      so i'm from the younger millennial generation and when i first heard this singer i wanted to make fun of the singing originally, but someone heard me making fun of the song and they said i actually sound pretty damn good, i was just doing an impression of the guy i had no intention of sounding as good, i did the same with the begees and their staying alive song lol.
      but i never expected people actually would like this style of singing, apparently i learned that i have what is called a natural falsetto which is apparently highly sought after in the music business because it's rare people can pull it off without lots of practice like i do.
      i'm no singer, but i do enjoy making fun of songs by mimicking their style, so i went on a journey looking up other falsetto singers and there are a good variety of them out there, it's still rare but they exist even now i just didn't really care to listen to them until now.
      anyway i have grown to really like lou christie's songs while i went on this journey.

      @@user-tp5yb4hr4w hahaha Listen, youngster! It doesn't matter that you began your discovery by mimicking falsettos voices -- what is important is that you learned how important and highly valued a falsetto is. Lou Christie was especially well-known in the 60's for his flawless falsetto, as was Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons, who still performs live. In more recent years, have you heard Prince's falsetto? He's just one example. If you can sing well in a 'regular' octave with a lovely falsetto as well, and know when to bring it out, you can do well. Good luck, youngun.

    I was probably in elementary or junior high when most of these songs came out, I remember the songs, but didn’t pay any attention to the artists back then. Now I love listening to 60’s music, reminds me of my childhood. I like playing it when I am cleaning, makes me clean better, why is that?? My favorites are Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton and now Lou Christie.

    Can't say that I've ever been a huge Christie fan, but I saw him perform, once, at The Wolf Den, Mohegan Sun, Connecticut, and he was polished and entertaining. Unfortunately for me, a little of his falsetto goes a long way. In that regard, he's like The Newbeats (remember them? "Bread And Butter"? "Run Baby Run"?). It astounds me, sometimes, to think back at how different the taste for pop music was in the middle 60's. In my area of the world, The Newbeats were played repeatedly - as was Christie. It's hard to imagine that kind of thing ever being popular again.
    Nevertheless, you do a remarkable job with your channel, Sonny, and I always find lots to enjoy here. Keep up the good work, buddy!

    • @sonnysoldies5288
      @sonnysoldies5288  4 года назад +5

      I respect your feelings and I grew up with both those artists and after Bread And Butter I thought The Newbeats had some better songs and some of Lou's lesser hits are still my favorites to this day.

      I learned something also...I really never heard that song before but I like it a lot now. I was able to get a clean version from RUclips but I don't think there's an instrumental of a "B" side release even though it made #25 in England.
