CHORDS
In all of my hundreds of tutorial videos, I stick to just four basic chords:
C Am F G

I teach you these four chords and how to confidently transition between them in my Ukulele Beginner Course: fourchordsimpl...

STRUMMING PATTERNS
In an effort to keep things simple and avoid overwhelming beginners, I don’t put the strumming patterns in my videos. If you are just getting started, I’d recommend sticking with a simple downstrum once per chord.
After learning a few songs, having some fun, and gaining confidence, feel free to expand from there, but there’s no need to go overboard. To this day, I stick with just three simple strum patterns that create enough variety to avoid sounding monotonous:
1. Downstrum Strum Pattern (↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ). I use this strum pattern for the mellower parts of songs. It can be done at a low-intensity with one strum per chord/measure (↓ ), at a medium-intensity with two strums per measure (↓ ↓ ), or at a high-intensity with four strums per measure (↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ).
2. Upstrum Strum Pattern ( ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑). I use this strum pattern for happy, carefree songs that remind me of reggae like any song from Bob Marley.
3. Upbeat Strum Pattern (↓ ↓↑ ↑↓↑). I use this strum pattern during the high-energy parts of a song. If a chord lasts for more than one measure, I’ll carry out the ↑↓↑ part of the strum pattern until I switch to the next chord (↓ ↓↑ ↑↓↑ ↑↓↑ ↑↓↑...). If a chord only lasts for half a measure, I’ll cut the strum pattern in half (↓ ↓↑). And if a chord lasts for a single measure, I will play it in the standard fashion (↓ ↓↑ ↑↓↑).
I really do stick to just these three strumming patterns in my hundreds of tutorial videos. I teach and demonstrate each strumming pattern in-depth in my Ukulele Beginner Course: fourchordsimpl...
Please feel free to use whatever strum patterns you’d like as you learn the songs on my channel, but if you are interested in replicating the strumming patterns I use, I’ve carefully written them out for each song with the lyrics and chords in my songbook. Get it here: fourchordsimpl...

Glad you liked it, Shailesh! 😊 Thanks for the positive vibes!
Between the chorus and the bridge did you switch up the strumming pattern? I've been using DDUUDU for the entire song except the verses like you. Thanks again
Hi Shailesh! Great question! Check out the strumming guide in the description of the video for the three strumming patterns I use in every one of my songs. When a chord only lasts half a measure, the DDUUDU strum pattern gets cut in half: ↓ ↓↑. This is what happens during the bridge.

Can you do heavy by linkin park?
Thanks for the song request! I'll take a look, and if it's a popular song that can be done with just C, F, Am, and G, I'll consider making a tutorial of it. 👍
Man, can you pass the cifras? Nice video!
Thanks Andre! 😊
You missed showing the G chord on tabs at 1:30 ("And every (C) second I waste is more than (G) I can take"). Also, good work ! :)
Good catch Ankit! While we can't fix it in the video, we've fixed this typo in our songbook (fourchordsimple.com/songbook/). Thanks for pointing it out for us! 😊
Bro don't break the strums
Can you explain to me exactly how many up and down there are in the strumming?
