Yeah isn't that nuts? And then he ended up being worth 100s of millions himself to have the best job ever. And yeah, from 2005, high school era, I saw this on tv at the time
@lovelessissimo They were actually first created for Jeremy and his sister and then later went into full production after discussing with original creator of Paddington
I was actually here to say that. She even sounds like Izzy very much 😂 Izzy if you're reading this you don't need face app to see how you look when you get old just go look at your grandma 😂
Genetics are crazy like that. I’m 23, and my Mamaw just showed me a picture of her father, my great grandfather, when he was my age, and it actually freaked me out a bit. We looked so similar.
Their mothers driving and testing those cars in the first segment of this video, is actually the best idea Top Gear ever had. Let's be real here if an older lady can start and drive a car, you made a very good car to use for every day commuting.
A good chunk of the fans originally were definitely all car lovers, in the early days. But from basically season 3/4 onward yeah, it became one of the funniest shows on tv and 90% of people always skipped the intro segment where they review a car just to get to the News and main segment of the episode haha. Cars were just tangential.
Kraft durch freude, the original moniker given to the car we all know and love as the Volkswagen Beetle nowadays. The Kdf-wagen contrary to popular belief, was not designed by the nation's leader of the time; he only commissioned it. There were also other designs being considered, but the design by Ferdinand Porsche was the one that finally took the accolade and rose to centre stage..!! 😉👍
I loved the episode with their mums! Each of them was EXACTLY how I imagined their mums would be. I particularly loved the bit with Hammond talking about his mum's "telephone voice", because my own dear late mum did the same thing!
@RayBanner-1 I think there must be an issue with older Honda windows cos I have experienced the same thing. My grandparents Jazz had the same thing and then my parents CRV too 😂
30:42 is such a funny sequence of events from Jeremy saying "alligators mate" to James calling Jeremy and insufferable oaf and Hammond just laughing in the background 😂
The part with the mothers made me miss my own mom. She actually raced in college before I was born, both my parents did, so I'd always just taken it for granted she knew more about cars than I ever will.
13:50 I don't know how Jeremy can make any ordinary statement sound humorous. "You're going to be taken into a cara-van" ("Lets go; Don't follow them in there")
That look on James' face when his mum says 'low profile tyres', glorious
funniest line that came out of may's mouth
Its brilliant to see the Top Gear Mums again, after 22 years or so. RIP Shirley Clarkson, creator of the Paddington Bear stuffed toy, d.2014
Yeah isn't that nuts? And then he ended up being worth 100s of millions himself to have the best job ever.
And yeah, from 2005, high school era, I saw this on tv at the time
That's so sad that she died. What a great mum.
Did Jeremy get the first one?
@lovelessissimo They were actually first created for Jeremy and his sister and then later went into full production after discussing with original creator of Paddington
James' mum being faster than him is so precious
To be fair, I don't know anyone slower than captain slow 😅😂
What's funny is I'd actually love a whole show where it's just the mothers discussing the practicalities of different cars.
Id really appreciate a show thats buying advice for new parents. Especially when talking about cars.
Then you are just as boring as me😂
True
When I'm old and slow, I will know what to buy.
*Still can't quite believe how many incredible moments these 3 gave us. Thousands and thousands and thousands of laughs.*
1:22 Of course both Hammonds are fixing their hair 😂
"I have NOT had my hair straightened..." 😁
😂
That killed me!
The mum's bit is so cute, you can see May's "my mum's cooler than yours" all written on his smug face when she started:D
Seeing the way their mothers discuss about the cars, I now know where our trio got their bickering from
It’s in the genetics.😂😂😂
Haha true, though that's just how most Brits interact
@KaladinVegapunk I agree😂🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻
Just realised how much Izzie looks like Mother Hammond🤯
Absolutely does!
I was actually here to say that. She even sounds like Izzy very much 😂 Izzy if you're reading this you don't need face app to see how you look when you get old just go look at your grandma 😂
well they say the men that look like there mothers are considered the “cutest”…..obviously that trait probably went to one of his brothers 😂
Genetics are crazy like that. I’m 23, and my Mamaw just showed me a picture of her father, my great grandfather, when he was my age, and it actually freaked me out a bit. We looked so similar.
