Dear Sissel, there is no way your living has been in vain, you have, and still do, bring glorious joy to us with your pure and pitch perfect voice. The feeling in the song is heaven to listen to. Thank you.
Dear Sissel! You Need not ask this question. You helped so many of us, bringing joy and delight with your singing. Your living has definitely not been in vain, just the opposit! Thank you so much.
Thank you Sissel. I was introduced to you when you first sang with the tabernacle choir. We are in the area because my 1 year old nephew was fighting for his life at primary children's hospital. We were going to miss church so we went to the tabernacle to help keep our spirits up. It was a celebration of Norway and you sang "like an angel passing through my room". We knew you sang to us and it stands as one of the musical highlights of our lives. That means a lot coming from a musical family. Thanks for all you continue to do for us. You have a very strong spirit about you. We love you💖
Gospel songs at least the classics have theology all through them, there are songs that teach us how to live out our faith and how to worship God, Sissel sang the song on this post like Mahila Jackson. What a beautiful thing.
WoW! That deep voice in the beginning of the song made me wonder if this was really Sissel. But by the end, I knew that only Sissel can sing the high high notes so beautifully and melodically. Thank you, Dear Sissel, for yet another inspiring, musical message to remind all of us why we're on this planet. Good Wishes for the coming Good Will Season!!
Your beautiful voice and inspiring presence has helped me through a very tough time in my life. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. No sweet Angel of Norway, your living has not been in vain.
How beautiful is this? This has to be the most sincerely sung version of this lovely song with it's much needed message for today's world. Thank you Sissel. Love from Ireland.
I feel connected to you thru your music, especially the song you sang with Jose Carreras: Sissel Kyrkjebø & Jose Carreras - Quando Sento che Mi Ami,,, that song really spoke to me on an emotional level
I first heard Sissel when she sang our city song in my home town of Bergen Norway in 1986. It was a European Bergensiana music festival, and this young girl of 18 came on stage and sang, "Jeg tok min Nystemte". It's an old and very difficult song from the history of Bergen, and she nailed it. The rest is history for this very wonderful Norwegian gift to the world. If you want to hear her incredible voice even back then, it's on RUclips here at ruclips.net/video/V56XCxor9jc/видео.html
These are the words as sung by Ernie Ford many years ago If I can help somebody, as I pass along If I can cheer somebody, with a word or a prayer, song If I can show some traveler, he's going wrong Then my living shall not be in vain Then my living shall not be in vain Then my living shall not be in vain If I can help somebody, as I pass along Then my living shall not be in vain. Then my living shall not be in vain Then my living shall not be in vain If I can help somebody, as I pass along Then my living shall not be in vain
If I can help somebody, as I travel along If I can help somebody, with a word or song If I can help somebody, from doing wrong Then my living shall not be in vain If I can do my duty, as a good man, as a good man want If I can bring back beauty, to a world abroad If I can spread loves message, as the master told Then my living shall not be in vain My living shall not be in vain No, my living shall not be in vain No, my living shall not be in vain If I can help somebody, as I travel along Then my living shall not be in vain
A beautiful Japanese tale came to my mind:"Mother Crab and the Moon"...It may be just another way phrasing your song. (Cancer or crab? You know better!)
