I was going to ask the same question! What confuses me is if they were embarrassed, I'm wondering why they didn't *at least* take out the large pieces of trash and fries, before sending it to be detailed. There have been times when I've let my car get messy (not this messy though), but the couple times that I did leave it at the cleaners, I cleaned out the trash first, which was completely motivated by embarrassment and not wanting the cleaners to be aggravated with me.

I detail vehicles and I actually enjoy cleaning dirtier cars. Its more satisfying to see before and after. One tip I wanna add is you can clean floor mats cleaner if you add carpet cleaner and tide cold wash too. It takes most stains out from carpet and floor.

  • @CardinalDXMP

Detail Groove - At 5:00 you mention that sometimes, with some vehicles, they have change/coins in the car but they're ALL filthy and gross, and you said if that's the case, then you don't even keep them (which I assume means you throw them away). Just wanted to say you can quickly restore face value coins by throwing them all in a small container or cup, dumping enough CLR in it to cover them, and letting it sit for 5 minutes. No longer than that because the CLR will start to destroy newer pennies in particular, but then just shake it for like 10 seconds and dump the CLR out and pour water in the container and shake again. This will clear 95% of the gunk off of coins with no manual finger scrubbing needed. However it will tint the coins brownish from the copper from the pennies, but they'll still be considered useable currency and they won't be sticky and gross anymore.
I had a bunch of nasty gunked up coins that I'd had in my car for years, that have been sitting in a ziploc bag on my desk for a long time because I didn't know what to do with them as they were too nasty to use. Finally I discovered that that was the best way to restore them. If you separate the pennies from the other coins before the CLR wash, the results will of course be better, but that takes more time.

    • @Criterion515

TheCrazymicki - Why do you think the only alternative is throwing it out the window? Have you never heard of putting your trash in a bag? This is as bad as my husband. I HAVE a bag, specifically for trash, it lives on little hooks on my console specifically for this purpose (neat feature of my car). He actually asked me one time, why do you have that bag there? I said, for trash. Still... I can't figure it out for the life of me... anytime he drives my car I can count on digging trash out of my center console and door pockets. Drives me crazy. I just don't get it. Just PUT IT IN THE FREAKIN' BAG! It's not rocket science.

A trick while vacuuming is to use a brush to bring all the dirt in one spot then suck that up. You can then proceed to vacuum the whole area. It is much easier that way.
