- After several requests, I have pulled out
my N-Gage collection from storage to showcase on my channel. The N-Gage is an often overlooked cell phone/gaming device that offered a peek into the what mobile gaming was to be like. In this video, I show physical copies of all 56 games, as well as many extras that I have gathered along the way.

Literally the only person I know that ever mentions the N-Gage, let alone collect it. Very cool, thanks for sharing!
Omg John that intro was great!!!
PS
I met you at the PRGE and I had a discussion with you about my PTSD... anyways I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to talk with me. Take Care.
Chad Shephard thank you for your kind words. You are most welcome!
I bought one of these at launch just to play the Tony Hawks Pro Skater port but I ended up enjoying it so much I bought a lot more. I remember being really impressed with the graphics in the Asphalt racing game! Great Video to showcase the full collection! Thanks for doing this!
That Rifts cart has Kevin Siembieda's signature on it. He didnt program the game but is a publisher, artist writer creator of the role playing books Rifts. He runs Palladium Books. :)
Madlittlepixel Thanks for the clarification! I got this on Digitpress many years ago.
John Hancock Very nice collectible! Soon as I recognized the signature I was like aw man I want that LOL!
Great ... Its my childhood dream.. and finally i purchased nokia n gage QD... really happy...
Money can buy happiness
Nokia is Finnish company and today Finland celebrates 100 years of independence so good timing John and thanks for the awesome video again! :)
Ooh. I'm building my Crash collection next year - need to get my hands on that N-Gage release.
The resolution is allot better then I thought it was gonna be, looks fine for a older portable device.
N-Gage was my first cellphone when I was in high school. To be able to play THPS on the go was awesome. I still have it and have been thinking of fixing the charging port and getting a new battery. Cool video John
Man I so wanted one of these when I was like 14.Back when we were amazed when phones had radios built in.
N-Gage is very close to my heart. I own two tacos and two QDs (the orange variation is gorgeous). Screen and ergonomics are awesome for the time. Game catalog is meh but Symbian wasn't such great platform for game programming. IMHO the console holds a great value as a vintage device also because you can install tons of classic java games on it and enjoy them in a perfect dedicated piece of hardware for gaming.
As for some this might not be their cup of tea. But I love the ngage,I've never seen one even, but its totally awesome!
Your the reason I bought the n gage and got a copy of shadow key. Love the elderscrolls!! Loved the intro btw, lol!
Really nice game collection of the n-gage,i remember that back in the day.
Thanks for the video, amazing collection
Awesome collection! Thanks for preserving parts of gaming history that are sometimes overlooked.
I loved the N Gage back in the day, glad to see other people appreciated it too.
Looking to buy an n gage in 2022 and no surprises......JH has a full set!!! Really good video and interesting to see it all out. That sonic game reminded me of the NGPC version. I'll have to think long and hard before paying about £100 for one though!!! Thanks again 👍🏼
Late in commenting, but I must say your videos are making me feel very nostalgic. I had to go find my original Ngage and remind myself what games I had. I loved this device. It gets tons of jokes made about it, but it was revolutionary in its own way. Having a cellphone, portable game system and music player in one device at the time was way ahead of its time. Most people forget you could get your own MMC cards and load them with music. Seeing one of your other videos made me want to kick myself, because I actually traded in a Neo Geo AES system. I consider that one of my biggest mistakes with my video game systems. Thank you for the videos!
Lot of love for the NGage - although I've only managed 16 of the games so far. Great work John, keep it up. Chat soon.x
I had one back in the day and i love it.
Man, that intro was awesome, simple n effective. Legend. I brought these up on FB a while back. Never had heard of them till a m8 mentioned them to me. Cool vid John!
They look like switch games, the cartridge.
such an obscure system and cool that you have a complete collection. neat! thanks for sharing
Hey John, I’ve got a N-Gage QD demo store kiosk if you were interested plus oversized ngage boxed and kiosk sideart. If you wanted the icing on the cake for your collection
Bro you refreshed so many old memories 🙂
I’m impressed by the publisher support. Fun video!
I loved the 1st N-gage, used it for like 5 years.
Very cool, oddball console and collection. Thanks for showcasing it!
This could have been a great portable system for shmups with that vertical screen orientation. It's a shame that some of the ideas here weren't executed better, as this could have been a really nice phone/gaming combo.
Pretty cool. I still have my taco version with its box and carry case. It was cool for about a year or so. I went through t mobile who had bad coverage back then.lol have about 15-20 games for it. Some were digital phone games I downloaded to my memory card. I even recorded music from the radio to my card.lol its a cool device that never got the credit it deserved despite some flaws.
