A Luton fan of Scots family heritage, this Gers away Euro result/performance is right up there with Leeds (2-1) 1992 and Lyon (3-0) when I attended both with Rangers...........I'm just gutted at not being able to be there last night among fellow Luton Loyal pal Gus Watson, Paisley Bears Claire & John Hanlon and Kilsyth buddy Duncan Angus - who WERE all there to see this brilliant spectacle..............it's only Half Time, most Rangers fans would have been delighted to have just taken a draw back to Ibrox next week..........but a deserved 4-2 WIN!!!!!!!!!! .....Fantasy Island stuff.

There are only 10.000 people allowed still in Dortmund and the Ultras (the people who are the loudest and coordinate support) were not there. If there had been 80.000 people and the Ultras had been there, you wouldn't be heard nearly as much, even if you could've brought 8.000 away supporters yourself. Not to shame you or anything, it's just being realistic. That being said, congrats mate!

Thanks for sharing thogden , I was at the Munich game with my late dad when I was young it was my first away European game and as heartbreaking it was for me and mols in that game, I never forgot the experience , I've just said to my Sox year old son, to remember seeing this game and watching your video which gave us a unique view of the rangers fans and something we will be speaking about in many years to come.

Great coverage but I think it's unfair to put Rangers win down to how badly Dortmund played, Rangers pressed them from the 1st minute to the end and no team could've coped with Ryan Kent he terrified the Dortmund defence, it was great to see three of the best goals I've seen this season and two of them were Dortmunds.

Was amazing being a Rangers fan was a special night that will live forever in my if not most of our memories. Unfortunately for Dortmund fans they didn’t get the expected result they had 2 clear chances early on which could have finished the tie off but it’s only half way done. It will make the game at Ibrox that even more great to watch. From a support point of view that Rangers-in-Europe thing really is something to see, and I'm glad you've taken your chance to see it as you would doubt it if I were to describe what goes on. In places where Rangers fans have contacts they will always take up many seats within the home end. There is even a company that organises flight/hotel/away end tickets and I've had a great service from them many times. I would say that two-thirds of my trips abroad have seen me in the home end. I even recall a closed-doors game when Inter Milan were subject to a UEFA ruling and Rangers fans blagged their way in wearing suits, pretending to be representatives of either UEFA or Rangers FC! Our games against the big guns can be few and far between. UEFA have done everything possible to throw as much money as possible at teams from the big four nations. On the other side of the fence teams from Scotland, Poland, Belgium, Romania, and so on have been thrown on the rubbish heap and left with scraps. Every year the big clubs from small nations have their chances lessened as UEFA try to make the hurdles they face insurmountable. If it is to truly be a European game then major re-organisation is required because UEFA are shaping things in a way that spells NO FUTURE to fans of clubs such as Rangers. With each wild demand from a Man Utd or Barcelona comes yet another concession from the Swiss authorities, and this concession is just another big boot where it hurts for teams from Glasgow to Prague to Belgrade. Everton - done nothing in 30yrs - witnessed Nathan Patterson in Europe last season. A promising international full-back. In came the Toffees with what was loose change to them, and out went Patterson for what was a fortune to Rangers. Of course it could've been worse. We now face a situation where Rangers can develop another Billy Gilmour type and if a club like Southampton likes the look of the 15yo they can offer silly money and years of development go entirely unrewarded. Should a club with 50k at each home game and a proud history face a situation where the ruling body forces them into the status as a feeder club for troubled sides in big countries? You can imagine what fans of Rangers and similar clubs think. It's an absolute travesty and it hurts in our hearts as much as it damages us on the pitch. We are being geographically handicapped in a game that is supposed to be for all of Europe. This state of affairs led me to believe that Dortmund would've had the match finished, with a 3-goal lead to take to a stroll at Ibrox. Consider the above and you will realise that David just beat Goliath 4-2 in the first leg. However this match is far from over. We beat Lyon 3-0 away and lost 3-0 at home 15yrs ago. Anything is possible, but for one night Europe's paupers ran riot, stealing all that they could from the billionaire's palace. And Alfredo Morelos' value just doubled for any scouts from Newcastle or Brighton looking in.
You are absolutely spot on in everything you stated mate, it is sickening. Our club, people do not realise the size of the mighty Gers, we're up there with the likes of Man Utd, etc, the only reason we've been so crowded out is during a building phase coming up from Third Division and above all else, the colossal financial gap, it's a sad reality, which is why we've had to look toward unproven talent and exploit much like what Ajax did with a young squad, so there's still hope there, but it's more challenging. Tell you what though, it makes victories like this all the more sweeter because you just know the atmosphere is going to be absolute pumped, just wait for the night at Ibrox and you'll hear it go way up a notch from any of the previous few seasons.

