  • Ryan Moore is one of the world's best jockeys, winning Derby's, over 50 Royal Ascot winners and enjoying plenty of success at the Breeders' Cup. Moore has also won two King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes, and this year has the ride on dual Group 1 winner Japan as he bids to beat Enable on her tilt at history.
Moore sits down with our own Matt Chapman, discussing all things King George, as well as some wider issues and talking points in racing.

The greatest achievers in many aspects of life are not always the most naturally sociable, he’s just a normal, humble and quiet lad who happens to be great at what he does!

Ryan moore is a great jockey. He's not a public speaker. He clearly gets very nervy when he's speaking and it gets on top of him. I could be wrong but I think he may be hiding a stammer. His breathing methods, last second word changing and slow quiet words kind of give it away. I have a stammer myself and I would be surprised if i was wrong. He grew up with horses and does what he loves despite not liking the media side of it, which I think shows alot of guts. He may have been rusty early in the season but he is no doubt a top jock and the master at sandown without question. Great interview by Matt

Ryan is a nice lad, quiet and gets on with it. Need more people like him in the workplace where its filled with gossips, nosy gits and people that cant shut up for 5 minutes.

Sympathy for Ryan continually being asked questions he'd rather not answer for obvious reasons.

Interesting comments from everyone. I found this interview very informative. As for his personality, it is what it is. Moore to me appears to have a dry sense of humour, he cracked a few one liners.

Lamtarra was my first winner and to this day my best horse ever backed. They say frankel was the best horse but he was unbackable. Lamtarra was a small horse so he was underestimated every race he ran which made him great odds everytime he won . Even in one race he got swallowed up after hitting the front a thought hes beat ,no he dug deep and got back up in a group race thats quite something. A have been betting 30 years lamtara all the way .Triple crown champion. Best of all time. Look him up all on youtube...

ryan is what he is, and he shouldn't be judged, everybody is different. some people don't like interviews or being in front of the camera, so you will never know what they're truly like in person away from all cameras. you can't compare someone to somebody else and point out why you are not like them...life ain't like that.