Great video John, I remember when the Nintendo DS first came out, my birthday rolled around and I was dead set on getting the Nokia N-Gage, the same day I had a friend stay over at my house and he brought over his brand new Nintendo DS along with a few of the launch titles (I remember Asphalt Urban GT specifically) and that soon made me snap out of wanting an N-Gage and I ended up getting a Nintendo DS instead
Best video game videos on the net today thank you man
Lol love the beginning, and the whole rest of the video too!
I was I total fan of this thing every one made fun of me though . I loved it . I had a after market case could change the buttons and body . True story I left it on the roof mod my car car and it fell off on a Main Street herd it falling saw it get ran over by 3 cars and it still worked fine just need new housing and buttons . You could all do get movies to play on it . The os was so cool . I had the double drive so I could have 2 games in the deck at once . Never got the blu tooth head phones though. There was a lot of cool stuff for this thing I loved it. I had the qd. Thing is psp came out and mad it look really bad . Few games I could never play because there so bad with the video noise . Still a lot of fun games on it . Still don’t care thing was so head of it’s time.
True gamer
that smile at the beginning, so charming
Dude, you are barley 40 and you already got a legacy! Thanks!!!
Thanks memories Amazing collection susprise remember few games as good times 2003 as played few Tony hawks skateboarding on train.goin to club
I got a complete collection too, love it. I even own the FULL paid for version of Payload from Tantalus Interactive. and the free version of Super Fighter Block Battle, yonks ago exclusive available for N-Gage from the Super Fighter Team. And also I own the big box Asphalt Urban GT with leather gloves
This was a very cool video never new the N-gage had so many games...
Electronics Boutique! Yes!
Yep. That is where I purchased my PS2 brand new back in 2002. And I still have it to this day!
"What's kinda weird is you have to hit it over there, pressing this little button here, and hitting open. That's crazy!" Hahaha!!!
Awesome collection. I thought I was only missing Asphalt 2 but your video taught me that there's a game called Flo Boarding. Well, crap. Probably never complete my collection. lol.
I actually remember asking to use someone's phone as a kid and he pulled out one of these. Had some great games, but using it as a phone was a pain.
Loving the intros lately :D
There are actually a few games that look pretty cool. I wasn't aware of all of these for n-gage. I doubt I'd ever collect it though, since I've never found any before and would have to buy on ebay, but pretty nice collection.
Thanks for sharing! Loved it
This was my dream phone when it arrived. Still wish I had one.
Awesome John! Big fan of the n-gage! Another item like the n-gage is the zodiac if you have any of that it would be cool to show off :-) not a very big set or following. Keep up with the awesome oddities videos!
That intro cracked me UP.
I got the beginning of this video. I'm on to your trickery sir. You weren't really talking on that Nokia N-gage phone you silly goose. Hahaha really though awesome collection bud.
Might have finally gone off the reservation here! But if it makes you happy rock on man. 😊
Back when it came out I needed a phone but had no money. I traded in some games and managed to buy one at game station. Man I loved being able to play Tony hawk's on the go but dam I got some stick for having this phone.
Best intro ever.
The stupid grin at the beginning... 🤣 🤣 🤣. Hilarious STUFF!
I started Last year collecting for the NGage. Since than the games skyrocking at the Moment. Some games you got for 4-5 bucks than goes for 100+$ now.
I came across a sealed Display. Someone send me that when I ordered the game on Amazon
I've always wanted metal Jesus' orange N-Gage QD that's in his intro video
thath intro tho. haha, love you john, keep up to good work
Nokia N-Gage Complete Collection plus more
Nice set! Disappointed to see that some of them are NFRS placeholders instead of retail copies though. I definitely think the North American set is easier to obtain than the European set, although some of the last half dozen or so releases are stupidly difficult to get hold of - even straight after release they were hard to come by at a reasonable price (I'm still missing 5 games - one is the US exclusive NCAA Football). I'm also going for a full sealed set, so that makes it more challenging! ;)
Nice to see you have SEGA Rally and Flo Boarding (which can also be used as a regular SD card). Two games a lot of collectors forget about. I also heard rumours that Warhammer 40k has a physical cart, albeit NFRS version rather than a proper release.
Of all the phone handsets I've owned in the last 20 years, the N-Gage gave me the clearest reception ever, despite its unorthodox side-talking. I wish modern phones had that clarity!
xynthymr there is always someone disappointed lol. NFRS games are more rare with less made than retail releases. I have the physical release of warhammer 40k retail cart only.
xynthymr first fail, N-Gage does not use SD-cards.
