Ollie your Korean is getting sooo good! But remember
All adjectives are verbs.
Exo_bangtantrash i don't need to remember that all adjectives are verbs :( wahhh
lmao I hope he reads this comment
Exo_bangtantrash lol thats not true. An adjective describes a following noun. A descriptive verb is always used at the end.
좋은 adjective
좋아 descriptive verb
Mihai Untu Well.. you should come here after watching the latest? or just one of the recent Jolly videos, cuz Ollie was panicked of hearing 'All adjectives are verbs', which Josh just told Ollie to make him understand easier.
유영현 i didn't
i love hearing Gabie laughing in the back!!!
Me too!! But I'm hoping Josh could set up another camera back there so we could see what Gabie was doing and how bad she's cracking up!
Her laugh makes me smile every single time. She's definitely an essential part of this series.
Who is Gabbie?
Joshy's wife. maybe her name is gookgabie :)
That's Grace, their editor, I love her laugh too xD
i can't wait for the day ollie masters korean so he can react to all the old videos on him practicing korean xD
MAL LONG 와....와..와아-
MAL LONG 와아아아.
MAL LONG 존경!!
일 = sun
월 = moon
화 = fire
수 = water
목 = wood
금 = metal
토 = earth
Also, the names of the days are related to the planets of Solar system.
Sunday=일요일=Sun

Wednesday=수요일=Water=Mercury(수성)
Thursday=목요일=Wood=Jupiter(목성)

NDos Dannyu
Earth
Terren Zergling earth
Moon
Mars
Mercury
Jupiter
Venus
Saturn
Sun
hearing gabie laughing in the background makes it so much funnier for some reason
I know this is 5 years too late but it's Grace laughing xD
Gabies laugh is like a lil Easter egg you never know when ur gonna hear it but when you do it's bloody hilarious
YESS oh my gosh I absolutely love it!

btssaltinecracker oh my god. Legendary video. Thanks!
Saaaame 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I was looking in the comments if any other army thought the same thing as me xD
when ollie said HWAAAAAAAAA all I could think of was the crackhead ateez video
2:28 He almost said, "you bloody BLEW UP in china"😂😂😂😂
Has ollie tried kdramas? 😂 it really helps with basic phrases
It also helps with just hearing the language alot and when you start learning Korean, to watch Kdramas just try to understand as much as possible without the subs, using the subs as support

