE highest levels of volleyball and rhe represented bulgaria as a teenager and was doing crazy shit, then went to play for long beach and was known for his crazy plays he pretty much was the most famous volleyball player and probably still is bc this is all VERY recent so like yea kinda sucks that he didnt celebrate w simeon but at this point theyre js so used to seeing him pull crazy stuff so i kinda get it that it slipped his mind

@franvnl There is rule that says you can't be assisted while playing the ball. That's what the wall does.
I absolutely despise how Haikyuu fans act like volleyball was created because of it and not the other way around.
