The show's objective is to allow normal people to experience singing on stage w the help of good singers in the industry. The number at the back is the number of votes the current 1st place got from the audience. The max vote is 500 and if they surpass that number at the back, they become the new first place for that ep. And the partner of ken is just a normal guy who loves nature. Ken chose him to be his partner after watching a video of him singing

He has such a strong soothing and clear voice and it is so unique

Can ya'll believe that on Mydol (the survival show that made VIXX) Ken almost didn't make it into the debut group because the CEO of Jellyfish was like "his voice isn't that great and doesn't blend well with others." Like ARE YOU KIDDING ME HAVE YOU HEARD HIM EVEN SING ARE YOUR EARS OPEN AND FULLY FUNCTIONING
Lol when I was watching those I was legitimately afraid they wouldn't pick him/mad that they kept dismissinh him when even back then he was definitely the best singer (Leo's awesome too but he got better after debut)