@nicholasharshbarger4454i know what you're saying, I look quite like my maternal grandfather when he was a young lad
Their mothers driving and testing those cars in the first segment of this video, is actually the best idea Top Gear ever had. Let's be real here if an older lady can start and drive a car, you made a very good car to use for every day commuting.
8:16 that look on James' face is still killing me after all those years!!
I was thinking about that moment two days ago, always kills me every time.
I love that Hammond's mum checks her blindspot even on a friggin runway. Good habits = good drivers.
meanwhile, her son....
That picture of Hammond with long hair and James saying "Dogtanian" were priceless!
We watched Top gear not because we loved cars, but because we loved Jeremy James and Richard
And there mums 😂
well it’s actually both
A good chunk of the fans originally were definitely all car lovers, in the early days. But from basically season 3/4 onward yeah, it became one of the funniest shows on tv and 90% of people always skipped the intro segment where they review a car just to get to the News and main segment of the episode haha. Cars were just tangential.
The mums episode was the best ever, amazing to see mums and sons together
6:26 the legendary British smokers cough at work
I love how sweet they all are with the mothers, very lovely
20:43 “Strength through joy” is crazy 😂😂
Well as we know James is a fan of the lovely people's car.
19:42 (lols) “Work sets you free” James damn
@danielressel6138 lol I missed that part that reference and call back is hilarious!!
@danielressel6138Arbeit macht frei - Work sets you free, was a slogan found at Auschwitz...
Kraft durch freude, the original moniker given to the car we all know and love as the Volkswagen Beetle nowadays. 13:00 "Chin up, we're camping" 😂
Whot
This came up just as the scene did 😂😂 its the face pure disappointment
Before Richard and the " noo, you can bring the dog in as well " x2😂
Dogtanion 😂
I loved the episode with their mums! Each of them was EXACTLY how I imagined their mums would be. I particularly loved the bit with Hammond talking about his mum's "telephone voice", because my own dear late mum did the same thing!
6:52 telephone voice. 😂😂😂😂😂
James look of confusion when his mum talks about low profile tires is perfect! :D
Anyone else notice that during the cheap American car laps, both the original music and the non-copyright updated music plays.
just enough greeking for the copyright content detector not to detect the Wichita Lineman
Top Gear with the three lads back in the day was the proper comedy
6:08 I didn't expect to see that meme here
And the Honda jazz is the only car you can still see on the roads today in 2025/26!
The honda jizz
Reliable, easy to maintain and use. My wife has one for 9 years and apart from front passenger's window being stuck, remains faultless
I still see them around as well! They're called the Honda Fit over here, but it's the same car. Very reliable.
@RayBanner-1 I think there must be an issue with older Honda windows cos I have experienced the same thing. My grandparents Jazz had the same thing and then my parents CRV too 😂
@CMS-qo3wzits the eletric motors they used the Mitsubishis from the same period have the same issue. And it always seems yo be the front passenger
Hamond's mom is the visual genetics, May's mom, the social.
30:42 is such a funny sequence of events from Jeremy saying "alligators mate" to James calling Jeremy and insufferable oaf and Hammond just laughing in the background 😂
The mum challenge is one of my fav all time Top Gear episodes. Also, it's astonishing how much Richard's daughter looks like his mum!
the caravan holiday has to be the funniest episode
23:40 The still smoking Bathjacket + the rubbing Tire on the burned caravan kills me…😂😂😂
Thank you for these many funny Details over so many years 🙏🙏🙏
16:12 I’d completely forgotten about Jeremy’s secret weapon! 😂😂😂😂😂
I am certain Dave did not show that!!!
God, I miss this show every Sunday night even now 😂
Seen this but nice seeing it again
Everyone’s see it……..it’s 13 years old 😂😂😂😂
Havn't seen it, but I hate seeing it now
@Thatotherbloke1 And why is that?