From a support point of view that Rangers-in-Europe thing really is something to see, and I'm glad you've taken your chance to see it as you would doubt it if I were to describe what goes on. In places where Rangers fans have contacts they will always take up many seats within the home end. There is even a company that organises flight/hotel/away end tickets and I've had a great service from them many times. I would say that two-thirds of my trips abroad have seen me in the home end. I even recall a closed-doors game when Inter Milan were subject to a UEFA ruling and Rangers fans blagged their way in wearing suits, pretending to be representatives of either UEFA or Rangers FC!
Our games against the big guns can be few and far between. UEFA have done everything possible to throw as much money as possible at teams from the big four nations. On the other side of the fence teams from Scotland, Poland, Belgium, Romania, and so on have been thrown on the rubbish heap and left with scraps. Every year the big clubs from small nations have their chances lessened as UEFA try to make the hurdles they face insurmountable.
If it is to truly be a European game then major re-organisation is required because UEFA are shaping things in a way that spells NO FUTURE to fans of clubs such as Rangers. With each wild demand from a Man Utd or Barcelona comes yet another concession from the Swiss authorities, and this concession is just another big boot where it hurts for teams from Glasgow to Prague to Belgrade.
Everton - done nothing in 30yrs - witnessed Nathan Patterson in Europe last season. A promising international full-back. In came the Toffees with what was loose change to them, and out went Patterson for what was a fortune to Rangers. Of course it could've been worse. We now face a situation where Rangers can develop another Billy Gilmour type and if a club like Southampton likes the look of the 15yo they can offer silly money and years of development go entirely unrewarded.
Should a club with 50k at each home game and a proud history face a situation where the ruling body forces them into the status as a feeder club for troubled sides in big countries? You can imagine what fans of Rangers and similar clubs think. It's an absolute travesty and it hurts in our hearts as much as it damages us on the pitch. We are being geographically handicapped in a game that is supposed to be for all of Europe.
This state of affairs led me to believe that Dortmund would've had the match finished, with a 3-goal lead to take to a stroll at Ibrox. Consider the above and you will realise that David just beat Goliath 4-2 in the first leg. However this match is far from over. We beat Lyon 3-0 away and lost 3-0 at home 15yrs ago. Anything is possible, but for one night Europe's paupers ran riot, stealing all that they could from the billionaire's palace.
And Alfredo Morelos' value just doubled for any scouts from Newcastle or Brighton looking in.
You are absolutely spot on in everything you stated mate, it is sickening. Our club, people do not realise the size of the mighty Gers, we're up there with the likes of Man Utd, etc, the only reason we've been so crowded out is during a building phase coming up from Third Division and above all else, the colossal financial gap, it's a sad reality, which is why we've had to look toward unproven talent and exploit much like what Ajax did with a young squad, so there's still hope there, but it's more challenging.
Tell you what though, it makes victories like this all the more sweeter because you just know the atmosphere is going to be absolute pumped, just wait for the night at Ibrox and you'll hear it go way up a notch from any of the previous few seasons.

remember rangers had at one time the biggest domestic football ground in Europe with a record crowd of over 118.000 attendance inside Ibrox stadium and regular crowds of over the hundred thousands in the days and 90.000 when we played Bayern's Munich in 72 semi final when we beat them with more than half of the world cup whining German team of 74 playing for Bayern . rangers forever .💙⚽️

3rd division of Scottish football to beating Dortmund away in ten years. That is what you can do with a fan base of 45-50 thousand turning up every week in the Scottish 3rd, 2nd, and 1st division. No other club in the world would get those numbers showing up in the 4th division of their national league. We constantly fight in higher divisions and shock those that have no clue. 3 of their players were bought for more than our entire 28 men 1st team squad.