John Hancock I have the Golden Review Kit of WH40K
I used to download and play Ngage games on my Nokia 6630. It had a better CPU, Tony hawk and rayman were the best games
I have the Taco N-gage back in the day. My games are King of Fighter, The Sims Bustin Out, Tomb Raider, X-men and Path way to Glory. It was a pretty cool device and have well made games. The only bad things about it are phone design, the screen is in Portrait not horizontal, how hard it is to put and exchange games, bad mouth piece positioning, it has no camera for a very expensive phone for that time and most of all small game library. But none the less it was a good device, wireless multiplayer, excellent graphics, better games than its GBA games counter part( CTR is in 3D unlike the GBA version), The one like the most was you can use SD to all the games instead of using the original original game cartridge and you play NES games by emulation.
the most awesome thing about the ngage was that it was a pretty cheap symbian device and u could install a lot of software on it while others where limited to java (i think) games and software
Pretty sure these were java based games also
I think its pretty cool :D
You didn't say "The Immortal John Hancock". So disappointed.
KesMonkey Yeah!
He said it at the end at least. Phew saved. :P
0/10
Boring
Hi John, i know we can’t play games or make calls without the sim card inserted first. But can you boot up the phone with the charger only? (like the PSP 3000, for example)
Hilarious as frick pre-intro. Are you a SAG member?
Nokia what smoking the devil's lettuce when they came up with this... Sooooo strange but awesome at the same time.
Hey there John!! I just bought myself a first generation N Gage. Where can I buy a replacement battery?? By the way, nice video bud!!
was snakes a physical copy game for n-gage qd?
Don’t think so
This virtua cop case i don't have it, maybe the unlabeled virta tennis too :(, i have to upload a video of my complete n-gage collection one day.
I seem to have a developer version of the QD is this worth anything? it doesn't seem to function as a phone at all but can play games. It came with what appears to be a demo version of FIFA 2005.
Saying that N gage was capable of sonic WHEN IT PLAYED LARA CROFT in 3D is just a shame!
Hello, Coudl you tell me is the watch original Nokia release? Thank you!
Can the N-gage deal with a larger capacity micro SD in an adapter to save you having to swap out game cards all the time?
Hi John, I have a full pal / worldwide Ngage set, includes Sega Rally...i've been considering selling it as a whole, but have no idea what the price would be...also from your experiences...do people tend to pay more for a full complete set because it's complete, or less because they see it as more of a "bundle", if that makes sense? Thanks for any help :)
SkillJim Hi, usually people do not pay extra money for regions. The region difference is only the paper cover of the game.
Atleast I do not.
John, we need to talk - this is not a thing to be proud of :)
John, do you own a Tapwave?
Only reason to get an N-Gage, really, was to play Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey. Not easy to find one. Just like how the only reason to get a Virtual Boy is to play Virtual Boy Warioland.
Had no idea anyone even bought these outside of Finland. The Pandemonium display case is also the european version boxart. Too bad it failed so miserably since many of the games were ok.
Hey!
This is Yogi from India.
You are like big bro for me for gaming thing and tangible collections. Its my dream to have Ngage QD but i am not able to get this any way. John! Please do help me to get one. Let me know if you can give any from your side.
Thank You Big Bro!
You are the one!!
Nokia’s business model became unsustainable. Even Sony failed at cellphone/gaming hybrids.
Flo boarding didnt have a box because it came bundled with the N-Gage
How much you spent to get all N-Gage stuff?!
you're missing one important title "one" the fighting game. had the best ever graphics
Just realized that Sonic N is literally just a simplified port of Sonic Advance for the GBA. Also what is with that name? I know, N.Gage, Sonic N. But still, can't look at it without thinking of a certain foul word. Or is that just me?
Isn't that version of Sonic the same as Sonic Advance for the GBA?
Is the game cart about the size of DS game or vita game?
They should release a rom of that sonic game, prob have already
SIDE TALKIN' ACTION
the Taco :)
One of my favorite handhelds. You have the Payload demo? Maybe even a display box kinda like that virtual cop?
Is the n gage region free
Civilization is rated 3+?
Eat your heart out, Wood.
Why do you read the *exact same* intro twice in a row?
I remember that thing. It was so terrible.
You remember gamecom?
Why am i here at 3am?
In case anyone can help me out: I'm still looking to complete my european collection (got 1 left to find): Civilization
My only grip is that screen my God it's so tiny
