I really like how you put it in different perspectives. I think that it gives D.R.A.M. some attention. I've never heard of D.R.A.M. until Hotline Bling came out. Maybe it can create more fans for him. I definitely like both songs anyway. I think in music history, artists bite or sample beats/lyrics/RIDDIMS(as you so put it)/song samples and it's acceptable. Not a lot of big hits out there are original anyway. For example.........ICE ICE Baby (sampled), J-Lo bites Debra Laws Very special, Jay-Z bites actual lyrics.....99 problems by ICE-T....these are all big hits that adopted so-called RIDDIMS and lyrics. I can't believe this fool has the nerve to compare Hip-Hop to Dancehall. Dancehall is a sub genre of Reggae music and Hip-Hop was technically born out of that. Since then, Hip-Hop has evolved into it's own culture and it's foundation is in MCing and originality. Dancehall operates the way it does in Jamaica because the culture and the musical climate is different. Like Akademiks said, the entertainers are called "DJs" not rappers or MC's. Plus, the riddims that dancehall artist go on can't be put on an album because that's essentially the producers song. But away, all of this doesn't matter, because with artists like Kendrick and Joey Bada$$ still breathing, Drake won't be changing anything anytime soon.
