new in electrics . enjoy watching your videoes ,helping me better understand every aspect of battery, motor, and esc. looking forward on prop choices Thanks Dave
good video. I just purchased a spektrum 4260 800kv and runs on a 6s battery with a constant 1,000 watts, and an 80 amp ESC Avian that use 3s- 8s battery. I also purchased A brandnew DHC-2 Beaver 25e Platinum series arf. I figure its about 12 years old. The beaver weight should come out to 6.2lbs or so. not sure how this is going to turn out. what do you think? my first electric build.
WITH THAT MOTOR SIZE THE KV SHOULD BE AROUND 450-600 ON 6S . IM NOT A MOTOR EXPERT AL ALL. BUT WHAT IS GOOD INFO FOR US IS LOOK AT PLANES ON HORIZON OR WHO EVER AND SEE WHAT MOTOR ESC AND WHAT BATTERY THEY RECOMENDTHEN LOOK AT THE TYPE PLANE AND ITS WEIGHT. EXAMPLE THE FMS BEAVER WEIGHS ABOUT THAT SAME WEIGHT AND HAS A 4260 550 KV WITH A 6S SET UP..
HK SKS 5045 450kv with 14x7 prop on 6s at 60amps puts out approx 4500 grams of thrust, 9.9lbs of thrust. It's on my Lysander it flys my 7.5lb like a snow flake😂
I'm thinking the 370KV might be a little slow. It'll turn a larger diameter prop, but it'll also need more pitch because of the lower rpm. I'd guess a 15x10E or maybe a 16x10E. I don't think I've ever seen you fly very fast, so you might get by with a 16x8 on that motor. A 5055-430KV on 6S might use a 15x8E. My FMS Pitts S-2 has a 4258-460KV motor with a Xoar 16x8 wooden electric prop. I use a 4000-6S battery in it and barely get 5 minutes.
Really like your videos. Thanks for help teaching me about my new favorite hobby. Fly on!

Did you have to reverse the shaft through the motor to mount the prop adaptor correctly? Avian 4250 motor.

I HAVE ANOTHER MOTOR THAT IS 480KV I THINK ILL SHOW IT TO YOU GUYS AND WELL SEE WHAT IS BEST
@@GRIFFINRCPLANES Yeah, a 480KV on 6S with a 15x7E would be about right. Or maybe a 14x8E for more speed.
Looks like it's easy to get to!
YES
thank you for all you do
You are so welcome
Nice information
5 lb plane set fly on 6s .....unless you prop the he'll out of it and a higher kv ...u Def needed to upgrade
THAT IS WHY IM UPPING THE MOTOR FOR THE 6S. THIS WAS THE FIRST ARF I DID AND THE MANUAL SAID 4S 4500 WITH A 720KV
I would've gone like 500 to 650 kv....you might have to use like 8 or 9 pitch prop to make up for the low kv
WE WILL DO ALOT OF PLAYING AROUND WITH DIFFERENT SIZES UNTILL WE FIGURE OUT THE BEST OPTION
God I've been wanting a jet so bad just have not been able to afford it,
Good morning friend, how are you? This engine on the 4s battery has how much thrust?
Isn’t the 55 the shaft length?
YOU MAY BE RIGHT