@MrJayscinema54 reg Jazz - prob aired 2005
@MrJayscinemamore like almost 23 years ago 😱
Hammond's mum checking to see if there's anyone on the track, 😂😂😂
“She’s indicating!!!” 😂😂😂😂
Hammond and May being as far away from each other in the bed is so funny
The mothers segment is one of the best television ever created!
Clearly Captain slow did not take after his mom😂😂😂 Mrs May was first off the blocks😂😂😂
Seeing the top gear mums with their sons is somewhat adorable.
22:48 POTATO! 🥔🥔‼️😄
So apparently Mrs. May is the fastest. Yes. 😂😂😂
James's raspy laugh at Hamsters pictures was priceless
They all look just like their moms. That's hilarious.
And my Mother drove the jazz for ten years. Last week i got her 4x4 fiat pand 💪💪💪
James' mom is badass at driving.
Only jezza could cause a fire by just peeling potatoes
Love all the Mums!!
The mums episode and especially the get-going race was brilliant
what a wholesome episode that was 💕💕💕
Playing the prisoner series music is just brilliant.
The part with the mothers made me miss my own mom. She actually raced in college before I was born, both my parents did, so I'd always just taken it for granted she knew more about cars than I ever will.
caravalcatraz lives forever rent free in my mind
look who came crying back 😂
16:02 “there’s gonna be swearing”. 😭😭
This is absolute gold ❤
@ 25:15 Hammond is doing an immaculate Courage the Cowardly Dog impression💀
I kept clicking it to loop effect 😂😂😂 so true
"Dog~tagnan!" 😂😂😂
Filmed in 2005 😱😱😱😱
They all look so much like their mother's 🤣
8:00 "NoOoOh" always gets me.
This is hilarious! Well played!
I adore this episode and the mums, and especially how Mrs May was clearly the hot shoe of the three.
😊😂 I love this❤
that moma moment is an incredible display of love
Mrs Hammond sounds exactly like Hammonds daughter does now 😂
One of the greatest moments of TV was Clarkson revealing Hammonds photo to May! Just funny!
still the best name for a dog 😂
I never get tired of watching the mothers do all the tests.
12:40 James "in fact I'm a Quaker" May is gonna make it simple 😊
Have to keep quite but trains go past😂😂😂
0:38 ''The child locks must be on.'' Absolute gold.
I just noticed the family resemblance in Richard's mum's face with his daughter Izzie.
"That's when I found Jeremy's secret weapon" 😂
6:19 😂😂😂😂
Loved all three of these episodes even the full length ones are worth watching
It's so funny how much all three of them look like their mums.
One of my favorite episode. All mums were great ❤
Hammond's mom is brilliant 😆🤌
'The Shopping Chute' is actually quite the feature for a little eco car
£200! No!
That's the cutest episode of Classic Top Gear, my Friends!
Thank you All, that's really sweet.)
Mrs May driving away with that smile
8:12 this whole piece sent me to orbit especially Jame's face lmao
James mom is a real G!
Everybody gangsta till Captain Slow's mom proves she's based about good and bad cars
_"Le Mans style"_
"You two are sharing a bed, I'm ringing the daily mail immediately" 😂😂😂😂
i love you, mom.
May's mum just coming out with her opinions on low-profile tyres.
I'm with Jeremy on caravanning, it's much better staying in a hotel.
I miss this trio
13:50 I don't know how Jeremy can make any ordinary statement sound humorous.
"You're going to be taken into a cara-van"
("Lets go; Don't follow them in there")
8:18 looks like she has been doing her research 😂
Work sets you free!!!😂
This was a very special episode... And they all look like their moms. 😊
How much of all of these men look like their mother is just astonishing. ❤
6:47 😂😂😂
I love how they all look so much like their mothers
20:37 Clarkson has completed missed the silver pickup (over Hamster’s shoulder) is a Dodge Ram.
It's also an SRT-10.
29.57 That is movement
Not sure what's going on with the music (seems to be 2 tracks playing at the same time) but an enjoyable watch!
Dope episode never seent it be4
