Congratulations. You've encapsulated the regatta incredibly well, particularly Sunday in the boat tents, 'soaking it all in' and the epic party that follows. Well rowed Thames!
I normally creep, but holy cow man, ever since you evolved and hit under 6:20 on the erg, you’ve morphed into a monster. Gawd dayum man, inspirational as fk. You’re the realest. Great freaking job on the win man, you’ve come so far!
Genuinely the best video I have ever seen. It captured the hole range of emotions you go through in rowing so well. How you feel before and after a race and the thoughts you have while racing. And congrats on the win of course.
Good on ya mate. I remember the last few years of racing and as much as I remember/miss the racing it’s the people and relationships that I miss the most. Would have been great to have the media to look back on like you will be able to. The best of times.
Excellent to see the progress and sheer grit and determination you showed over the year Pat. I always thought of Thames like a smithy’s furnace: a place to test someone’s metal. Some fracture and break under the pressure, some harden and strengthen. Your journey was definitely one to embody this like no other. Was excellent to see you test throughout the year, and even better seeing you take home the win from the grandstand. Well done mate, now take the Intermediate crews further this year and cement Thames as a club not to be trifled with. Thames: we go again; others can’t stay with us; YEA THAMES.
Congratulations - what a win! What a rowing journey you've had. I hope this isn't the end of your rowing vlogs. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us on the first day of Henley last year (clearly we brought you luck! 😄😄😄)
Great job man! I’m honestly thinking about going to college in Europe because rowing is so much more appreciated there. Our boat won states last year, and we didn’t even get on the sports segment of our show. We’re still only a club sport, so the school doesn’t pay for anything and we have to fundraiser ourselves. It’s so nice to see this amazing sport so appreciated
Where do you want to go? To be more specific to which country/region would you like to go to. Because the thing is rowing is in most of Europa a small sport and highly underaprretiated. My school and university doesn't support rowing, too. And it's same with other universitys they lack equipment and staff. I was once training in the same club with a top 3 Europe Lightweigth Single sculler. They had nice boats but this Was basically it. The only exception I could think of is the UK. There are way better condition for athelets, wanting to study and row at the same time. It's funny that you would like to come to europe, because I'd like to go to the US inorder to persue rowing in college
But never the less you should still go for it. Besides rowing and studying, going abroad is an experience worth being made, but you should really look into the places you'd like to go. 🚣♂️👍
It’s so long on and this video makes me happy just seeing it now makes me cry it captures h the pure joy that is rowing without glossing over the time it’s taken to get there
Good effort - nice choice of song with Mr Brightside too. ‘We are young’ by Fun would have worked but a bit too cheesy. Next year, try and lose in the final - can slide in some ‘Into Dust’ by Mazzy Star over some black and white footage ;)
Babe wake up pat hanratty uploaded
So good, big ups Pat, glad to have been able to capture some of it
"You wouldn't use Mr. Brightside for the last EVER vlog"
"See you next szn"
Play with my emotions like that 😭

my dad won the Brit back In 87, he still talks about it, Henley medals stay with you for life!

That’s a great vlog! Congratulations on the win and, as someone who learned to row there long ago, I loved seeing the King’s Chester clips.
3:40 is that the phone footage Haynes was taking next to me in the floater?
