You need to set the spark plug gap! Champion spark plugs are made for a variety of engines sizes which require varying spark gaps, check your owners manual for the proper spark gap.
I just phoned gererac today and apparently the spark plug gap changes by year it was made so mine was made in 2020 and is a 16 kw and the gap is 0.020 inches and I believe a 2023 model would be 0.040 inches best to take a few minutes and phone generac with your serial number and get the proper gap.
Can I ask a question? Why won't my brand-new Generac standby start? It cranks and cranks but won't start, has power has fuel/propane. Did the setup check the fuse spark plugs are connected didn't take them out. Any ideas?
When putting the front panel back on I long ago noticed that mine rattled right there where the pins sit in the slot. I got creative and bought a cheap 3/4" rubber gromet and cut in in half and slipped it in and no more rattles!

Recommend you verify the spark plug gap and add antiseize grease to the threads. Otherwise this is a good tutorial on a quick and easy job.
Thank you! You taught me and it was easy. My generac is fixed now! (It wouldn't start for over two weeks)
Nice! Glad I could help ya!

My guess is there's no spark or fuel getting to it.
What size socket? 3/8, 5/8 15/16?
5/8
Thank you for the visual on changing the rear
Not a problem!
Very thorough but you did not mention plug gap. The plug is generic and has multiple uses. I have to gap mine to .040" or 1.02mmm for my generac model
No torque specs?

Oh that's interesting. Maybe I should see if mine does the same thing.
They also have spark plug wrenches with magnets
Oh that's cool! Never actually saw those before.
I watched this video to find the required gap and I still don't know!
Great video, thank you so much!!
Glad I could help ya!
Did you see my video on when I lost power and my generator was on?
Oh no I had not actually.
@@Sharkie626 in case you didn’t see or dynatrak didn’t tell you, in august I got my Coleman replaced back in august with a 2023 carrier comfort
After changing spark plugs, all a guy needs to do is say BRING THE THUNDER like VGG and then startup the generator!
Why didn't you gap them
