Lol the gradual increase of panic in Lucanis culminating in a full blown existential crisis (which is a normal reaction ofc and I don't blame him) had me laughing all the way through the siege which was otherwise pretty tense! He's the perfect person to bring along with Davrin to this imo.

Rook should be a Warden... as a Protaganist for this game Rook should have always been a Warden. we can keep the option of the multiple backgrounds like Mournwatch but have Rook be a Warden. it would actually make her relevant, as the main character and give you a good answer when Solas asks you why he should put faith in you to stop the Blighted gods. Being a Warden would also give you a good reason for being able to get up close and personal with the Blight, and not have to worry about being infected by it, which this game has seemed to forget just how infectious the Blight is and has been in past games.

Totally agree! It almost feels like originally we were going to do a DAO style game with the origin story/background being important and funneling into the Gray Wardens in the end. Given how much blight is in the game it would have made sense that the Inquisitor & Varric would have sought out a Warden to handle this.

@@FoodThenGames Inquisition's handling of the Wardens after the battle of Adament fortress was strange. The Inquisitor never should have been able to tell the Wardens what to do, at least not without the First Warden or a similarly high ranked Warden's permission, or at least signing off on the Inquisitors request. in Veilguard we have a ten year gap between the events of Inquisition and Veilguard. which is a long enough time for the southern Thedas Wardens to gain back their numbers that they lost during the battle of Adament fortress. and place proper leaders in charge, that would not pull the same ridiculously insane plan that Orlaision Warden Commander Clarel came up with. I really have a hard time Believing that Ferelden, Orlais and the Free Marches would have fell to the Darkspawn so easily even with the First Warden being a stubborn fool. I still believe the the Inquisition should have been able to become like the UN Peacekeepers, so they could have mitigated the damage that the Venatori and the Qunari would have been able to accomplish.

Dragon Age has had a weird relationship with blight and Companion characters since DA:O. Yeah, the Hero of Ferelden and Alistair are Wardens and that explains their resistance to the Blight, but it doesn't explain Leliana's, or Morrigans or Sten or any of the other non-Wardens.
It got to the point where in Inquisition they introduced lore that some people, like Leliana, are just naturally more resistant to the Blight even without being Wardens.
So I just assume that all Companions are just those who are naturally resistant to the Blight for video game reasons because you just can't have a game where all your non-Warden characters turn into ghouls the minute they enter the Deep Roads.

I honestly thought that was strange too! But I think it showed the whole "if no one is in charge around here someone has to step up" vibe if that makes sense? I feel like by the time we get through that our Inquisitor is just like "F you, F this, F everything, I'm so done with you all" 😂😂😂
And considering what 2 Gray Wardens did in DAO it really doesn't make sense that the whole of the South would fall like that with way more Gray Wardens to help this time around.