Now im expecting gabie's laugh in every episode
"i got trapped in a loop" ...OMG I DIED OF LAUGHTER!!
I've been trying for months to remember the days of the week. Now thanks to Ollie I have a fun way of remembering it. Thank guys
Literally my favorite channel ever
"Shin Ramyeon?" The innocent look on his face when he said that lololololololololol. you're channel always makes me laugh!
I fell of my chair when Ollie misheard "shinaneun" for "shin ramyeon" looool
You guys always bighten up my day with your quirkiness
Gabies laugh is everything I was having a horrible day and her laughter made my day a whole lot better 😂😂
It's 2024 and I still show this to my students to help them learn the days of the week
U make the best videos ever
They make learning korean seem so fun. I suddenly feel so motivated to study right now even though it's 7am
Gabie's laugh is one of my favorite on every video. It feels complete and I feel satisfied when gabie laugh so hard too. 😂💖
Korean Days of the Week completely match with English Days of the Week by a bit knowledge of astronomy. (in Japanese, too)
Sunday - Sun -
Monday - Moon -
Tuesday - Mars -
Wednesday - Mercury -
Thursday - Jupiter -
Friday - Venus -
Saturday - Saturn -
I legit love this channel! You both are so funny and make my day! I love how I myself can follow along in my Korean lessons and I can sometimes get something new out of each of your guys lessons! It's great! Keep up the amazing videos!
The first time I watched these videos I was crying laughing at these videos, but now that I'm learning Korean myself, Ollie has actually made it easier to remember numbers and days of the week, so thanks Ollie!
You probably wont believe me but yesterday before sleeping I was thinking in learning the days of the week in korean and I was already planning my day to separate some hours for studying and this video just... wow it's amazing how life works
Actually, in Korea, the first day of the week is MONDAY ;)
I’m from the US but I’ve sorta grew up for a bit in China and am now learning Korean, so I hope I can be as fluent as Josh someday~ his accent is so fricken good
Not gonna lie, this video helped me remember the days of the week SO much better.
I've been trying to master weekdays for a couple of month now! Ollie succeeded teaching me all 7 days in 7 minutes! This is amazing!
Could you please do the same with korean numbers? 20, 30, 40.... that's another topic I can't seem to master. But with Ollies hilarious hints I might!
Wait wait wait, back up, Josh GREW UP in CHINA???
Yeah, he did
Ariana Segura for how long?
Exo_bangtantrash I don't remember quite well. I think he was at an international school, and a lot of his peers talked Korean. I think that's how he started getting into the language. He talked about that in a video, but I don't remember which one
w k he was grew up in china for 6 uears
he left uk super young like 9 I think
Hi I'm Ollie and I'm Josh, and this is Olsh.
Thank you for another great video, I love watching you guys so much!!! I really want to learn Korean (and Chinese and Japanese and French) but I'm currently in my last year of school so I need to focus on that lol, but I'm picking up on stuff naturally watching your videos! Thanks again ~
Moon) Monday
Water) Wednesday
Tree) Thursday
금요일 - 금(金=gold / metal - famous metal is iron , iron is 'Fe') Friday
토요일 - 토(土= land/ earth/ Soil) Saturday
Sun) Sunday
Never clicked so fast
Their videos make my Mondays bearable
relating stuff to every day things is REALLY helpful learning a new language
I have to study Korean at night because of my parents and I share a room. 90% of the time I have to stifle multiple laughs because of these episodes😂😂😂
Besides laughing and having a great time I actually learned the days along with Ollie. I love this channel man.
It’s the same concept as Japanese days of the week, and some of the pronunciations are actually similar so it helped me learn.
Sunday Nichiyoubi day of the sun,
Monday getsuyoubi day of the moon,
Tuesday Kayoubi day of fire
Wednesday suiyoubi day of water
Thursday Mokuyoubi day of wood (random, the only one that doesn’t come in a pair)
Friday kinyoubi day of gold/metal
Saturday doyoubi day of earth/soil
Same concept.
Hearing Gabie cracking up in the background is the best part of these videos
I LIKE YOU SO MUCH!!
The same applies for Japanese too, so this has been really helpful! So glad I know Japanese. Josh, you'd probably find Japanese really easy to learn going from Korean.
Gabie's laughter tho‼️‼️‼️
I'm not Chinese but I'm fluent enough to do conversational Chinese n recognise some words too. Knowing some Chinese words n seeing Hanja made my mind blown like wowwww... made so much sense now!
In a fun note, hwa in Chinese means fire but in Vietnamese it means flower. ❤️
Thank you for a fun episode!
It's so fun after learning and watching this.
I'm not sure if it's the same in Korean and Chinese, but in Japanese the days of the week are actually named after planets, and planets are named after elements.
日曜日/nichi-yō-bi, 日曜, 日 - Sunday, Sun, Sun/Day
It's interesting, because you can clearly see that Latin and Japanese names seem to share the origin of their names:
Sunday -> Sun's day -> Dies Solis -> Sun day
Monday -> Moon's day -> Dies Lunae -> Moon day
Tuesday -> Tyr's day -> Dies Marti -> Mars day
Wednesday -> Wodan's/Odin's day -> Dies Mercurii -> Mercury day
Thursday -> Thor's day -> Dies Jovis -> Jupiter/Jove day
Friday -> Frigg's day -> Dies Veneris -> Venus day
Saturday -> Saturn's day -> Dies Saturni -> Saturn day
Ollie you helped me learn the days of the week in Korean quickly 😂 (I think the Chinese characters help but maybe that's because I already know the days of the week in Japanese 💕)
He is so brilliant in some way to learn languages! How lovely he is :)
The more I watch Olli learn Korean the more I'm reminded of Japanese. The grammar is so similar as are the words that were derived from Chinese. I may have to start learning Korean next
What I did to remember the days of the week, is counting on my fingers while repeating "월 화 수 목 금 토 일" Still remember them today because of that! ^^ Good luck with your Korean studies Ollie! You can do it!!
Monday - Moon day
Tuesday - fire day
Wednesday - water day
Thursday - tree day
Friday - gold day
Saturday - earth day
Sunday - sun day
I'VE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH THESE AND AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO ONCE (and a half but that's irrelevant the half was just me laughing) I CAN PROUDLY SAY I HAVE THEM DOWN BLESS YOU TWO
the funniest part of these videos is laughter bursting in from another room
According to international standard ISO 8601, Monday is the first day of the week. It is followed by Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Sunday is the 7th and last day of the week.
I love Ollie's Korean
since I learned japanese first, seeing the kanji that go with words really helps me memorize their meaning. the days of the week have the same origins in jpn too~
I love that we can always hear Gabbie laughing in the background, it makes it even funnier LOOOOOL
Please keep doing those Korean videos! It's so helpful for Korean learns and really funny to watch xD
I like how one of your guys better half always laught in the background it's like those laught tracks they used to have on old movies. It's so funny 😂 all of you the whole Brady bunch you're so funny guys and girls ❤
Simply 이었다 is just past tense and 이었었다 is present perfect tense but in korean they are not that different (also that is why korean -english learners find present perfect tense difficult )
I immediately thought of Gabie when Ollie confused it with eating!!! I loved that segment on her channel ♡♡
lol I had BTS's Fire stuck in my head once you mentioned Fire Friday!!
I always pick up the wrong thing from these videos, like I now know how to say fire, which is fun!
I really enjoy watching your korean learning video's. Please keep making these video's so I can learn with a lot of fun. You two really are a great duo.
I was having so much trouble with Monday-Thursday, thanks for this mnemonic!
Yes I love these lessons!!!
Here we go!
lol! Ollie makes it so easy to learn Korean days of the week! haha... it just instantly clicks!
Gabie laughing in the back of the Jolly videos is probably my favourite thing on RUclips.
