EASY Photoshop Tutorial: Extract & Remove Delicate Lace From A Background

- In this tutorial, I will show you how to extract delicate wispy lace from a dark background. I do not own the image, and please, use your own images when you use what you learn. Lace can be found cheaply at dollar stores, walmart, and similar places. This is NOT a beginner tutorial, however, you will most likely be able to follow it, even if you are a beginner. The version of Photoshop that I am using here, is CS5.1
If there is anything that you're confused about, please leave a comment. :)
Great tutorial! Made my life much easier.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial, I have been wanting to do this for so long
Could you please tell me, when scanning the lace should it be black and white text or picture, colour picture or grayscale.
I only seem to be able to get it to work using a colour picture setting, then I cant seem to get a good black
I am sooo sorry I didn't see this until now. Black and white can be the easiest, but it depends on the colour/shade of the lace, etc, your pc, your scanner, your graphics card, different variables, that I am sure you have likely figured out by now. Either way, let me know! :)
Amazing tutorial. Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this and also for sharing it.. I was very easy to follow. I am having so much fun making these.
yadidr79 I'm so glad that you've enjoyed it, and learned something from it! :D YAY

I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time. Im trying your method and its just not working. Can I email you my problem or try to get some help?
What version of photoshop are you using?
can you teach how to create volume, realistic sketches of underwear, clothes from lace?? from lace pieces? bringing together them, creating a new pattern? usually in all lessons just learn to do filling
What program are you using? Can I do this in Gimp?
