- Watch me attempt to recreate The Beach Boys 1962 classic, "Surfin' Safari" using ONLY Safari Pedals plugin's and Logic Pro X. I walk through each track and how I did it, in a hopefully fun and informative way.
Check out Safari Pedals plugins for yourself here: safaripedals.com

Five stars! Excellent recording job, Chris! What you have done is a kind of "reverse recording" from the way most people do it today. Instead of creating mountains of tracks and layer upon layer of plug-ins and unnecessary digital BS, you have done a great job stripping things down to the bare essentials. This is exactly how the Beach Boys did it in 1962. We need musicians to start getting back to this kind of Totally Basic Recording! The MUSIC comes first, not the technology! . You just need some basic instruments gathered together in a small recording space, some guys and/or girls (or one guy like you) playing them really well, and combine that with excellent harmonized vocals. Some very simple EQ, compression, reverb, etc. and that's all you need to make fantastic records. Just ask the Beatles, and Elvis, and thousands of the greatest musicians of that "primitive" era of tape recording, who did it exactly the same way.
Sounds Just Like The Beach Boys-Terrific
Sounds great , wish I could hear the whole song .
I'm putting out a full LP at the end of May and it will be on it so stay tuned! Thanks!
@@ChrisCronMusicCan you add the backing track too the end as well?
You drew me in but stopped short of the payoff. 😮😢. NO, don’t do that! (This last week my wife and I wrote Tribute (aka “parody”) lyrics for the reunion of her Escanaba High School class for a little party, against karaoke tracks for Beach Boys songs, Escanaba Girls, Escanaba Dreaming, and Be True to Our School. (Plus, N. Diamond’s Sweet Esky High So fine, so fine so fine, we’re the class of of 69, and VMorrison’s My Esky Girl hey where did we go after the big day?). I jumped into the deep end of the pool of all things Brian Wilson and fell in love with his music again! And his composition and production ways. Makes me want to Do It Again! Thanks for this video!!
You're like a wizard, man. Damn impressive!
Ah thanks!!
Wow you are a master! You're like a "mad scientist" haha😂 Awesome work! ....cant go wrong with The Beach Boys 🍻

Hey Chris! New fan here from the JHS vid. The kids and I binged all your vids earlier. Love your stuff!
Your voice reminds me of Jeffrey Foskett’s. Crazy pure falsettos. Keep it up!
do "i get around" please
For some reason the voice sync was off for most of the videos especially towards the end. Very annoying to watch. Maybe just me but yeah...
Oh, you actually found one of those shirts!
I don't normally comment on stuff like this..but seriously amazing work
Well thanks Andrew.
my dude's still churning out new music, i'm just so happy to be able to see this
While we're on the Subject of recording Beach Boys tracks, here's another of mine, sadly I haven't recorded the music, that's the OG instrumental. But I did all the Vocals, I added a Beach Boys vid for context. (Incidentally,, I use the Adam A7x's too. Great monitors)

Very educational and extremely well done, thanks for teaching me a lot. I wish I could hear your entire track but I assume you are restricted by RUclips copyright laws.

Well done on all levels 😎🤙
Wow! Thanks, Chris 😊
Awesome 😎
Thank you!
YES!!
Yes. It is a simple song. So simple, it was already written when the Beach Boys "created" it. It's "Sweet Little 16." By Chuck Berry.
I believe the song similar to Sweet Little 16 is "Surfin' USA", not "Surfing Safari". Also note that Berry was no stranger to "borrowing" from other artists.
@@259Den3 Yes, you are correct! My mistake. And while all music is derivative to some degree, the Beach Boys' "borrowing" seems to me quite blatant.
Awesome.
why didnt you play the entire song ?
Didn’t want the video to get too long but maybe I can post the whole thing
