Great Idea to have filtered data at SFDC level ,then to have Validation @ SFMC -please upload more videos like this so we can validate at SFDC level itself

    Hi Cam,
Great content,I have a request to do more videos on Salesforce to MC data flow and vice-versa ,also if you create based on real time use-cases would be great.

    Hi Cam,
What happens when the field you want to use is not displaying in the dropdown list? Any ideas to troubleshoot? (E.G. My version of the SFMC_Sync field is not appearing as an option)

    Awesome video Cam :)
Question for you... What happens if:
Salesforce Lead has SFMC_SYNC = true and has syncronized into SFMC
A week later, Salesforce Lead now has SFMC_SYNC = false.
I understand that new data updates from Salesforce won't be pushed into SFMC, but does anything in happen in SFMC to flag that it no longer is synchronized?

The record is no longer pushed into the Sync DE (and will be removed). However the subscriber record will remain as a contact in Marketing Cloud, so you may need to do a contact delete process.

@@CameronRobert legend! Thanks! This has really helped with a big clean up of crappy data in MC 👌

I am curious why you didn't use formula field for this solution? Doesn't MC work well with formula fields?

I usually do this with a batch (apex) in case the org already has millions of records that are not going to be modified

Exactly right, the method I show will only work for records that are created/updated from that point onwards, a batch update is required to align all existing records (but that is more the realm of the SFDC Admin)
