  • Rashad Hosein was born in Trinidad in 1998 and has lived and studied there since. He holds a BA in Literatures in English and Linguistics from the University of the West Indies and is currently on the MFA program.
    Rashad was a finalist for the BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Award for Caribbean writers (2020), has been longlisted for the Royal Society of Literature's V.S. Pritchett prize (2021), the Galley Beggar Press Short Story Prize (2021) and was shortlisted twice for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize (2019, 2021).
    Rashad recently won Reed Magazine’s John Steinbeck Award for Fiction for his short story “Saga”, his first major literary award.
