  • Riding horses requires a high level of cardiovascular fitness. For this reason, increasing your aerobic endurance or staying power is very crucial. The best way to do this is a "Tabata Workout" - a type of high-intensity interval training. Ali and Mari show you how it works!

    This is excellent! We've all have had that friend or colleague that tells us that horseback riding isn't a sport, that it's just the horse that does all the work! That can either make us laugh or exasperate us 😁
    But what if we started treating it like a sport ourselves? The more videos like these that are put out the more riders will realize that they also have to work on themselves 😊

      Thanks a lot TheStriveToRide! 😁 Yes, it's very true that it's not just the horse that does all the work! We hope to put that straight with these videos, and hopefully inspire riders to keep fit for both themselves and their horses.

      It certainly IS aerobic exercise! I challenge someone who does not actually ride to post the trot around a riding ring three times and see how far they get (although I am much older than most riders)

    I think the push-ups are what would really get me.

      Push-ups are definitely one of the most demanding moves on our upper body strength. The modification is on your knees which will make it a bit more manageable! Hope this helps!
